The petty keyboard warrior in me wants to go list all the pros, posters, and players who predicted the end of Modern after a JTMS unban. Regarding pros, these are authors who should generally not be trusted, or at least should be treated with significant skepticism. They severely misjudged Modern and/or JTMS himself, and this serves as a big blight on their track record. Similar to Tom Ross infamously predicting a Nahiri ban after 6 months. Alternately, these players are just in it for the clicks, which is another strike against their credibility. As for users, there's a long list of posters I can think of from Reddit and this site that have a lot of crow to eat. I will certainly be skeptical about their claims in the future.
Excited to see the T8! UW Control currently in first at 33 points with some sweet Settle the Wreckage technology.
Please do go keyboard warrior. It'd be nice to have a list of people who are just clickbait writers when it comes to modern.
Feels REALLY good to see a Vizier Knightfall deck that's 95% the same as the one I built 4 months ago. Haven't been able to finish the dang thing, but I've been testing it out with proxies every now and then, and lemme tell you, I would looooove to add a Jace to it now that he's unbanned!
Yep yep! I'm just running about 5-6 different cards in the main, with no Kessig or Red splash. Oh, and I like to use Rhonas so I have more CoCo targets (and a pack foil Rhonas...).
But yeah! It plays super smooth, and I bet having a few Jaces for an alt win con, as well as all the other things he can do for that deck, feels amazing.
edit: only a single jund list in the 9-32. considering the number going into day 2 they must have had a rough day. humans looks to be in great shape. rumors of its demise have been greatly exaggerated.
Had a friend who started 8-0, but got 42nd and another friend end up on 25th with GB Elves. The MErfolk Lord himself didn't even tell any of us until he finished the GP, his first GP played in. Funny guy and super good Merfolk Memer.
Also, the Jund player knocked me out of contention at an RPTQ the last Modern season (giving me my 2nd loss, my first loss being to the guy I rode with). I drew 18 lands in 2 games, so not much to see there, but I noticed he's a really nice and professional guy. Not any kind of douchey whatsoever, for whatever my word's worth. Cool dude. Nice to see him do well, but would have liked the 1st place finish.

#42 was on Zoo. I can ask him if I can give you the list. He's been playing Zoo forever - a Zoo aficianado for sure. He showed me a spreadsheet of his tournament reports, mostly WNM and FNM, which had him at 67.5% win percentage at the time. That SHHHHOOOCKED me. His win percentage with Zoo is 2% higher than my overall Modern win percentage, although I have played some stinkers from time to time.

No Zoo in the top 32, that's a shame. I was really hoping for a return of my favorite archetype in magic.
They could at least have published the 8-0 Zoo's decklist
I'm sorry I tried my best but didn't draw the 3rd land against affinity to blow him out with Kozilek's Return in the final game. My list is here though and I'll be posting a report soon after finals are done on Thursday.
Congratulations with your result! Great finish and kudos to you for picking the deck up again. Don't be sorry! I'll be looking out to your report in the Zoo thread.
