From what I can tell, the print run on Conspiracy will likely be larger than Modern Masters, but smaller than a standard set.
I really don't feel like looking it up in the Conspiracy thread, but I am almost certain that MaRo wasb quoted stating that Conspiracy would have an "unlimited" print-run, in that they would keep reprinting it if people keep buying it (to a certaint extent I expect). Non-U.S. shops have a different distribution system so they might have a hard time filling demand, but if U.S. demand is high then they will reprint it as needed.
Granted, any Modern staple reprints in Conspiracy would still likely not be printed in enough quantity to affect prices much, but I just wanted to share that.
If you're into UR of any variant I'd pick up Sulfur Falls soon, this will surge past Steam Vents' price soon.
It's a 4-of in many decks, Vents is usually not seen in the full set outside of Storm or people that missed the boat on fetches.
I'd wait until we are about half way through Modern season at least, but before we near the end. They rose and just saw a minor dip again from what I can tell. When they aren't announced in M15 or the next set, combined with Modern being in full swing, then sell them.
Saw this as well, I like having cards for multiple decks, and have a full playset of tar pits currently. Is there any deck out there that plays more than 3 of these? I can't imagine jamming four of them, even in an esper or U/B brew currently. To sell one or not to sell one...

I'd never break the playset.
They're only the best practical manland (don't listen to Colonnade proponents, they're insane) for Magic
But seriously, I'm parking on my playset, they've served me well in the past and I'd hate to lose one only to pay a small fortune down the line to replace it.
I'm far too deep in the thick of things to sell my value UB cards... might as well bite the bullet, wait out for Bitterblossom reprints if/when, and work on making Faeries out of my jank UB pile...
The only place I could see for running 4x is in a true U/B Draw-Go build where they were the primary win condition, so much like a person would do if running a W/U draw-go deck. Since that deck is not going to be making waves anytime soon I think you could do with three if you want.
I've been out of the loop for a few weeks what with one thing and another, so I only saw Aaron Forsythe's statement about fetches last night.
Am I the only one who feels that basically saying "no fetches anytime soon" rather than one of the more standard "maybe" comments we get from WotC is about the worst thing he could have done? I mean with a maybe, prices were... not capped but their price rise was put on a slower curve because vendors wouldn't want to be paying $35 a fetch (arbitrary number as I can't be bothered to go to buylists for this) only to have them reprinted and their price to drop to $35 retail.
But with a "no reprints anytime soon" statement, it gives vendors a chance at free reign. They now know that there aren't any more coming so they can keep pushing prices up, pushing modern's prices more and more into the ridiculous. Rainforest and Tarn are in dual land price ranges and WotC want to push modern for their non-rotating format, but they're not doing the essential things required to bring the barrier to entry down.
I agree 100%. I wish he just didn't hint at anything and let the unknown future of reprints slow the price growth of fetches even in the same scenario as "no fetches anytime soon". I still have a faint hope that Aaron Forsythe was trolling the community by saying that. I mean I refused to purchase Verdant Catacombs at $28 a piece a couple months ago for my Modern deck, and now I don't even want to look what they are at now.

And yet the only activity on fetch prices since his announcement is a small dip, not a rise.
THIS 100X!!! If you don't agree with this then there is no amount of logic that will ever convince you that good, non-oppressive, combos should be allowed. If you don't agree with it then just don't play this game, and you certainly shouldn't feel entitled to make any comment on ban lists ever.

Noble Hierarch needs a reprint. It's the last piece to my pod deck.
Since I doubt we will see Exalted come back any time soon your best bet will be a future MM.
That's probably true. I'm at the point where I think I'd trade off a Goyf for like 3 of them. Goyf is slowly losing his equity in this format.
Funny, I was just talking to someone from our group last night when I saw 3 Nobles in his binder. He got them by trading away 3 Boros Reckoner at a shop that desperately wanted some Standard stuff and at the time the Reckoner was at its peak and Noble was back down around $30-ish.

That's probably a good choice. WotC is not happy about Goyf's price. I don't know how they lower it (or ban him outright in modern), but they will.
They aren't going to ban it or lower its price. If they wanted it to be cheaper, it would have been a rare, not a mythic, in Modern Masters. Also, Wizards has never banned a card due to price. They aren't going to start now, especially since only 7 decks use it (Tarmo-Twin, Junk, Jund, BG Rock, 4C Gifts, Big Zoo, and Small Zoo).
Less and less decks are playing him, and more importantly the decks that do play him haven't been placing particularly well. (I say this realizing Jund was in the finals of GP Minneapolis and RUG Twin was well-to-do in Pro Tour Spain) But as has been the case in legacy, such will be the case in modern. Goyf is extremely efficient. But that isn't really enough when it's more important to play cards that "do things."

Then why is it still $190 on TCGplayer? When cards go up, they go up through the roof. When they drop, they barely drop.
I should really quantify my statement. Goyf certainly will not get less valuable in the sense of money. He has been, for the last handful of years really, been decreasing in value to the game. There was a time in seven year extended when mono blue permission decks were splashing solely for him. He is, and will always will be the pinnacle of efficient beats. But efficient beats aren't worth as much as they used to be, in this format or legacy. That's what I mean when he is losing equity.

Probably because it's not. It's $155 on TCG. Stop saying it's $190 when it hasn't been that anywhere except StarCity for weeks, maybe even months, now.

Dont forget cards have price memory to an extent. If you were buying Goyfs for $150 when they were $190, would you sell those Goyfs for under what you bought them for? I am talking without a reprint it works this way. There are a lot of cards that see little to no play in any format and they are pricey. Its simple price memory.
Goyf looks pretty silly in a lot of matchups like GR tron. My compadres in the 4c gifts thread like him, as beats--but then he is super vulnerable to anti-graveyard tech. I think he really is best in jund which doesn't use the graveyard except to hose it with ooze and make big goyfs. Its why living end doesn't play him, it makes you sort of all in on graveyard stuff where the hate is super strong.

It begins.
...wait, no.
It creeps.
Would you say the same of non-blue fetches? I have 10 ZEN fetches (some blue, some not) and wondering whether to sell now or a little later.
