Melira Pod is not a hard deck to play in the least once you practice for a little while. It can be tough to pick back up when you're out of practice, however, because it doesn't really have any analogous decks in the format.
My problem isn't so much with decks as it is with certain cards.
Behold the list of offenders:
1. Melira (Pod is extremely strong even without the infinite combos, but they push it over the top)
2. Snapcaster Mage (love the guy but he's broken. Having everything you do negated by UWR and them having another 4 very live cards to topdeck makes it a very frustrating game)
3. Anything with cascade (it's a stupid mechanic)
4. Valakut (difficult to answer, most non-aggro and non-control decks can't beat it)
5. Path to Exile (I use it but it's broken; 1 mana unconditional removal with a small drawback)
6. Tron lands & Academy Ruins (turn 3 Sundering Titan, Wurmcoil, Karn, and then Ruins to reanimate the former two? No thanks!)
7. Aether Vial (it's a little too strong)
So... you basically hate the main cards in most tier 1 decks?
EDIT: I play all kinds of decks (budget GR aggro, UWR and Melirapod in paper), but what I really love to play is tempo... which isn't really viable in modern nowadays. The worst deck to play against is frikkin Boggle - if your deck doesn't have liliana or smallpox you either waste sideboard slots on enchantmet destruction, or you are dead. The deck is too fast to be really bothered by counters and totem armos makes it shrug off most wraths. Griselbanned is really annoying to play against too, just because of its 'turn 2 simian spirit guide into faithless looting discard Griselbrand reanimate and win' godhand.
eh, It requires a level of finess higher than all-in or turn thins sideways. mediocrity is common with the deck when a lot of people play it
That's how the deck wins 90% of the time. If you can count numbers in your head, you can play pod. I don't get how it's any more difficult to play than storm, scapeshift or anything not aggro.
Complaining how some people are poor pilots doesn't mean anything as to how hard a deck is to play. I know that there are some really really masterful aggro players and a much larger swathe of players that just dump their hand and call it quits when they fail to kill you T5.

I love watching any deck that uses storm to win. I egg them on to pull it off it because I think it's fun to watch, but I'm disappointed if they don't get it working
As for the deck I hate? Eggs. So boring, even if they use storm, its just the same thing every game, no interaction. Who wants to play solitare?

I don't hate them, I just dislike them. Exploited mechanics/overpowered cards aren't fun to play against and don't take much skill to use. Just my $0.02, of course. I do, however, enjoy modern in the bigger picture.
i dislike playing against decks that people genuinely like playing. why should they be able to enjoy the format when decks i want to play are not allowed?
Btw, this is going our next podcast of modern marvels because I literally laughed out loud when I read this.
Also, some other posts might be getting a mention as well Our last listener question was: what decks do you dislike playing against and why? It was oddly convenient that this thread showed up.
It's a pretty easy deck to play imo. It's not really hard to pick up.
