I expect the total dollar value of the rares to be around $125-$150.
I know these are sold only to B&M Stores. Are they sold to only WPN stores? Are the number of copies limited? The first batches of these they put out seemed really good, but later editions didn't seem to excite the fans. (Talking about the standard ones)

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
I think the tokens really tell the story here. 5 isn't enough for Twin. No one would ever use them. 5 is an Odd number, I think that leaves Tron out. Voice is in standard (and will be when this is released. So, I think Milera Pod is out.
Process of elimination: BW tokens. It is pretty good, has different kinds of tokens, wizards doesn't have to reprint fetches just yet, and it isnt difficult to play
That's my guess. BW tokens.

I'll never understand these guesses of BW Tokens. The whole purpose of this deck is to introduce some more reprints. It's certainly not going to be an out of the box go compete in major events deck. So if the purpose is to reprint cards what does BW Tokens offer the format for other decks to use outside of lands? Almost nothing. A vast majority of the BW Tokens deck is not used in any other decks OR was just reprinted (Thoughtseize). If you don't want to play BW Tokens what would people buy it for, they will just look at it and say "nothing here is usable for me".
The choice is going to be something that can offer other players cards who do not necessarily want to play the deck in the box.

Actually thats almost completely incorrect. The point of the Event Decks is not to help the established players gouge the price by buying them all up for reprints. Its to help newer players get into modern. Tokens is the perfect deck for New players. They love creatures, and making a bunch of dudes is awesome to them. Most of the cards are commons and uncommons and WotC doesn't have to feel bad about putting in playsets of commons and uncommons, and they can still include 3 or 4 Inquisition of Kozilek, which as an $8 uncommon, IMO totally in need of reprint. And knowing wizards, they would probably put in some amount of duress which isn;'t actually a bad card in modern, plus like 1 thoughtseize. The deck will likely be worth $100-$150 , but $75 MSRP allows someone who really wants to get into modern to not have to rip their wallet in half. Also, they may already own some amount of thoughtseize from standard, and those would slot right in to the Tokens deck too.

I'm not insisting I am right, I am just throwing a guess out there. What is yours?
Tron is the other one I would consider if it weren't for the amount of mythics in the deck.
Edit: I also agree with Tinfoil. The FTV releases are clearly where they want to reprint cards. Modern is Wizards baby, they want more people to play it. I don't think they want people who already play legacy and modern to buy these up. They want these for players who want to get in to modern and maybe go 2-3 at their LGS instead of getting beat into the ground every week with their delver deck that isn't standard legal anymore. You could set back some twin players, who seem to be growing in number, with 2 Soul Warden in play and another in hand.
Edit 2: I would l LOVE to see tron in some form though. New art on Tron lands in modern frames with black borders that aren't foils? Yes please!!!

I'm completely guessing a functional rogue deck not one of the established ones being suggested. I put my guess above with Jund Pod. It's flexible, relatively easy to learn but harder to master, and allows a good number of cards to be reprinted since it won't require playsets.

Okay, here's what I've got.
Firstly we know it is an 'event deck' which is designed to get newer players into playing magic competitively. As with the previous standard event decks should be:
1. Easy to use, as in you can explain how to play it on the back of one of those mini leaflets you get after buying an event deck/duel deck etc. etc.
2. Fun to play
2. Can do decently in a competitive tournament, e.g. FNM. You should be able to win at least 1 match out of 5.
That basically rules out any form of hard to play combo deck.
Secondly we know that the decks utilise tokens in some form or fashion. Potentially for birthing pod/splitter twin/or an actual tokens deck.
Next we know that for $75USD (I live in NZ, so after a bit of inflation this will be about $110-130NZD), whilst buying singles alone, you cannot make a top tier deck. You may be able to get away with a very budget urzatron deck, but it will not go 5/0 at your local game store's modern tournament. After looking at the value of previous event decks, the value of the deck should not be exceeding 125% of the RRP(thinking in NZD, where the event decks are about $30). Round that up the deck should not be worth more than $100USD. Looking at standard event decks they may have 1 fetch land like standard events have shock lands, which account for roughly half of the decks value.
If we look at 2 recent event decks, the THS one and DGM one. We can see that though they did print staples of cards in some decks e.g. Precinct captain for white weenie, as with advent of the wurm for selesnya style decks. An important thing to note here is that they were '1 ofs' in most cases. I'm guessing this is to keep existing players in the format from buying all of a store's stock of a certain event deck. My prediction is, if they have a splitter twin/pod deck, most of the staples will be 1 ofs.
Also, a point to keep in mind, is the fact that they stated the decks come with 80 exclusive card sleeves. I can guess that there may be some art of an iconic card in the deck, e.g. Sleeves of kiki-jiki apart for a splitter twin deck. These sleeves do excite new players, like how the duel decks have 1 card that is really cool, like a planeswallker, or a legendary creature.
Another note is that the archetype may not be as established as an archetype like splitter twin or pod, like the UW heroic deck for theros. It has a roughly 50/50 chance of being a budgetized net deck or not.
Example of a possible budgetized net deck (affinity):
do you know where they will be sold? online or just in stores? I just want to get one (if they are good) before scalpers. you probably know how that is with MM and all. I have yet to actually see one of those packs. any online sellers likely?

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
1 goyf is all we need, while putting the deck at 45tix on MTGO.
I dont see that happening. They wouldnt put a $125+ card in a deck that they sell for $75. The group of cards may add up to $100, but not a single card.
I would rather players have access to a Modern deck, so we could play Modern
I tried looking at this for a few seconds to see if there was any hidden context but I'm still left baffled. Fetchlands are almost synonymous with Modern, so by playing Modern you are playing Fetchlands.

Although this would be very cool, if this were true, then all of the hoarders would just empty the shelves of Wal-Mart, Target, etc. and thus wait until they can profit. The losers will be the people who actually want to use goyfs in their decks.

To Wizards, the card isn't worth 125+. Its 125+ on the secondary market. It would be nice to have it in there, but if they do, then the secondary market price will skyrocket. Hopefully they will allow Wal-Mart to stock these, since the Wal-Mart here still sells Mind Seize Commander 2013 decks at MSRP (when you can actually find them). A LGS or worse, SCG, will mark this up 200% if there is a tarmo in there...

Note the "on MTGO" in his post. If it's $75 IRL it will be $75 online and most of these decks are about even value online (Not FTV Jace, but Duel/Event Decks).
So if you want to go by that:
Burn is $117, BW Tokens $222, Hatebears $354 (with $70 of that in Horizon Canopy), Scapeshift $329 ($80 in Cryptic Command), Affinity is $350 ($200 is Mox Opal), Tron is $400 with $180 in Karn).
I could see Hatebears or Affinity since neither of those cards are really necessary for a budget version, although printing Affinity w/out at least 1 Mox Opal is a crime.

What you are totally glossing over is Wotc needs the LGS's on their side. Pissing off the LGS's by low balling a card they are selling for $100+ would be a bad business move on Wotc's part.
Wotc may say they pay no attention to the secondary market, but they have to to keep the game going.

Pissed or not the LGS will buy plenty of products with sealed Goyfs in there. But no I do not think we will be getting a goyf.
