Assuming Teferi and Jace aren't Control's Finest, a dynamic duo so to speak.
Teferi helps keep Jace on board. Jace helps with Teferi's ult. Dynamic duo for sure.
Regarding the prices, Jace had been hovering in the 90-100 range for a long time, while banned in modern. The extra supply from the masters set is unlikely to bring his price down much lower than it is already. Especially after the hype of him saving control died down.
Do you think Jace, the midsculptor will get cheaper in the next 4-6 months?
I follow its price in mkm and he's been 70-75 euros for more than 2 months.
Certainly... he already is getting cheaper. Fetch printings like WW and FTV will probably hold steady, but EM / A25 printings can be picked up in the 70-75 range off of TCG at this very moment. If you buy cards off the Facebook groups a good deal with land you at about 65$.
Jace didn't turn out to be the boogeyman everyone thought he would be... far from it actually and Jeskai / Teferi just had a really solid weekend in Louisville. A writer at modern nexus touched upon the subject well:
Jace needs to be built around and supported because he is fragile. Jace will take over a game as few other walkers can if left unchallenged, but with Lightning Bolt‘s resurgence that is very unlikely. Teferi is not as powerful as Jace, but he is easier to wield. Jace’s best mode adds no loyalty, unlike Teferi, but Teferi also allows you to tap out and then protect him during the opponent’s turn. This is a huge plus in Teferi’s favor, as ease of use frequently beats raw power

Most of the time yes. I don't think Krark's Thumb has been used on anything by Saffron Olive on MTGGoldfish recently though. I'm going with the weird EDH coin flip and new BBD cards printed spiking it. Couldn't find any in the bulk rare box at my LGS today either although I've seen them in there times past. Someone figured it out there.

Surprised at the price of Lyra dawnbringer. I suppose the price could be standard demand, or maybe there are some who think of her as the next baneslayer angel? I just want to get one for collection purposes. Buy now at 18-20$ or wait for price to go down?

How bad do you want it? It's very, very good in Standard and that's probably not going to change until it rotates. I bet it eventually hits a floor of around $5 but that's going to be 2 years from now. Is 2 years worth $15 to you?
I pray that Karn and Teferi dominate the Pro Tour so I can cash in. Glad I bought those Teferis when people where saying he be garbage in Modern granted I may be biased he is one of my favorite walkers so that could have bit me in the behind.
As for Lyra it depends do you play standard? If so and you like any white deck you probably need her if not well dont but presumably Ravnica will give some good fliers.....

Yeah, it's not too common to see a set where both walkers are seeing modern play. Karn is seeing play across multiple formats.

Fact.
Affinity has been hot garbage in Legacy for years and that's being nice. Karn pumped the deck into a top 4 finish at GP Birmingham at the first opportunity. Some legacy players are slow to change, but he's starting to pop up and if Vintage Shops players haven't nabbed him yet, they're going to.

Thanks for the info. The only reason I want Lyra is for nostalgia on Dominaria, because she's the same surname as Reya Dawnbringer. I can put off buying if the price is still above 10$.

Despite being all shiny, he isn’t actually an arfifact. Are shops players likely to take the risk on a card they can’t actually use Workshop mana to get cast?
Lol that be interesting what if Planeswalkers had creature types? What new depths of depravity would Humans sink to if they could cast almost any walker they wanted to go with their creatures.......

Absolutely. Between Lotus, Moxen, Ancient Tombs, etc there's enough mana to get Karn out quickly. And once he's there, the game is over more or less.
Karn is still handily available on eBay under $55. SCG likely just pumped in preparation for any possible PT spikes.
I got 2 of them for Karnfinnity off Facebook a day ago for $44 and $45 each, so people can definitely get cheaper if they want. (It was either that or wait until my LGS had them in stock and pay $55 store credit, which I actually prefer.)

There is very little that lines up favorably to Lyra post rotation baring some incredible uncommons in the core set. I can't see anything but it spiking once rotation hits. Once she resolves the only way to answer her is almost at mana parity (Vraska's contempt, sweepers) or select sideboard cards (plummet, crushing canopy). If she sticks then it's usually GG. She brick walls phoenixes quite well and dodges cast down, burn, etc.
Karn is also nuts. Given how much people were willing to plow into baby Jace with little to no results behold him outside of standard, I'm surprised karn is available for so cheap.
well baby jace was inflated somewhat because it was one of a few chase cards in magic origins at the time. also at various points in its standard lifetime it was seeing more play than karn is right now in standard - which is a lot. it also started out underrated, so when it exploded onto the scene the community overshot the mark; such as people believing it could/would be a thing in modern.
karn showing up as a 1 or 2 of in various non-standard decks is a relatively small source of demand. especially if the card is seen as a sidegrade or small upgrade at best. for example decks like mono-red prison or steel stompy in legacy. those decks were already becoming a force in the format, so you cant really attribute their uprising to karn. if those decks continue to do significantly better i think people might catch on. the same goes for karn in modern affinity. if it its seeing play but affinity is doing roughly the same; then why would people bother shelling out.

I am thinking about building Storm. Do you think the price of Baral, Chief of Compliance and Spirebluff Canal will drop at rotation? They currently do not see any Standard play. So I am thinking that rotation will not change their price at all.
