Also, there are quite a few cards that are expensive and played outside of Jund:
Geist of Saint-Traft
Vendilion Clique Liliana of the Veil (Gifts)
Thoughtseize (Gifts/Melira Pod)
Kiki-Jiki Mirrorbreaker Linvala, Keeper of Silence Mox Opal
Karn Liberated
So they might reprint quite a few staples
If this is in reference to the current printing of Modern Masters the cards with strikethrough won't be in this set.
I think many people are just excited about cards like Spell Snare and Kitchen Finks which are rather expensive for uncommons.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
I'm guessing that this set will re-print the painlands at uncommon. Leaves rare slots for cards that are more interesting while giving the draft environment better fixing and printing a bunch of the least expensive duals to help newer players have readily available budget options for their lands.
Painlands at uncommon seems about right. Between the shocks and the Scars lands, the pains seem really underwhelming. That said, if they are reprinted, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to come up with 10 uncommons I'd rather see. Honestly, I'm most excited about new art possibilities for some of the staples. I'm holding my breath for Inquisition of Kozilek.
Thoughts on the Fetches in a core set? If a set has only the basic landtypes, they are pretty reasonable. Probably won't do it until the Shocks rotate out of standard.
But why do people fear there will be fetchlands and shocklands simultaneously in standard?
I shall be very optimistic even if it comes true. Of course, every decks will get stable manasources and become multicolorized, but, so what?
I don't think such a metagame isn't healthy.
If WotC really want more and more people to play modern games, they should reprint fetchlands right away.Needless to say,the most important card is not Tarmo or Bob but Land.
Reprinting painlands or other lands in MM isn't necessary in essence.
I am worried that the card quality in MM is going to be a huge let down. Wizards' vision of what modern should be is very different from what we see on the tournament scene. We all know that wizards is turning magic into a creature-based game and de-emphasizing spells such as counters, card filtering, and hand disruption because they think beginners aren't capable of understanding or don't like such interactions.
The first cards they spoil are a creature and an iconic land that doesn't see tournament play which seem to follow this line of thinking. With the comments that MM is a limited test (I am paraphrasing but they have said something along those lines) I am worried we are going to see things like creature enchantments and cards that are never played at tournaments in rare slots because it's what wizards wants new modern players exposed to.
We almost have to think about what cards in modern does wizards like? I doubt Cryptic Command, Thoughtseize, Dark Confidant, or Kiki-Jiki will be reprinted. Plainswalkers - YES. Swords - YES. Noble Hierarch, Vendilion Clique, & Damnation - Maybe.

Wizards understands that eternal formats are not something they need to cater to beginners. Modern Masters will be printed with a whole different set of goals and philosophy than a standard set. Have you ever been to Dailymtg.com? They know what players are playing, they know what people are going to want and what is going to sell Modern Masters packs.
Don't try to crack the set based on two cards. One not only a creature but the most sought after creature in Modern, which tells us nothing other than that they are going to be printing hard to get Modern staples... which is the point of the set anyway. The other an iconic land, which doesn't tell us too much either.
Relax, if the cards in the pack aren't worth buying then they will sit on the shelf until the price drops.

Because if mana bases are too easy then the colors become useless. Eternal formats have nonbasic land hate to punish people for such a widespread manabase. Standard doesn't have the same thing, it also doesn't have a huge card selection, this is a recipe for a non-varied format. It'd become 5 color good stuff vs Borros aggro.
I think it depends on how much we can glean. People get excited about spoilers because they contain new cards, but we've done them for core sets in the past so I don't see why this set wouldn't get one.

If Wotc spoils the set that far in advance. I think it would be cool to not release anything other then what they have until after Vegas.
