If you're talking about the late game, I don't think we're playing the same format. Is there a late game in modern? I thought it was turn four karn, infinite combos and aggro and tempo nut draws. Fighting tarmogoyf by paying one mana a turn to make him slightly smaller is not how you reliably deal with tarmogoyf. That would be something like path to exile, or at least relic.
I think you're extremely sunny about the good side and you're not mentioning the bad side. Half the decks in your testing are redundant anyways. You don't need to play against seven different flavors of aggro and tempo, for example.
It's not dealing with Goyf directly, but it is keeping him blockable with Wall of Roots is it not?
What exactly is the bad side? "In MUs without Finks,SCM, and Goyf he just gains me life and shocks the opponent for some reach sometimes."
"He's bad against both Trons. Except for UW because he screws their oppsiwin Gifts package."
That sounds like a good downside.
I think you're being really nitpicky. Sometimes cards like Path to Exile are bad in certain MUs. But, i'm sure you're leaving those at a 4x in every deck you play...
I just tested rakdos charm in my RDW and I am sold on this card. killed a pod combo and a twin combo with it today. And the best part was I killed him while he had a lay line out too.
It condences my side, smash is good, but rakdos being flexable is better. I sided it against affinity, and ended up using the make creatures hurt him to death bit to kill him once (6 damage!) and the kill arti twice. I sided it against another combo deck as well for the grave hate. it is very, very, good.
Also, what was funny is the pod plater actually made the exact amount to kill me since he know I had it, but since I had 3 mana, I bolted him, then was into rakdos range.
I don't know. I still believe Jund would rather play Grim Lavamancer because it aims for board control first and beats later. And yeah, Lavamancer is a 1-drop that Jund actually wants to play.
Getting a bit of acceleration in Jund would be awesome too. Jund doesn't play birds / hierarch because they're a bad cascade. This isn't a homerun, but it's not much different than cascading into lavamancer.
