I really want to get a Master Transmuter/Grand Architect deck going. Just seems so cool to spin things in and out of the battlefield, and their are some very good artifacts to spin.
I've been tinkering with a WRx boat-brew/martyr-proc hybrid list using ranger of eos and friends. I came up with the idea after going to a new LGS whose meta was full of burn and aggro, don't think I can make it work against infect and combo unfortunately.

I've already tried this. It's really fun, but it's too fragile to be competitive. It's typically shut down by a single removal spell.
I'll say it once and I'll say it again: lotus cobra. If anyone found out a way to get lotus cobra in a tier 1 deck I'd be so happy.
Also, land destruction, as well as blood moon effects. Plow Under would be sweet. People are really greedy with their mana bases these days.
I brew nightly haha
Right now I'm attempting to make Distrupting Shoal good, in a BUG Delver list its fun, but IDK.
Tomorrow will be something else new haha
Also, at the end of the month (or if I lose a match) I'll post my list that I'm playing in the IQ...lets just say Call of the Herd is pretty sweet

If you call eggs tier 1, there is a version which I play that runs Lotus Cobra as a way to generate a lot of mana...
I want to see a Hive Mind brew reach at least tier 1.5 status in Modern. While its very powerful in a fast format, its still not OP in my honest opinion.
Plow Under (and Green) isn't the direction I'd take for LD. First up, you want the two best pseudo-LD spells in the format: Boomerang and Eye of Nowhere, because they are versatile and cost two mana. One of them is also an instant. Spreading Seas or Sea's Claim could see play as well, but I'm a little bearish on those. Throw in Molten/Stone Rain, and have Wildfire as the way to really finish your opponent's board.
I'm not sure the critters you'd want. Snapcaster Mage is almost certainly wanted, but Magnivore is probably not good enough for the format. Maybe ax Wildfire and run Delver, hoping to flip 2nd turn and go on the beatdown while beating them in the tempo game?
Deck seems a little half-baked, but prob. the best I can come up with for Modern LD.

I know it's kind of hard to take LD into green but plow under is a very strong card. There's a reason it costs 5 mana. Unfortunately, there's a lot of work to set it up if you're going to do that in a timely manner. Green also has beast within.
I have been working on a LD deck for some time, and I think I have something that is pretty potent. The annoying part is that I started the deck as GRW, getting extra steam from BBE, but after a few months of testing I have a BRG that looks quite similar to Jund. It is not Jund (I call it 'Scorched Earth'), but I am pretty sure if i just listed the deck in Deck Creation without a name people would call it LD Jund. That annoys me...
Anyway, it can really tear a board apart. Cockatrice players seem to dislike it...loudly.
My next project, and one that I have dabbled with before, is to make use of the Detain mechanic to make a control stasis like deck that works. The one I was working on is ending up more Midrange than control, but I really want to crack the Modern Control code.
I support WotC's goal of shaping Modern in favor of diversity.
I ran a thought experiment on my blog Modern in a Nuclear Wasteland
of an extreme case of banning 20 more cards to make sure they get everything, then scaling back where appropriate. WotC seems to be on a slowly build up approach. Both ways probably reach similar end points.
The post Gatecrash metagame is proving to be closer to the endpoint than I estimated, so its very possible that few (if any) more cards need to be banned.

Man, making a random brew actually do something good is the best feeling in the world.
Lets hear it for making a deck with Steel Hellkite good! I used to use him in standard, he was amazing. Completely underrated, and if someone made a tier 1/1.5/heck, even 2 deck with him in it, I would be dancing like a schoolgirl.

Seeing Kibler running his GWb Hate bears deck, it inspires me going in different directions and, who knows, maybe discover something competitive.
Feel free to post things you've tried (was it good?) and things you want to try.
I'd like to try UB Robots/Infect. Cranial Plating, Darksteel Citadel, Ichorclaw Myr, Blighted Agent, Plague Stinger, IoK, etc.
Deckbuilders, ready, set, Go!
WU Resto Blade
RUG Tron
BUG Infect
WBG Melira Pod
WBRG White Jund
In all seriousness. A defender deck. lots of mana and walls. Maybe a banefire, planewalkers or something.
Mono red, manabase hate seems fun too.
figure out how to make Celestial Kirin good
Modern:
Abzan Company
Abzan Midrange
GB Collected Elves
Legacy:
Junkblade
EDH:
Erebos, God of Black
You won't like Omnath when he's angry...
CEDH:
Meren, Clan of Vzlue

Anything with Heartless Summoning in it.
Elf Combo, I know its already out there - I just want it to be better.
Mirrorweave
Competitive Kithkin? Probably not. Though if you went UW, you could include Mirrorweave.
G/U/(r) Turboland with Lotus Cobra.
A Genesis Wave deck, possibly some variation on the above.
Did I mention Mirrorweave? I'd like to make it good.
Shadowmoor Lieges, particularly Creakwood Liege, and the GW one. They might be good with Mirrorweave...
K-Red/token rdw
A deck that can abuse Temporal Mastery. Maybe that Turboland idea could do it.
Turbofog/Owling Mine - W/G/U/r
A token deck with Mirrorweave and Lords.

Celestial Kirin + Isochron Scepter + Evermind = Armageddon!
Seriously, I do have a deck made up to take advantage of this plus Spirits 1CC to 5CC. It's got a good feel to it so far.
