I play UR Delver (Spellstutter Sprite version) and I'm pretty stoked about Void Snare and to a slightly lesser extent Quickling.
Void Snare seems like just what you want to keep the Tempo going, in the mid game. Even though we play a lot of countermagic, sometimes permanents sneak through that basically wreck you. This could give you either another bite at the apple to counter it, or a turn or two, depending on Snapcaster, to keep bashing in. Being a sorcery is less than ideal, but at one mana the deck will still have live plays when you have two, three, or four lands in play. I could see going to 4 total Spell Pierce/Snare total and one less burn spell for two Void Snare's.
Quickling I wasn't as excited about, but upon further review this could be a nice tool to keep us moving as we transition from early to mid game. It's pretty common that you're using counterspells to protect Delver's or Snapcasters and this is essentially saving the creature and swapping in a new one. Bouncing and re-casting a Spellstutter Sprite is a UU2 counter 2 CMC or less (at least). Bouncing a Snapcaster to get the final points of damage in... The big downside is if your opponent can kill your only creature with its ability on the stack. It may be that playing around that makes the card too bad. That said, I think I'll test this in place of Vendilion Clique and see how I like it. Or maybe trim somewhere else...I've thought the deck could use 1-2 more threats, and maybe one that doubles as a counterspell for removal or card that can rebuy your value creatures can find a spot.
With Monoblack Devotion as the best deck in Standard? It isn't happening. It is possible in the future, but I doubt that we will see any more cards that could slot into MBD.
I dont like Waste not, I wanted to test it, it sounds so nice at first, but then you start thinking about it and its just a bad card for 8rack, that deck wants his opponent to be hellbent as soon as possible, and then Waste not does nothing.
Yes, it can be awesome if you play it turn 2, but then you are not discarding cards on that turn and thats bad for the gameplan.
Im thinking about Chasm in Blue moon, that deck plays lots of cantrips (serum visions, remand, cryptic command, electrolyze and spreading seas), its a control deck so it dont need to just win on the spot, you can play it and protect it one or two turns, then it will be quite big and even if it dies you will get the tokens (wich cant be blocked if you play spreading seas).
The original lists played Master of Waves as win condition, I think that Chasm can be tested on his slots.

Maybe cutting Vapor Snags for Void Snares would be a better idea than cutting burn and counterspells?
I don't think blue moon is the right spot, it turns on your opponents dead removal spells. It's (relatively) pain free mana base lets you not be very scared of bolt, so turning bolts on is bad in the deck.
Quickling all day every day. Quickling with snapcaster mage, spellstutterer sprite, vendilion clique, restoration angel, kitchen finks, blade splicer, venser shaper savant. This creature has unbelievable potential to make an new flash style midrange deck with value creatures easily. Definitely my favorite card spoiled, easily.

Quickling is bad for 2 reasons:
1) It is completely useless by itself (unlike Snaps and Angel, where it's absolutely valid to flash those two in with no targets in some situations. You can't even do that with Quickling).
2) You need to spend mana to recast the bounced creature, whereas Angel does it for free. Bouncing & recasting Blade Splicer = 2 + 3 = 5 mana. Casting Angel with a free flick = 4 mana. Furthermore Splicer curves directly into Angel (3 -> 4), whereas Quickling is just awkward (3 -> 2 -> 3).
I made no statement that it was a good combo. If the token is blocked or either of the creatures are removed, it's a nobo. But it's feasible in Christmas land.

This time the poster guy is Garruk right?
He was veil-cursed in INN, so the Veil as equipment makes sense to me.
I just hope wotc won't be lazy and doesn't simply stick on it something boring like fear+hexproof but they come up with something new and interesting.
Mind control + creatures become black is damaged makes sense but it would have a BIG cc.

The Chain Veil art just makes me excited.
Knowing that Liliana of the Dark Realms is officially considered a failure(who would have guessed that ) and this time its about Garruk and his curse makes me really looking forward to a reprint of Liliana of the Veil or a new Liliana.
I personally hope for a new one since I already have my playset of Liliana of the Veil

Galerion, you played Standard recently. With Monoblack Devotion existing, how likely do you think it is that Liliana of the Veil is getting a reprint?

