Hey guys.
I'm thinking about making a new cascade deck, but it needs to be able to discard by turn two in order to be efficient. It doesn't matter what color or how, I just want a way to get something from my hand into the graveyard turn two without messing up my cascade.
Please let me know if there's anything that can pull it off.
If you are using Simian Spirit Guide, then Geier Reach Sanitarium might be able to work. One normal land and a guide lets you discard on turn two, and its a land so it avoids messing up Cascade.
I'm assuming anything under 3cmc is a no-go so aside from split cards. You could use Breaking and hope to mill the cards you want from the top 8 of your deck. Down is too expensive. Fall if you are feeling lucky.
You'll probably have to wait for Pain to be reprinted in all honesty. Until then you either need to jump through some hoops to play something at 3cmc and Gemstone Caverns or Simian Spirit Guide, or play Fall and get lucky. Lastly you can always go on the draw (as people only go on the play so you can really get it every time) then just don't play anything turn 1 and discard a card due to having 8 in hand.
I really wish I could use breaking // entering, but my understanding is that cascade will still catch it, so it doesn't work. Milling would definitely work for me as a discard outlet, though. Anyway, I totally appreciate all of the help and the options for 3cmc discards. I'll let you know what I can put together.
If you're curious, I'm trying to make a living end + dredge deck. It's not supposed to be competitive, I just want it to actually work. If it does, it will be really fun.
Gemstone Caverns is exile though, I'm not sure you're using it in the context of the OP but FYI.
Since you're in Black anyways I recomend Avatar of Discord. Consult the Necrosages Offers some versatility if you'd rather draw instead. Dark Dread Is Risky Business but does offer to put your whole hand into the yard. Death's Cloud Also offers the opportunity to hit lands while you hit hands. Delirium Skeins is symmetric. Disrupting Scepter is a classic.
I've been finding that with only 60 cards, there's not really room for this deck. Here's what I built:
16 dredgers
20 land(including gemstone caverns)
10 discard outlets (4 of which are land)
8 cascaders
2 living end
8 cyclers
My idea was to discard a dredger and cycle, and you can imagine that would be pretty fun, just using stuff like Street Wraith to put 20 cards into the graveyard by turn 3. But unfortunately, there's not enough dredgers, not enough discard outlets, and way too little ramp(not even enough room for simian spirit guide, if I put it in I'd be sacrificing other essentials).
Another way to make it work was just to throw stinkweed imps into a normal living end deck, go 2nd, and discard them turn 1. But it's simply much less efficient than the normal version.
Thanks for all of the help, anyway. If only unmask was in modern...

You can't cascade into Breaking//Entering any more. They changed the rule.

Cards that can get you to 3 mana fast:
- Chancellor of the Tangle
- Gemstone Caverns
- Simian Spirit Guide
Cards cmc = 3:
- Avatar of Discord
- Artificer's Epiphany/Catalog/Compulsive Research/Esper Charm
- Blightning
- Bonded Fetch
- Hag Hedge-Mage
- Hidden Horror
- Jeskai Ascendancy
- Kolaghan's Command
- Liliana of the Veil

MTGO/MTGA: Tyclone
My Primers ~ GWx Vizier Company ~ Knightfall ~ RG Eldrazi ~ Green's Sun's Zenith
More Brews ~ Modern Four Horsemen ~ Gitrog Dredge
Blue has plenty of options at 3-mana:
Thirst for Knowledge, Compulsive Research, etc.
There also self mill options like Pieces of the Puzzle or Scout the Borders (the bad Grisly Salvage).

i know its 2cmc but zombie infestation would have been perfect for what you are trying to do but yeah...
best 3cmc discard card for what you are trying to do might be dark deal, also disrupts your oponents plans at the same times.
keep us updated with a list if possible, would be easier for us to make suggestions
top 5 anime of all time (tv, not books because dragon ball would be first)
1. Sword art online 2. Fairy tail 3. Naruto(shipuden) 4. Bleach 5. Claymore
