No one made a thread for this yesterday, but while watching this awesome UW Emeria Control vs. Abzan Company matchup in Round 10, I decided we absolutely needed a place to talk about the Open.

It has by far the strongest late game (besides Tron, because Tron) in Modern. Ofc, it loses too against those decks it prays on, that is normal. You can't have a 100% win percentage, not if you are playing a semi random card game.

Not sure why the naya company player didn't GQ the mountain. It was Majors' only red source and it was very unlikely that Majors had a second basic mountain in the deck. Could have easily won that game if he did that considering the events that followed after.
Is Naya Burn referred to as a "Burn" deck ? Yesterday there were many "Naya zoo" decks.
It's just Burn lists running white for Lightning Helix and green for Atarka's Command (along with various cards in the board). Some of these lists might also run Nacatl, but that's not necessarily a norm.

I see ... Thanks
The lists running Nacatal were named "Naya Zoo" on feature matchup, that's why I was wondering ...
As far as I know, there are 3 somewhat different decks - Naya Burn, Nacatl Burn, and Naya Zoo, which could also have several variations itself. I've read somewhere that Nacatl Burn is outperforming Naya Burn online currently. It's just adding 4 Wild Nacatl and some more Green lands and taking away something ?.

If Albert had Blood Moon instead of Magus, that second game would have been a lot shorter and he probably would have won.
Yeah. Magus has its faults, thats one of them. But its better against the tron/bloom decks, and less against the junk/delver/twin decks. Being able to company into it and the opponent cant respond to it is huge.

It is a really fun deck which destroys every midrange and control deck.

Ross is on Infect.
Only 1 UR Twin deck (however 13 Twin decks overall)
Only 1 Amulet Bloom Deck
Only 1 Griselbanned deck
Grixis Control most played deck
Naya CoCo as the most played CoCo deck
And some rather oddballs (Infect most played Combo deck besides Twin, followed by ADN and Scapeshift, although Bogles is ahead of both).

For real though, zoo is a good choice here. Reason why is simple. Its free wins against delver and twin.
