I hope Pillow Fort gets some love, it would be fun to see something super slow and grindy.
I'm not the kind of guy to follow events, but I know at least 3 people from these forums will be playing Top Control/Fateseal Control at the GP so I'm interested in seeing how far they get.

Too bad that Jim Davis isn't among them. All the Jim Davis jokes would really make sense there.
Anyway it's nothing personal but I hope we don't see it. I would rather watch and play against Eggs then that pile. Funnily enough it's also an artifact deck. Hmm...
I really want to see more draw-go decks. I actually love playing that style of deck, and seeing the design about "varied answers" and how they don't want to design draw go made me sad. So I'll be looking to see those draw go decks this weekend.
Well I will miss a big part of day 1 here considering I have to work til 8 PM GMT. Oh well at least I hope this thread will be active and provide information.

On stream... I can't believe they are allowing BBD to discuss this absurd theory about 8th and 9th edition. It's the click baitiest thing I've seen in a while.
And ROFL @ Cedric calling out BBD on his bull*****. He's totally right. This is just pros being mad because their decks are losing.
EDIT: CVM - the voice of reason in Modern. Seriously, I respect him a lot for his measured and well-thought-through commentary.
Brad Nelson was also very reasonable- talking about how he doesn't think Amulet should be banned (yet), that we should wait to see if it can be hated out this tournament first.
But yeah, BBD is just butthurt because his deck of choice isn't good against Tron.

Well, I can saw a woman in two, but you won't wanna look in the box when I'm through.
Anybody else getting an "SCG Live currently offline" besides me? I'm new to SCG coverage. It honestly could be my work computer trying to screw me out of some sweet sweet modern action though.

Nelson makes the perfect argument.... every time a new deck taht attacks on a different axis comes into the format and starts to do well, everyone cries for ban. This is just going to lead to no new decks being played because whats the point in doing it.
Patrick Sullivan's argument was also extremely illogical; Amulet is broken because it hard to interact with (creatures and enchantment) but Twin is okay because its easy to interact with (lots of creature removal and enchantment removal). Does that not seem contradictory?

Twin durdles and doesn't win before turn 4. How am I supposed to interact with this on turn 1?! I don't even have a land in play yet.
The T1 win is ridiculously unlikely though. You need something like untapped land, Amulet, Bloom, 2x Bounceland (non-Garrison), Titan, which is already 6 cards. Even then, you can actually only get the 8/6 Titan. To actually win, you need to be on the draw and get a Simian Spirit Guide and additional Amulet as those 2 unknown cards, which is ridiculous. If the real issue is the possible T1 win, then Griselbrand Reanimator deserves a ban (only needs 6 cards to go off T1) which is clearly not necessary. A deck should not be banned based on its most powerful plays, it should be banned based off of its average plays. Amulet Bloom's average plays aren't absurdly broken. As far as I can tell, it's a good deck, but certainly not unbeatable.
NOTE: If I'm wrong on anything about the Amulet Bloom hands, please point it out. I'm not a Bloom player by any stretch of the imagination, so I'm probably missing stuff.
EDIT: The above T1 stuff is wrong, the untapped lands actually need to be Simian Soirit Guides

I believe one of the required hands is 1x amulet, 1x untapped land, 1x green bounceland, 1x summer bloom, and either primeval titan, summoner's pact or hive mind + pact. That way you can play turn one amulet, turn two bounceland -> summer bloom -> using the same bounceland to generate 6 mana and play pact or titan. That was the combination I saw against frank karsten in one of his videos here:(http://www.channelfireball.com/videos/channel-karsten-modern-suicide-zoo/). The turn 2 win happens round one match one

Round 1 musings
Infect vs Tron: so Twisted Image is a card, wow :).
Naya Company vs UR Twin: Naya Company looks like a great meta call, wonder if we'll see it in action vs Tron or Amulet.
UW Control vs 4-colour Midrange: major props to SCGLive for covering 3 matches in a round! Wonder what the 4-colour build is, didn't really get to see it develop. UW Control might also be a good choice, saw Hoogland playtesting with his take on it, looked pretty tight.
So cool! Definitely waiting for the video to be up to watch those games!

Common sense is the most fairly distributed thing in the world, for each one thinks he is so well-endowed with it that even those who are hardest to satisfy in all other matters are not in the habit of desiring more of it than they already have. - René Descartes
So you go land, amulet, then T2 bounce, Bloom, but you need an extra Bounceland so you have one in your hand after casting Bloom (I think). Not impossible, but still difficult.
Also I was wrong about the T1 wins above. The untapped lands actually need to be Spirit Guides to cats amulet without using your land drop.
