I died laughing just now at this. I hope that this is not the case but it is sad to think that we would not even be surprised if the card read like this in some permutation or combination
Watch the UB command be:
-6cmc
-sorcery speed
-one of the modes is Glimpse the Unthinkable
-it has a boardwipe mode, but it's just Consume the Meek
Other than that, I do like what Radiant Purge is trying to do. White's looking like it's assuming the role of multicolor hoser these days what with this card and Gatecrash's Renounce the Guilds. Maybe one day they'll be relevant sideboard tools...
I tried Ojutai's Command in UWR Kiki-Resto Midrange-Control. Maybe I'll keep it in for a few more games, but so far, it's fairly underwhelming. Even with 4 Wall of Omens and 3 Snapcaster Mage, it's surprisingly hard to bin a 2--drop, and even against Junk Midrange, it's surprisingly hard to counter a creature with a 4-mana card (despite all the creatures I've countered with Cryptic Command--maybe I've just had terrible luck so far?). I have a hunch I'll be gaining 4 life and drawing a card a little too often.
Further details of my results with Sidisi 2.0: I tend to sacrifice Noble Hierarch or a Spirit token to her Exploit. Otherwise, I don't tend to sac.
Oh god, please not another unplayable UB card...I am really hoping for something along the lines of this:
Silumgar's Command 2BU
Choose two:
- Counter target noncreature spell.
- Destroy target creature with converted mana cost 3 or less.
- Put the top two cards of target player's library into the graveyard. Draw a card.
- Target player loses three life.
Otujai will probably see Standard play. I don't know about modern, but maybe very, very fringe play. Not as good as Cryptic kind of hurts it, but it might see play as a one of.
Of course, there's always reviving Snapcaster Mage, but that might be a bit fringe to warrant modern play.

It would even have the mill!
Replace the mill with discard and the card would be exactly as I imagined it.
Ojutai's Command is incredible. It's got just the right modes UW need to help it pull through the midgame. I'm going to play them over Cryptics.
I can't wait to live the dream and Ojutai's Commanding to draw a card and return Wall of Omens to battlefield to draw another card. Or Ojutai's Command to bounce your guy, reanimate Snapcaster, and snapback a Path to Exile on your other guy. Or Command to gain four life and reanimate Snapcaster Mage to snap back Ojutai's Command to gain four more life and boune your threat.
Um, no, not really. I think it might find a home as a two of but the conditional counter hurts its value a lot. That combined with the fact that it is in the same mana slot as something that is better makes me think its not quite as good as ones immediate gut reaction. I do like the recursion though. Nice utility there...

Yep.
While the comparison to Cryptic Command is obvious and understandable it is also kinda flawed and tiresome. Cryptic is pretty busted in the first place and always was. There is a very good reason why it sees play in all slower blue decks and is currently sitting at $60.
You are not comparing every creature to Tarmogoyf. That is a comparison that no new card will ever win too.

I had been thinking about Command earlier. The counter/draw is Bone to Ash... not all that thrilling. The reanimate draw if you're hitting a Wall of Omens or Snapcaster Mage still doesn't even come across to me as any better than Mulldrifter. 4 life is niche but could be solid against burn.
In the end I just don't see why I would ever play this over Cryptic.

Well, Cryptic is $50+. For lots of players I think this command gives them another new/relevant control option. Not all new card discussion must be for 100% optimum competitive decks, correct?

That's true (aside from the forum rules that deck discussion must involve the optimal cards). But even then the question is, is this the next best card? Reanimate Wall of Omens, Draw a card isn't where I want to be. The counter mode I'm mostly ignoring because a huge number of things you need to counter in Modern are spells rather than creatures.
I like the new Shaman mana dork. I'm not sure where it goes, but there is definite potential there. maybe some 4/5c Zoo? or is my inner Timmy clouding my mind?

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
Yeah, this is the issue for me as well. Countering a Rhino/Tas and bringing back a Goyf is supremely unfair. But... Bant kind of sucks right now. In fact, most of the proactive UWx decks kind of suck right now. Esper Midrange is trying to do big things over in Japan, but it doesn't have creatures that fit with OC. UWR Midrange is decentish, but again, it doesn't have enough < 2 CMC creatures to snergize with OC.
Another issue is that the best OC modes are almost always going to be counter/draw or counter/revive. Maybe revive/draw in some situations, but that's way less swingy than counter/revive. And even counter/draw is still just Cryptic. But because OC only counters creatures, you are kind of restricted to using OC against fairer decks that will be dropping 2-4 CMC dudes like Clique, Rhino, Tas, Goyf, etc. OC and Snapcaster is very strong, but again, you need mana to make that pairing work, which means longer games in fairer, grindier matchups.
