Kinda sad how the entirety of the winning team was decided on by a Leyline of the Void and whether or not someone could draw Nature's Claim. The fact that it took as long as it did to conclude the match didn't do the format any favors either; spinning tires doing nothing, neither side able to actually do anything to interact meaningfully, etc. Many of the rest of the matches were amazing (especially the Legacy ones), but this felt like such a downer of a way to end what was probably the best Pro Tour in many years.
That UB Delver vs Death and Taxes inspired me to fire up the Insectile Boy. Looked so awesome.
It honestly makes me wonder why we can't just have straight UB Death's Shadow in Modern. I'm not too certain what the red is adding lately in the format

Not sure, the biggest thing I can see is K Command vs Reanimate? Obviously the blue stuff isn't nearly as good, but if I played black, I would try it out.
That game was really fun to watch, maybe I'll try it anyway.
Not having Daze in Modern limits the ability of UB Death's Shadow in Modern, I think.
Daze, Force, Brainstorm, Ponder, Preordain, Wasteland. It's a Delver deck just as much as a Shadow deck, and Delver is fairly terrible without those enabler/protection spells.

Temur Battle Rage is probably the biggest reason. In games where you're purely racing or need to blast through chump blockers, it's critical. K Command helps grind obviously, but there are matches where Battle Rage is your best card.

Yeah, I was just looking at the Legacy list and Modern 'counts as' type cards. The biggest issue is the blue cards, free counter spells are good, imagine that.

Keep in mind that the Legacy version has a lot more interaction with Daze, FoW, and Snuff Out. In order to go deep enough on removal/counterspells in Modern I think you need that third color. Also keep in mind that the third color is essentially free since you probably want more than 4 shocklands ideally.
What really interests me actually is an Esper variant that uses Spellstutter Sprite and Spell Queller instead of Delvers as the additional threat.
Yeah in Modern it seems you need Red cause you need ways around Blockers be it bolting them or temur battle rage. In Legacy you can make sure they never have a blocker hit the field in the first place allowing you to drop Red.
