Q: Is Craig Wescoe playing a white weenie deck?
A: Yeah he's playing martyr of sands with a black splash for lingering souls and tidehollow sculler.
Q: How many people are playing at the Pro Tour? What Record makes Day 2?
A: 383, 4-4
Q: What deck is Channel fireball playing?
Jund with 4 main deck deathrite shamans and 4 gerralf's messengers over finks. Pat Chapin is also playing the same list.
I expect a lot of the top tables to be playing Delver, Scapeshift, Birthing Pod, and Jund.
I also feel like people are going to forget Affinity & RDW exist, and we'll see good showings of these two decks off the back of Blood Moon, players skimping on aggro hate, and the fastest non-combo clocks in the format.

I'm pretty sure the people there tested against affnity as it's the best aggro deck, and it won the last American Modern GP. RDW not so much, i doubt it'll make it to the top 8. That deck can't beat a kitchen finks or lightning helix. Yeah I wonder how many games blood moon will steal.
It'll be interesting to see if people are metagaming and playing the white life gain deck, as it has a good match up vs jund and u/w/r delver.
I predict the most played RTR card will be Izzet Charm. That card is one versatile workhorse. Everything from Delver to Scapeshift to Exarch Twin to maybe UR Storm will be playing this card.
Abrupt Decay will likely take second place, but it might not even be close. UR is more common than BG.
I also believe that if Valakut will ever be broken, it will be in this tournament. Me, I'm predicting someone will break Valakut and it will appear in at least one Top 8 deck. That deck will be either UGr Scapeshift Combo (no Prismatic Omen) or Wargate-like (with Omen)--RG Valakut Ramp will probably perform as well as RG Artifact Tron (will shape the meta, but will not Top 8 due to having some fairly hopeless match-ups).

sounds like we've got some infect in the house.
Indeed, that or Grislecannon.
It is indeed a 4-of for palo right now. Good in the mirror for powering out turn two finks or turn 3 blood braids, but otherwise seems like a bad choice. Messanger seems like a good choice for the mirror on paper, but its turning out to be bad choice in reality. Palo almost died in a situation he didn't have to die in because the Messanger is tapped coming into play. The only thing that saved him was the Obstinate Baloth. His opponent actually did lose the last game in part to the fact that HIS messenger came into play tapped and couldn't block palo's beats.
So it might as well be an infect deck in the fact that it will suffer from all the same problems (being an all in deck that loses to maindeck removal).

Im not saying it can't win, but lets be honest... When you tip three pumps on your infect guy and the opponent respons with PTE or Abrupt Decay you've just 3/4 for 1'd yourself. Every once in a while they have the creature protection but more often then not thats how it loses games.
Am I the only one that wishes the commentators would talk less and get more games on screen?

Clout doesn't pump the Elemental so it's just worse.
Looks like it's unsurprisingly got Kiln Fiend as the poor man's Elemental 5-8, has the expected glut of Phyrexian mana spells, and then the surprise enabler for Nivmagus is Ground Rift

Not necessarily.
For one, good Infect players pace themselves.
For two, Infect usually has Blessing, Vines of Vastwood, and Spell Pierce.
Clout doesn't pump the Elemental so it's just worse.
It doesn't get the pump from exiling, but it still gets +2/+2 from the spell itself.
Anyways, nice find. I assumed it was a spell with Storm that makes him lethal, but could only come up with Flusterstorm (not Modern legal) and didn't have time to do a search.
Probably running Flamekin Harbinger as a way to get them Nivmagus/Kiln Fiend if you don't have it in hand.

Q: What deck is Jon Finkel Playing?

Jund with 4 main deck deathrite shamans and 4 gerralf's messengers over finks. Pat Chapin is also playing the same list.
Q: What deck is SCG Blue playing?
An all in comboish deck with Nivmagus Elemental and Kiln Fiend and uses Flamekin Harbinger to find them. It uses a bunch of cheap/free spells to "combo off" Gitaxian Probe, Mutagenic Growth, Apostle's Blessing, Clout of the Dominus, ground rift, slaughter pact.
I also feel like people are going to forget Affinity & RDW exist, and we'll see good showings of these two decks off the back of Blood Moon, players skimping on aggro hate, and the fastest non-combo clocks in the format.