The big rotation is three months away when M15 is released and from recent results Mono-black is not that dominating anymore.
But like I said I dont care about it since I already have them. A new version would make me happier.

I'm obviously not Galerion but I'm going to answer this too. Monoblack Devotion is not the boogeyman that non-Standard players think it is. Standard is not a stagnant format. Also, you've posted twice on this page things that hint at skepticism of printing strong black cards because of the current Monoblack Devotion. Once about Innocent Blood (I won't argue it's being reprinted because I think it's simply too powerful for Standard, regardless of what deck(s) are/aren't performing well) and now Liliana. How quickly people forget that Black has been horrible for a long time and WOTC stated on multiple occasions that they wanted to beef it up. Why would that stop now, after only 9 months of being a tier 1 deck but not dominating? Also consider that some of the cards people fear the most from the deck will rotate in September - Pack Rat, Mutavault, Lifebane Zombie, Desecration Demon, Nightveil Specter, and multiple removal spells.
Well I hope its lili of the veil, so the price can go down (even though I have my playset and a few extras for trade), but one of the reasons I joined in on modern is because I like they can lower prices.
M15 would be a good time to do it too, because its been high enough for a long enough time that they might.
That being said, I fully expect it to just be lili of dark realms
One thing to note, is sets are made way ahead of time, before they see effects of the decks in meta game. They could for all we know, have been trying to push black a bit more, and thought that she would be a great way to do it. You know they are happy to see one of their mechanics being a powerful deck, regardless of how we feel about it.

Maybe we'll have a new Planeswalker type. Im hoping we have a core set one of these days with a plethora of new Planeswalkers all over the map. Lilianna, Jace, Garruks, Chandras, Ajani etc etc etc. A new wave of Planeswalkers would be nice and that can have some more reach into Modern and Legacy.

I understand that it is no longer dominant. However, a Liliana of the Veil reprint would change that for 3 months. She crushes the WUx Control decks that are one of the strongest other options in the format.

Maybe. But I think you can also make a similar argument that I see you frequently making in Modern: that it would open up the format to other strategies. Usually Standard is more obviously a rock/paper/scissors format than eternal formats or Modern, so if UW/x Control is hated out it opens up the ability to hate the black decks. Once those decline, UW/x will come right back, etc.
Also, I think you're forgetting that UWR was a very strong tier 1 choice the last time Lili was in Standard, and it still has its powerful RTR cards (Sphinx, D-Sphere, Verdict, Charm). Obviously we don't know what the Khans block will bring.
All that said, I have my playset so have no emotional investment in a reprint (and I don't hate reprints for monetary value - I have my cards to collect and play, not speculate and sell) and I also don't think a LotV reprint is likely.
Pretty sure it will be Liliana Vess, which I wouldn't mind being reprinted, although hopefully they use an alternate art or new art (doubt it but one can dream). She's $10 now, which while not a lot could still justify a reprint perhaps.
*edit* I am all for a new Liliana however. I just hope she's good! LotDR... eew lol
Reclamation Sage (Pod), Void Snare (control or combo), and Resolute Archangel (reanimator) are the cards that I think may see play in modern so far that have been spoiled.
I know I'm late to the Ulcerate Dismember thing but one difference that likely won't be relevant in many matches is that Disemember takes the life upon cast whereas thr mini version is only upon resolution. I still prefer Dismember but it is something to be aware of.
Also I'm in the LotV reprint camp. If it's going to happen outside of a supplimentary product this is the chance to do it. You've got the flavor connections, and what better way to have the "magic community" designed card then with a planeswalker who has some synergy with it.
Red should be burn, Goblins, Dragons, draw/discard, and Standard-unplayable 5CMC cards with insane, lengthy effects that take 10 minutes to figure out what they do and another 20 to actually make their effects work on the field.

When did Gut Shot break anything?
According to MemoryLpse, it is probably a little worse than Bitterblossom in 8-Rack so it won't see much play.
Blue Moon is certainly a possibility.
Maybe cutting Vapor Snags for Void Snares would be a better idea than cutting burn and counterspells?
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
Yup, but I don't play any Vapor Snags...
I will definitely try this out...
