It's also possible that it could show up in Conspiracy, though I think MM2 is a bit more likely....
Conspiracy will have a lot of reprints, although i think that they would be functional reprints for a multiplayer draft environment, there is in your opinion room for some modern staple reprint?
- L
I wouldn't be surprised to see some reprints aimed at modern in Conspiracy, especially because it will boost the value and make the set more appealing to open. Fulminator Mage I think has a lower chance of being included, as it doesn't really seem like something that's great in multiplayer, but I think that it has a lot to do with what lands end up in the set. I could also see Damnation in Conspiracy if it doesn't make it's way into the upcoming FtV and they don't want to wait for MM2. There are a ton of cards that would fit here, the question is simply how many do they want to print....
Spirit will see play in Death and Taxes in Legacy, cause you can flash it in with Aether Vial in response to Brainstorm. I don't see it being of much use in Modern.
I'm thinking about putting together UR Storm to play with my budget "competitive" casual playgroup and was wondering how you guys think Serum Visions and Sleight of Hand, and of course Pyro Ascension, are going to change? Should I hold off for a bit? Or get them asap?
Inclined to agree, I Scapeshift already saw its big jump at the Modern event that SCG ran. It used to be down at 8-9 and doubled in the last few months. I expect it to maybe hit $20 for a few weeks after the win, but I think it is here to stay at $15-16 for the time being.
Yeah, Fulminator is the easiest to cast (due to hybrid mana) and best at what he does, but there are quite a few cards that are strong replacements. He can do considerable damage, team up to kill Goyfs, etc. chump horrible things like Wurmcoils with no life gain before saccing him to take out a land or just take out a land straight away. He's useful in various paradigms which is what puts him above other options, however, I don't believe he should be valued at his current price - he is very very good though.
This is what I was reasoning as well. I mainly want to use him against Tron being a better Tectonic Edge because I'm usually dead if they hit their 4th land. Fulminator might just be better suited for my Death Cloud deck than others as he is reverse Sakura-Tribe Elder that wants to blow up lands and can potentially blank an attacker while doing so. Saving my own life points and getting rid of threatening lands is something my deck wants to do. I guess its price has more to do with its scarcity than the amount it has seen in Modern play.
The $40 list price tag on Fulminator is insane and significantly higher than you can actually find them for.
I've been keeping an eye out for them on eBay as I still need 1-2 more after today, snagged my second this afternoon (NM on a Buy it now for $24). If you aren't in a rush to get them in paper and cant wait a few days, you can easily snag them individually for a bit under $30 a pop, or better if you are really patient. I saw an action for four of them go for just under $90 today as well (granted they were somewhat played, meaning I wasn't interested thanks to my OCD). Regardless, look for deals, as that $40 price tag via TCG is higher than reality (which is to be expected), but in this case it seems to be significantly higher than I typically see when comparing auction sites vs TCG player/the online shops.

You are absolutely right, there are several BIN eBay auctions for Fulminator going for around $30 or less. Thanks!
so, I would assume this GP isn't going to change much, only the decks that were already on top placed, pretty boring, but do you think it will make any prices go up? was there a new card i missed, some shiny new interaction? or will it have no impact at all?

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
I only caught part of the coverage, but I didn't see anything that jumped out at me specifically.
I expect we'll see more people continue to return to Jund, but it is already a very expensive deck and I'm not sure how much the price can/will increase. Scapeshift is on everyone's radar even more so now, but most of its cards are specific only to the deck, so I don't think the cost to build it is going to change much. Pod is already popular and most lists are known quantities, again, don't see much price changes for anything in this deck, same goes for Twin.
Runed Halo had a clutch game on stream where it shut down two Goyfs on board, but it already spiked based on the previous event coverage by SCG.
The only really groundbreaking/unexpected thing I saw was the Bow from the Theros set as a one of in a list that did some work on stream.
Other than that, not expecting much for changes, but I may have missed something as I only saw around half of the coverage.
Wondering if you guys think Scalding Tarn will rise, fall, or hold? Going through some of my cards and found it.
let me just start with, YOU JUST FOUND A TARN? I HATE YOU! lol, jk. now that that is taken care of, I would sell, they will eventually get reprinted, probably sooner than later. unless you are using it, which seems unlikely, i doubt it can really go much higher before people sell and find other decks

I'm fairly sure that shocklands will not drop any lower. Most shocklands have been rising for the past 1-2 months (on average $1.75) in that time. Because everyone knows shocklands will gain in value they will not have the typical rise and fall that most cards do when they leave standard
buy your shocks asap if you want the lowest prices. (I have 10/40 so far)

Lol, thanks. Used to draft with my friends for fun. Haven't touched MTG in awhile and I was just going through some of my stuff and found it with some other cards.
What the heck, are blood crypts worth less?? I have been constantly been able to pick them up for an easy $6-7 per card on ebay if your on at the right time of day, is this a good price??
Value is good. But Dredgevine isn't supposed to be about value. It's supposed to be about V-8; 2000 pounds of nitro boosted war vegetables. The more velocity, the better.

I'd say yes, they are definitely used in standard. But here on the modern board, if we were to discuss the most prominent deck that uses them, Jund, you'll find them as 0/1/2-ofs.
In fact, the top 16 list of GP Minnie saw only 2 copies - one-of in each of the Jund lists.
I think they're preferring to max out on Raging Ravines / Backcleave Cliffs instead.
