The "Scry 2" of Condescend is much better than the damge you can do with Mindswipe, control decks care about hitting land drops and finding answers more than some incidental damage.
No offense, but I started off playing Magic with a Draw-Go deck when Tempest was Type 2 and the Urza block was just about to drop. Counterspell, Mana Drain, Mana Leak, and Force Spike were cards I played with regularly. There's not a great deal anybody here can say about playing control that's going to be news to me.

Condescend is detestably too slow for the format, Mindswipe is completely out of the question. Even the cards mentioned such as Disallow are not even in the top 100 Instants/Sorceries played in the format. As I've mentioned in the reprint thread, this format needs Undermine and Absorb at the bare minimum for a playable 3 mana counter.
