Allies in Modern will be bad for the same reason allies in Standard were - sweepers. Boros charm might make that a bit better but its still a rough matchup. I think I ran UWR allies in Zendikar standard. If my opponent didn't have DoJ, I was in business. Otherwise, it was a tough sell.

I run Ghostway in my ally deck to stop sweepers, though it still is just a fun deck, since it's easy to disrupt. Just remove any of the creatures and you stop allies.
If only you didn't have to over extend with allies to do anything

Allies was bad in Standard so what makes you think they'd be any good in Modern with even more powerful cards to fight them with?
The problem with allies, and WotC does this all the time, is they dropped them after Zendikar and Worldwake when ROE came out. That was a bad move if you wanted to make allies viable.
In addition to that, in order to give them any chance to succeed, you MUST overextend. And we all know how that ends up.
I don't see allies as having any chance to be a competitive deck in Modern.
The thing about allies is they are easy to bring back. Even in core sets so maybe in the future if we see them come back and some better ones are printed it'll be viable.

Basically, if you want to open packs to get cards for Standard and Modern, the simpler approach is to just buy all the singles you need and then set some money on fire to make up the difference.
I'm not one to say "this deck is bad" without seeing it in action, but on first appearances, it has many of the same weaknesses slivers has: overextends too often, needs multiple colors for sub-par effects, and the card pool is unnecessarily narrow due to the demands of type-based synergies.
Also, I can't imagine Ghostway really protecting against wrath very well. In most modern games I've played, you can only expect to draw between 4 and 6 cards naturally. They all need to be threats, combo setup pieces, or answers to threats or combos. Ghostway is far too easy to play around, isn't flexible at all, and doesn't interact with other decks.
For example, Mana Leak is better wrath protection, cheaper, and deals with threats. Granted, it doesn't synergize with this deck, but you're actually giving up on some very relevant effects to make an allies deck.

I'm not disagreeing with you, its not really competitive but it can win and is quite fun to play. Ghostway was chosen because it has them all ETB gaining effects.
I even said so in my post.

I'm considering bant allies, did fairly well on cockatrice, I destroyed most people with a casual build, I used negates, but mana
Leak would probably be better.
Allies is acutally an incredibly fast aggro deck. It normally wins the game before the opponent even has a chance to Wrath. Adaptive Automaton put the deck over the top. I've been playing with it for almost a year now with pretty good results.
Naya allies is possibly the most plausible build, but it is still a fringe budget deck against the mainstream modern meta, especially with the loss of BBE
Admittedly, BBE getting banned hurt alot. But Mirror Entity has done an admirable job in its place. A buddy of mine has gone i think 18-2 with allies in tournaments over the past month or so. He's been playing

It's too bad Sea Gate Loremaster costs 5 and there's no Haste Ally because the decks needs a better course of card advantage.
Also Aether Vial, of course. There's some potential, maybe I'll experiment with it a bit.

4x Oran-Rief Survivalist
4x Hada Freeblade
4x Kazandu Blademaster
4x Kabira Evangel
2x Talus Paladin
4x Bloodbraid Elf
4x Path to Exile
2x Oblivion ring
Adaptive Automaton can work, but is not nearly as good as BBE in this deck.
4 Kazandu Blademaster
4 Harabaz Druid
4 Akoum Battlesinger
2 Ondu Cleric
2 Oran-Reif Survivalist
4 Kabira Evangel
4 Adaptive Automaton
4 Mirror Entity
3 Talus Paladin
2 Tuktuk Scrapper
1 Sea Gate Loremaster
4 Cavern of Souls
4 Arid Mesa
2 Sacred Foundry
1 Temple Garden
1 Stomping Ground
1 Halowed Fountain
1 Kessig Wolf Run
3 Plains
1 Mountain
3 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
2 Kira, Great Glass-Spinner
2 Nature's Claim
2 Ancient Grudge
3 Dauntless Escort
1 Sea Gate Loremaster
2 Ondu Cleric
I was playing BBE before the ban in place of Mirror Entity. Automaton actually enables the turn 3 kill. I wouldn't play the deck without it
4x Hada Freeblade
4x Kazandu Blademaster
4x Phantasmal Image
3-4x Ondu Cleric
3-4 Kabira Evangel
Then personally I would fill out the deck with anti-control cards
2-3x Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
2-3x Gaddock Teeg
4x Aether Vial
and then
3-4x Path to Exile
counterspells: Mana Leaks, negates, and spell snares
Its probably not going to win any big tournaments, but I could see that list hitting a few favorable matchups and top 8ing a ptq or something
