Basically, CeddyP and AMountain have been discussing the ban-worthiness of Amulet Bloom during the pre-show. They sequentially talked with BBD, CVM, Nelson, Ross and Anderson about their decks of choice for this GP and asked each of them whether Amulet Bloom should get the axe or not. BBD wrote an article about purging all of 8th and 9th Edition out of Modern, so his viewpoint on Amulet Bloom (and Tron as well) was clear, but then CeddyP (Tron afficionado that he is) mentioned that perhaps BBD might... not like his decks getting trashed by Tron? Might be... a little partial to his own decks? Funny moment
Darn, I missed that hahah
Thanks!

Common sense is the most fairly distributed thing in the world, for each one thinks he is so well-endowed with it that even those who are hardest to satisfy in all other matters are not in the habit of desiring more of it than they already have. - René Descartes
So you go land, amulet, then T2 bounce, Bloom, but you need an extra Bounceland so you have one in your hand after casting Bloom (I think). Not impossible, but still difficult.
Also I was wrong about the T1 wins above. The untapped lands actually need to be Spirit Guides to cats amulet without using your land drop.
Not exactly, you use the first bounceland-> amulet untaps it-> you tap it for 2 -> bounce it to your hand -> use the 2 floating mana to cast summer bloom -> then play and bounce the same land 3 times. So it all comes from one bounceland.
A few quick questions.
1) Is there a coverage page on the Wizards site, or is it just on SCG's?
2) Is there some way to look back in an going stream to see earlier stuff in it? I know there at least used to be, but I can't remember what it was.
3) In regards to that Cedric Phillips and BBD, can anyone remember about where it was in the pre game show so I can look for it? (either when this stream ends or when I figure out how to look back at an in-progress stream)
EDIT: In regards to #3, the Pregame show is actually watchable here. It starts at about 40 minutes in and at 43 minutes in they start talking about the 8th/9th Edition and Tron and stuff.
Siege Rhino's still got it. It's too bad we didn't get to see more of that Abzan vs. Abzan Collected Company matchup, it would have been interesting to see how BBD lost what is generally considered a good matchup.
On the other hand it usually turns out that the grinder decks are NOT representative of the T8/16 so we'll end up with something like >1 Amulet and <1 Twin in the T16.
Round 4 musings
Grixis Twin vs Grixis Twin: Ok, so the always ultra-smooth LSV wins. No, really. No need to watch this mirror :). I'll just get started on the next match. A+ ...okay, so maybe it's not going to be a convincing 2-0 victory. But I still believe! Wow, checkered pants, CFB T-shirt, ... did I mention just how smooth a player like LSV is? He is already years ahead of Paris.
??? vs ???: It just might be ??? having the edge because reasons.
Maybe he should have spent more time on his card choices than his fashion choices.
OMG every round they have to talk about banning Bloom and the dead of Amulet deck.
Jesus guys, we get it. SCG hates the deck, enough. You just watched it lose to one of the cheapest, entry level decks in the format. And still the deck is the doom of the format? GEESH!
You have had Twin on pretty much every round so far showing how hard it is to beat and yet Amulet Bloom is too good? My god....
Wow and now they are saying that BBE should be unbanned as Jund is already on the rise and doing well? BBE cascading into K Command seems really strong.....
Hopefully WotC isnt listening to these guys bc man....
While it's interesting for them to discuss what they think are the biggest mistakes on the banned list of Legacy and Modern, I'm confused that they'd rate Bloodbraid Elf above Sword of the Meek in the current metagame.
I believe the argument they made was that BBE was banned instead of Deathrite (and should not have been put on the list in the first place), where as Sword has never really been available to play in Modern. Therefore, they classified BBE as the bigger mistake. They also compared it to Wild Nacatl, with Wild Nacatl being unbanned now after it was thought to be a mistake.

While I do agree DRS should have eaten the ban instead of Bloodbraid Elf, Jund is pretty decent right now already, whereas Sword of the Meek doesn't go into any top deck and isn't an infinite combo like things that exist already in the format.

All right, so first talking up an Amulet Bloom ban and now the Modern format is very healthy? CeddyP and AMountain should make up their minds... Round 6 musings
Amulet Bloom vs Grixis Delver: ...

The go to commentary for SCG is to talk about banning the top dogs of the format. Before Bloom it was Delver and Pod, before them it was something else.
