They really need to pay these commentators to play the format they are commentating on. It's pretty ridiculous Buehler has never heard of mono blue tron.
remember when everyone who hated zac and marshall was saying they should bring back randy buehler

Quote from TheDasuri:
First they came for the ghosts of past standards like Jace the Mindsculptor and artifact lands
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a filthy spike
Then they came for the cantrips
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a filthy blue player
Then they came for the Bloodbraid Elves
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a filthy midrange player
Then they came for the Seething Song
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a filthy combo player
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
Cifka beat Floch playing UWR 2-1, Floch conceded, then continued to look at the top cards of his library. However, the judge saw him concede in Czech. So he got dq'd
Thanks, so Floch conceded but the judge didn't know because he did it in czech and he got dq'd for it? that's rough, couldnt he explain himself?
mono-blue tron at 7-0 is interesting, any other interesting decks making deep runs?
So he actually got the DQ? It looked like Cifka knew what was going on. I want to revisit the Alter Policy in light of this game state confusion. (i know they're not really related....)

That's not quite it. The point is that the judge couldn't verify that he conceded before looking at the card. Thus the possibility being that the two had agreed on an "I win if the top card's an out, you win otherwise" scenario or something like that. This was all happening on the last turn of time, so there's no way that he gets to see that card before the game ends.

Everyone watching knew he had conceded. The whole issue was the slip had not been filled out according to what they were talking about.
I don't usually watch gp coverage but i think i understand why everyone has been bashing it. The vintage "deck tech" was one of the shoddiest things i've ever seen, how hard is it to do something like how SCG does and sit down with a steady cam and explain things, instead we get shaky cams with unnecessary close ups on peoples faces and cards. I don't think i need to say anything on the commentary, we all know how bad that is.
is there text coverage anywhere? I tried my best to look around the wotc magic website but as far as I can tell the shiny new website for noobs doesn't have anything and the old website where articles and coverage used to be posted seems to have been abandoned a month ago??
Come on
It's things like that the players get bad at magic becuase "they heard it on stream"

Someone playing Affinity at my LGS tried to do that at a Modern FNM. A Judge had to explain to him why it wouldn't work.
Edited for clarity.

Well, what can I say, reading is hard for some. Even Cifka had to catch himself using a Darksteel Citadel to activate his manlands.
The stupidity is rubbing off

Language barrier bit him hard.
to base your decisions only on actions in a very verbal game as magic is very bad judging...

Not much Pod, no Twin at the top tables from what I'm hearing, quite a bit of Tron.
