Finally a matchup I want to see, and coverage cuts out. Nice.

For some reason they refuse to call Dredge, "Dredge" and instead feel the need to say "loam zombie"
It's an evolution of Loam Pox. In the Loam Pox thread, we've been calling it Squeeflagrate, since it usually wins on a huge flashbacked Conflagrate. 'Dredge' brings to thought the Narcomoeba / Bridge from Below decks. It uses the dredge mechanic, but it'd be just as accurate to call it the Flashback Deck or whatever.

I'm guessing it's to distinguish it from Legacy Dredge. And Zombies sound better than Dredge for new people. That said, Dredge, really makes me feel like i need to dredge up something facing against 1000 zombies.

And whe you're already mentioned Randy Bueler he's the worst commentator ever and has absolutely now idea what is good for Modern and what not and his senseless quotes about Eldrazi only confirms that he has no clue what he's talking about.
My favorite Randy quote of all time in the finals of a standard GP maybe a year ago at most:
Well after all of this is over no one is going to say that the Eldrazi didn't breed creative deck building. Public enemy #1 sure brings people together.
So day 2 in australia should be starting soon right? We got a day 2 meta for Melbourne yet?
We're already in Round 11 over there, but no metagame up yet.
The coverage of this weekend has been DIRE. I was imagining it as an awesome triple GP bonanza where they are switching between all three GPs with reporters live in the ground, showing all three GPs (maybe on 2 different twitch channels), proper SCG-level production values...
Instead it's super amateur, only of GP detroit, just awful... Kind of makes you wonder if they don't want people paying attention to the Eldrazi madness on purpose...
At least Gaby is a great new commentator and works great with LSV.
Your first mistake was expecting anything from WotC.
43 of the 100 players are on Eldrazi. This is not a "True" Day 2 metagame breakdown, but even if 0 of the other 211 players played the deck, Eldrazi would still be at 14% of the overall metagame. If the remaining 211 players had only HALF the Eldrazi representation as in the Top 100, that would still be 65 players on Eldrazi for a 21% Day 2 share. Of course, if the 43/100 held for the remaining 211 players, that would be the most lopsided Day 2 ever. Overall, I'm calling this a format diversity disaster. The other Day 2s are likely to be just as bad.

Why did they do top 100 instead of just regular day 2?
I'm going to bed now but I'm hoping to see TOP 8 of MelB and day 2 stats for bologna when I wake up
Probably manpower. They have a smaller coverage team, as I understand it. Those stats will definitely be up in the next 8 hours. I'm very pessimistic about their fates.
This whole broadcast has been so much better than past streams - Gaby + Marshall was great and teaming anyone up with LSV is fantastic. Kudos for stepping it up a little bit WOTC - thanks for not rolling Randy out in front of us again, it's appreciated.
You have to think they are trying to "listen" to the community for the coverage in order to keep viewers. They'd lose a lot of people if it was a "Bad coverage all Eldrazi GP".
God, I hope so. Dispite this being terrible eldrazi on eldrazi action, the coverage has been better than it ever has been.

I think Shodai is being unfair, we saw some UW control.
I did mention that. The Naya Zoo guy was back on camera for a second just now playing against Eldrazi also.
Why would I want to watch zoo, when i can watch lantern?
When you watch Lantern, more often than not, its zoo.

Hey, it's still an improvement over the last Modern Grand Prix in Detroit, where they didn't even have video coverage.
Outside of Pro tours the only coverage I watch on twitch are modern GP's.
I knew what to expect but still... after watching UW eldrazi vs Living end round 3 followed by UW eldrazi vs infect in round 4 as the backup and a little dose of you guessed it eldrazi vs affinity in round 5 I was out.
I have no intention of watching any further coverage. I just hope the metagame is as high % as possible for eldrazi to ensure wizards are clear just how *cough* badly they've messed up modern.
I much preferred twin/bloom modern, pod modern, hell even cruise modern wasn't as dominant for one strategy.
Chris Cousens (Abzan Company)
Kentaro Yamamoto (Living End)
Lee Shi Tian (Living End - I thought he was on Loam from his tweets, but apparently it's LE)
Jason Chung (Zombie Loam)
Yuuki Ichikawa (Living End)
Maitland Cameron (UW Eldrazi)
Louis Thomson-Gregg (x Eldrazi)
David Mines (x Eldrazi)
x: there's one UW Eldrazi and one RG Eldrazi, but not sure who's playing which version yet.
Living End taking advantage of the broken metagame to put 3 players in the Top 8.
Guys please opinions on japanese cards. Lost a 3/3 creature against Japan celestial colonade. This guy played all creatures and spells in english cards, but some cards in his manabase was japanese. I dont registrated this really ( my brain say its all fine and all english to me lets attack his empty board)...and i am sure it is a Kind of legal cheating. It is not ok, but i know legal. I Hate such people. I never forget colonade normally, but with this Tricks it can happen one time in 3 years and such people take advantage of this
If I am a customer spending premium amount of dollars, I expect a premium service. Jund falls into the category of a premium deck costing more dollars than a majority of the rest of the format. I'm not getting the desired performance ratio per dollars spent out of the Jund deck because WOTC decided to make the format more diverse.

311 players made Day 2 at GP Melbourne. GP Melbourne also just posted the Top 100 decks from Day 2. It's not a true Day 2 breakdown, nor is it a random sample of the Day 2. Those limitations aside, it's a total nightmare.

Yes, there's a total of 3 Eldrazi decks, I just mentioned I'm not sure who's playing the UW one and the RG one between the 7th and 8th placed players.
