If you would, please edit the title of this thread to say "[SCD] Rancor". Thanks
From what I here in the m13 thread, some people are trying it in bant and zoo.
Lord knows I am.
But I think people are getting the card wrong. this isnt like angelic destiny. Where you kill the creature it comes back. If rancor dies while is on the battlefield in ANY way, it comes back. Meaning you bolt the dude in responce, rancor has no target, it dies from the battle field, so it comes back.

That's not how Auras work.
Rule 303.4g If an Aura is entering the battlefield and there is no legal object or player for it to enchant, the Aura remains in its current zone, unless that zone is the stack. In that case, the Aura is put into its owner’s graveyard instead of entering the battlefield.
Bolting a dude in response to rancor being cast puts it straight into the graveyard, without Rancor ever entering the battlefield. Rancor then goes to graveyard, and stays there. The area where Rancor straight up beats Angelic Destiny is that if it is destroyed by enchantment or permanent destruction (e.g. Naturalize or something like that), it still goes back to hand, unlike destiny.
Rancor looks good in damn near anything running green and a lot of creatures.
Non-Doran Junk will love rancor, especially for the mid-game when it becomes beneficial to throw dark confidants into combat. Aside from that, I don't think rancor is going to be much of a factor outside of possibly a bant list, though I'd much rather be maindecking spell pierce than rancor in a bant shell.
Angelic Destiny[/CARD] is that if it is destroyed by enchantment or permanent destruction (e.g. Naturalize or something like that), it still goes back to hand, unlike destiny.
That's definitely one, but IMO, the bigger part where Rancor beats other auras is if the guy wearing it gets exiled (Path to Exile), returned to hand (Repeal), or jammed into libraries (Condemn/Oust/Terminus/etc.).
Probably infect will be much stronger.
T1 Glistener's Elf
T2 Rancor and a random pump or protection spell (Vines of Vastwood or Apostle's Blessing)
T3 Another random pump and win!
blouses is the troll/geist deck that was using spectral flight, psionic blast, and a few others. took an scg tourney in California a couple of months back. It's pretty cool.

That was my first thought as well. My GUB Infect deck is pretty fast and decently consistent right now, but Rancor takes it to a whole 'nother level.
agreed. great in infect, which now makes blockers less relevant and boosts pump spells affects by plowing through. Also makes ichorclaw myr better wuth it.
The only thing we don't have to make infect a true monster is Invigorate. Stuff like a Kicked Vines of Vastwood or the green +4/+4 landfall spell are still gamebreaking, esp now with Rancor.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
Plus, even if you were able to cast Rancor on your hexproofed creature, you now need a sacrifice engine to recur Rancor (or you can let your creature die in combat). It would probably take up too many card slots for the deck.
Lastly, the Enchantress decks typically don't have a lot of creature targets (the finisher is usually a token generator), so you probably have to build an aura deck with some creatures. This is a different Enchantress build than the Legacy-style Enchantress decks, which run very few creatures.
this will bring infect back into the developing at least

Good points. I was thinking about testing something with aura gnarlid, but there's no real enchantment that gives hexproof. at least for a minimal cost.
Any other ideas?
What about using it in GW knights. Or perhaps a GW exalted deck... Been playing around with that idea...

The main problem right now is that current usable enchantresses (Kor Spiritdancer, Mesa Enchantress, Verduran Enchantress) are vulnerable to removal, so getting the draw engine going is difficult.
