Okay, I run composite decks because I don't compete in tourney but I had an interesting thought and need a question answered.
If a planeswalker's ability to give an emblem is used, can I use ards like "willbender" in order to Yank the emblem? Technically it IS an ability and it does technically TARGET the owner of the planeswalker. So is it safe to say I can redirect the emblem to myself?
I assume the emblem created is similar to the one Koth creates. If not, please provide the actual Emblem you are questioning.
Contrary to your post, the emblem technically does not target. There is no mention of the word target in the ability (in regards to creating an emblem). Instead, it just says "You get an emblem...". The "you" in this case is always the controller of the ability as it goes onto the stack. You will not be able to redirect it with Willbender's ability.
See this rule for more clarity on what makes a spell or ability "target":
114.9. Spells and abilities can affect objects and players they don’t target. In general, those objects and players aren’t chosen until the spell or ability resolves. See rule 608, “Resolving Spells and Abilities.”
114.9a Just because an object or player is being affected by a spell or ability doesn’t make that object or player a target of that spell or ability. Unless that object or player is identified by the word “target” in the text of that spell or ability, or the rule for that keyword ability, it’s not a target.
114.9b In particular, the word “you” in an object’s text doesn’t indicate a target
I think in the case of cards like Garruk, Apex Predator you could redirect the ability with the appropriate card to an appropriate target (i.e. a different opponent). This isn't relevant for most games of Modern though...

This is correct because there is a target for the emblem. As you mentioned it won't be all that relevant in most games since Willbender can't redirect it back to the abilities controller. However, it could come up in Multiplayer Magic.
