Rather disappointing to see they still don't just put the kind of deck that's being played under the player's name in video coverage like SCG always does...
I might be weird, but I like trying to figure it out. It's good practice to be like, "okay, turn 1 Misty, pass... this is either Pod, Scapeshift with no Search For Tomorrow to suspend, Twin, UR Faeries, a Storm variant, RUG, or BUG Infect..." And then narrow it down as you see more cards.

If the board is reasonably developed I can usually figure it out quickly, but it'd still be nice if they did it so I can figure out what's going on at a glance.
Showing the win records on screen would be a nice touch also.
Did the feed just go down for anyone else?
EDIT: Ah, it's back now. Apparently there was a blackout!

I don't get why Shahar's deck plays blade splicers when most of the cards are instant speed. I guess it's better vs jund.
Yeah, I guess maybe it allows the deck to grind out value a little better and not have to depend so much on assembling the combo. It seems like it would play sort of like Melira Pod (value dudes with combo potential), but with more tricks.

There's always geist if you want to play sorcery speed 3 drops. Which also combos with angel and burn. Though it doesn't look like he's running helix.

The only thing I can figure is that Geist doesn't have any synergy with Kiki-Jiki, but Blade Splicer does. Also, Blade Splicer is much better against Liliana.
One was a river, but I think that the other was an old border artifact.
I turned on the stream toward the end of the game, but I think the one near the upper edge of the screen was an old-bordered black card. There might have been an old Ensnaring Bridge in there too, though.
I'm really hoping for Tezzerator, mostly because I hate Scapeshift.
Doesn't sound like he made it
Scapeshift seems like it would be a hard matchup for that deck. I don't know the list he's running, but their countermagic suite tends to be pretty light and/or conditional (e.g. Spell Snare), and they don't run a lot of other relevant hate for the matchup.

It destroys Affinity. Etched Champions not being able to get through means that Affinity really has no real way to get damage through except a really big Arcbound Ravager, which can be Pathed.
Love the tech, it basically shores up ALL of UWR's weaknesses.

I think his ONLY silver bullet is/was Witchbane Orb. That match up has got to sting a bit. lol
EDIT:
Did everyone see the Mono-Green Nykthos deck? It looked underwhelming. If it had Magus of the Candelabra, and Thousand-Year Elixir for some untapping goodness, it might have been something. But no, it's a straight up, Elfball-esque deck minus the draw engine.
I was the Tezzeret player. About the Scapeshift matchup: apart from Witchbane Orb I played a bunch of discard (5 main 3 sb) and after sb I had 2 extirpates which can combine with Ghost Quarter to take away Valakut or with discard to remove Scapeshifts. For Titan there's Torpor Orb and Ensnaring Bridge or Executioner's Capsule. But I didn't really draw the relevant cards, or the Tezzerets (I played 7) to find them. Oh well.
You really just need to embrace the rage. I keep a small colony of hamsters next to my computer and every time I lose a match to mana screw I throw one against the wall.

Eeewwwwwww, gross.
And now it is gone again.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.

Is he playing Bottled Cloister?? Seems good with Ensnaring Bridge, that's for sure.

Seems like the deck most well positioned for the meta to me. It has answers to everything, it's basically a better 50% deck than UWR.
He is, didn't help though.

Looks like 8th/9th Edition Phyrexian Arena and an Ice Age Underground River.
