Somewhere in my mind appears a B/x list with Oblivion Sower, Urborg, and Leyline of the Void, with eldrazi "sol lands", discard, fulminators, sweepers, and something to do with all that mana (hopefully some shiny new eldrazi).
I know but I was referring to Ingest as a mechanic. The other ability has a lot of possibilities I agree. Cute with Hide//Seek and Slaughter Games effects too.
I could see a fixed version costing 1G or a version where it's on another creature Asusa style. As for ingest, I'm expecting effects like Nightveil Specter for the eldrazi. Nothing modern playable so far imho.

If I had to guess, the only modern playable Ingest related card is going to be an Oblivion Sower esque card that;
A) Costs 7 ish
B) Has a decent body
C) allows you to grab a creature/instant/sorcery from exile whenever it connects and cast it for free.
And even then I think it's going to require Trample.

Oath of the Gatewatch; the set that caused the competitive community to freak out over Basic Lands.
I really wonder if this set will keep the tribal theme that it had last time. Either way my prediction is that Merfolk will get another lord of atlantis type lord.

Soo Ingest.. most worthless mechanic ever printed? Though I guess it's supposed to have a synergy with something we haven't seen yet. The most obvious thing I can think of is something that lets you play cards exiled from your opponents deck. That still seems weak.
But remember that Delve is a wildly played thing. Imagine them delving away lands, or better yet things like Abrupt Decay. Then you get to (conditionally) cast it for free!
True, but I still probably wouldn't put Ingest creatures in my deck (unless of course they had great stats).
It doesn't even have to have ingest, it just has to bring it back from exile under your control. Imagine playing Path to Exile on their Tasigur, then cast some-yet-to-be-spoiled-and-a-reasonable-cost-eldrazi and steal it out of exile. Maybe some big guy has ingest 7, but that's a dream for now.
Ingest doesn't have a number after it so it is always 1 exiled. Wizards probably thought ingest x was too powerful.
The OP lists a combo with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth - isn't that card banned in standard when BFZ releases?
First, rotating isn't the same thing as banning. Second, this is the Modern forum, not the Standard forum. Third, Eye of Ugin isn't even Standard-legal, so I don't see why you would think he was talking about Standard.
I've heard vague rumors of a "clock land." As in you grab an island/mountain land, as in half the card is island, the other half upsidedown is a mountain. You play it on the island half. Tap it. When it untaps its a mountain. tap again, its an island on untap.
That sounds awful too--its hard enough sometimes keeping track of how you need to do your 'thing' with river of tears, the memory issues of clocklands could get super annoying.
I'm just hoping for boring ass enemy manlands or fastlands. Though, anything new and decent would sit well with me too.

This. Karn + Sower is already going to break Modern in half. It would only get worse if Tron decks could run guys with absurd abilities like "Ingest 2." That's a deck that can make us of all the extra lands it steals by just winning with Emrakul. Wizards is already treading dangerous waters with this mechanic.
the card itself really isn't worth the card board its printed on...does it serve a purpose? Sure its a blue 1 drop that might not be a 1/1. I would not put it in a list and expect to win a PTQ or GP though.

Really? If you're off the Pyroclasm/O-Stone/Ugin plan and are started to turn fatties sideways chances are that you're winning anyway no matter whether the fatties have Ingest (lol) or Annihilator. Again we have to separate the two mechanics from each other: Ingest: the one that exiles 1 random card whenever a fatty connects and the other one that lets you play cards exiled from your opponents deck. Since Tron has an abundance of more efficient ways to exile multiple things (Relic, Karn, Ugin) I hardly doubt that Ingest is gonna break anything, even if it came with a number.
Also worth noting is that Tron doesn't lose because they miss their land drops, they lose because they are killed before they get to Emmy mana.

You mean full art lands? Yes. Thats been confirmed, grant it has no impact on modern.
I hope forssome playable UG cards, as I mentioned earlier, and some good Allies.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
All i can hope for is enemy coloured manlands and hopefully those "cool" dual lands that mario mentioned better don't turn out to be unplayable.

You mean like a Goblin Guide with Ingest? That would be annoying.
