I think its pretty sad that people are talking about a less good edict, I guess gtc was poopy for modern. I was looking for good sleeper cards, but I couldnt find any

Yeah, I was gonna ask if anyone else thought it was lack luster for Modern. There's the Boros Charm, but that might be the only thing I see that's interesting. The rest of it doesn't really excite me, I'm sure people will find some small things, but nothing major like last set. The fact that nothing is really up for Legacy either really says things about the set. The last few sets have had things for some format to change it in a major way, this one just seems meh.
I stuck Boros Reckoner in a Zoo deck that abuses Volcanic Fallout (thank other MTGS posters for the idea!), and the Spitemare clause on a 3-cmc 3/3 is surprisingly good. About the only things that can profitably block it are 0/X's or 1/X's with huge butts (better chump with all your Lingering Souls tokens at once). It can even trade with Wurmcoil Engine or at least negate its Lifelink once. Bolting it usually leads to losing one of your own guys.
Of course, it promptly ate black and white removal. But it seems to behave somewhat like a cheaper Phyrexian Obliterator.
We in the Goblins thread have been trying out Foundry Street Denizen instead of Goblin Cohort, and my, the guy can be nuts. Drop 2 1-drops on Turn 2 and he's a 3/1. Don't pay some Mogg War Marshal's echo, then play another MWM, and he's a 4/1 later in the game. Thump down a lord and he's a 3/2. He's like the better half of a Goblin Piledriver. Heck, I can see this guy in Legacy Goblins.
Just gonna chime in that Shmanka is clearly wrong here and likely a troll for trying to say Devour is strictly better than Terminate
Iirc he said Sword of Feast and Famine was trash when it was spoiled.
Then again, a lot of people did. Hard to take anyone seriously.
Having said that, it's definitely NOT better than terminate.
Why would you even play it over Geth's Verdict tho? People aren't getting in line to play that either, and it's been around for as long as Modern has existed. You need BB anyways to cast Liliana.

Jund probably would rather play Geth's Verdict because it does appreciate being able to race other decks and it can support BB pretty well.
Wafo-Tapa Teachings plays few enough black lands that it can't reliably find BB before Turn 5 (and even casting Consume the Meek can be a stretch sometimes), so Devour Flesh is great for it. (It's a UWRb deck.)
