I just wanted to get some thoughts from other members about what they feel are the best decks (best in general, best aggro, best control). I would also like to know what decks people feel have the least bad matchups. I wanted to have some more knowledge for myself and others getting into modern as to why these decks are the best. Thanks for the thoughts and help.

Aggro: Affinity
Combo: Scapeshift
Control: UWR "Wafo-Tapa"/Tap-out
Midrange: Jund
Tempo: UWR Delver (Tempo is not good in Modern at the moment though)
There is no one best deck. There was in the past (Jund), then BBE got banned.
Jund is (was?) known as the 55/45 deck, in that every matchup is 55% in Jund's favor. It doesn't have any free wins, but it doesn't have free losses either.

Ramp: Tron
...Which is coincidentally Jund's "free loss". Jund's far from 55/45 every matchup; generally the easier a deck is to disrupt, the better Jund will be against it.
The most successful decklists (tier 1 and consistent tier 1.5) can be found in the Proven section. That said, the numbers indicate:
Aggro: Affinity/Robots
-Honorable mentions: Gruul Zoo, Tribal Zoo, Bogle
-Underplayed: Naya Zoo, RDW, Boros Combo: Pod
-Honorable mentions: Scapeshift and Twin
-Underplayed: Living End (absolutely underplayed), Glass Cannon Griselbrand, Elemental Combo, Restore Balance Midrange: Jund
-Honorable mentions: UWR midrange, Junk, Domri Naya/Kibler Zoo
-Underplayed: Bant, D&T, GW Control: Wafo-Tapa (UWR)
-Underplayed: Sadly there are not a lot of other competitive options. Ramp: Tron
-Honorable mention: Elves seems likely. Tempo: UWR Delver (to the extent tempo is competitive, right now)
-Honorable mention: RUG Delver, Merfolk, Fae
-Underplayed: Mystic Snake
I consider Ramp its own archetype, while others look at it as combo..or something. Elves is a bit blurry, because it can be ramp, aggro, or combo. One thing all elves decks have in common is excessive ramp.

Combo: Splinter Twin

Some of you guys seem to be living in the past a little...Pod is definitely the best combo deck (too hard to say which version is best) and UWR Midrange has been better than Jund ever since BBE got the ban hammer.
ETA: Both RG and Mono U Tron are tier 1 decks as well. Like Pod it's too hard to say one is better than the other.

Am I the only one who thinks 4c Gifts is way stronger than UWR draw-go for control?
The UWR draw go wafo tapa style deck hasn't put up any results. Where as 4c gifts has GP top 8s. So the gifts deck is stronger. However, this gift deck doesn't jump to my mind as a control deck though, so i can see why people have over looked it.
I feel like Affinity is the Dredge of the format (though less consistant, thankfully). Sits a bit on the outside, but if you're not prepared it can be a beating.

I also strongly agree with this. Gifts is quietly one of the most powerful cards in the format.
But UWR is played a lot more, so it's thought of more. But I do agree.

The Dredge of Modern is Storm. Or it was, until it got banned.
