Is there a reason elves isn't using this?
Turn 1 dork
Turn 2 tangleroot
Turn 3 heritage druid and any two 1 drops= 3 mana from heritage + all your lands still untapped. So presumably 5 or 6 mana depending on if u hit 3rd land. That's plenty of mana for lifecrafter's, plow under, or whatever u want.
Because it doesn't really do anything (and is symmetrical) and Elves don't have any problems producing mana anyways.
Same reason they don't play Growing Rites of Itlimoc (which is much better than Tangleroot).
The problem is that it costs 3 mana, so you need to cast at least three creature spells before it generates mana overall. You might also waste the mana if you don't have the right casting cost creatures. Also just look at an opening hand: land, land, llanowar elves, tangleroot. That only leaves 3 slots in your opener for creatures. So it's likely tangleroot will actually do almost nothing for you. Except it's worse than that, because you're giving up a turn of tempo to play this, so even if you gain more mana in the long run, you're behind on tempo.

Turn 2 should be either: Elvish Archdruid, a couple of dorks or Dwynen's Elite and a dork.
