I feel like modern is so busted at this time (KCI and Dredge and Phoenix and Storm and Hollow One) that stuff like SFM, Pod, Punishing Fire, and GSZ WOULD BE FINE. In theory, they would increase diversity, and modern is supposed to be very powerful anyway.

I'd probably like to see pod or twin unbanned tbh. But twin might just be me. I don't think either would be that busted right now
I might have to pick up another EE if I can find another original for cheap (the one I have is original so I want them to match)

I've always thought Pod is actually more powerful than GSZ. I dont really think GSZ is a build around card that some people think it is

I wish they'd be more willing to unban cards like what they did with GGT to test the format to see if it can handle it. If anything they can do what they did it GGT and just ban it again if it ever becomes too much
Pod is slower than gsz and enables a different style of deck. Basically, GSZ let's you fish out a turn one mana dork through dryad arbor and late game fish out a bomb. Pod works more mid game and requires toolboxing to work, so it's more similar to collected company.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!

But vastly more powerful. Don't people remember Siege Rhino Value Pod?
Pod is grows more powerful every time a new powerful pushed creature gets printed and in case you haven't noticed WotC is doing that quite often. Would Pod dominate? Who knows. But it would certainly be one of the best decks in the format and it would push out quite a few decks especially Midrange ones. There is no way to keep up with the value that Pod generates once it gets going. That was true back then and will still be true now. I mean Humans and Spirits are very good decks but Pod would crush them easily.
As stated many times Pod ever comes up, Pod was one of the best decks in Modern when Treasure Cruise and Dig Through Time were legal, and no cards from pod decks were ever banned outside Pod itself

True, and fair. We have to remember however we are over 3 years out now on that, and not everyone played at that time. Pod was a huge force, and while Modern has become faster and more powerful...I dont know.
I personally would love to see Pod unbanned since I think its one of the coolest cards in magic from a design point. But the point I wanted to make is that I really think GSZ should be in consideration before Pod.
You're fooling yourself if you think pod would increase diversity. Just like twin, wed see many decks stop existing.
And no, stuffing 2 or 3 main deck k commands would not be enough to fight the deck for the other fair decks.
Gsz would probably just help something like elves. I imagine the abzan company players would experiment and then give in to just playing the better gsz deck.
Ban of KCI - I don't think they will mess around with banning anything else other than the deck's namesake card, because of the type of turns this card produces.
Unban of Stoneforge and Green Sun's Zenith - both fit into fair / midrange strategies. GSZ doesn't really fit well into Devoted Druid combo because half the combo is white. Is does boost elves, however, and opens up some new strategies: Maverick anyone? Stoneforge unban is obvious, despite what the SCG commentators say.
I think dredge will get hated out without needing any more bans. The numbers show that this archetype is declining.
I had this converstation online in a few places, but I would rather they hit Creeping Chill, and Scrap Trawler.
Let egg's live in a tier 3 state, and bring Dredge down a notch winning through creatures and conflag, rather than just 'yeah I dump out my library and oops, 12+ point damage swing lul!'
Ugh,this sucks. I only need Mox Opals and EE's to finish KCI, OR, I could throw down ~$200 for arclights and manamorphose to do UR phoenix. On one hand, I just spent 150 bucks throwing together the supplementals for KCI, and goldfishing with it has been surprisingly fun. On the flip side, I reaaaally don't want to spend 400 on opals just to see KCI hampered come the next B&R. What a fantastic dilemma..... Bans suck
I actually think no cards will be banned. Only unbans will happen next announcement. I really don't think the data shows anything worth banning.
(Edit: Someone could prove me wrong. The most likely candidate would be Ancient Stirrings, but I'm against this notion. There's been data in the past showing the success of decks using the card, but I will bring up the classic argument that the card supports different decks/archetypes and it's hard convince me to ban a card due to this fact. According to mtggoldfish, which I know isn't 100% accurate, it is only the 12th most played card. Another problem is how KCI doesn't show up as much online due to a lot of different issues, but I think that only strengthens my point on hw there really isn't convincing data that supports the ban. At the end of the day, it's still just a different Commune with Nature :P)
If I had to predict something being banned, I'd say probably something from Dredge, even though I don't think Creeping Chill's intention is a good argument for it. The dust has settled and Dredge is a good deck, but not worth banning

part of me thinks one of the main reasons why dredge picked up was because people were really hyped about it getting a new toy, which caused a lot more people to play it. I'm seeing a lot of the hype die down. I mean yeah it's gotten better now but it's probably not the best deck in the format
I'd like to see them experiment more with unbans as well

If you are talking about banning chill, that should not even be a consideration. I don't think any card has been banned in modern less than 3 months after release. Some other dredge enabler needs a ban.
Yeah, Creeping Chill was designed to be used with Surveil, not with decks that can put half their library into the graveyard by turn 3.
Yes, that card was designed for limited. I bet nobody in play design thought that dredge, even before that one of the more unfair decks in the format, would play this card. Free Lightning Helix, anybody?
If no one in play test saw Dredge coming then they need to be fired quite frankly. Faithless looting alone has spent the whole year propping up one deck that abuses the grave and discard after another

You're talking about the same people that made Eldrazi Temple when Eye of Ugin was already in the format, on top of printing cards like Thought-Knot Seer at the same time.

Sure but now we have dedicated Play Test Group...did they have one back when Eldrazi Temple and Eye of Ugin were running around?
I don't remember exactly who said it but I believe someone said that they don't really test for modern? I believe it was around the time of Eldrazi winter when someone said they completely missed how a lot of the new Eldrazi from Oath of the Gatewatch interacted with the lands such as Eldrazi Temple and Eye of Ugin. I get there's a lot to modern, especially with limited staff but some of this is just painful
Yeah, Creeping Chill was designed to be used with Surveil, not with decks that can put half their library into the graveyard by turn 3.
While I get it, the reason I will not cut WOTC a break on this oversight in card design is that they also reprinted freakin narcomoeba. A card that helped bust dredge is right next to creeping chill and nobody thought "hey this creeping chill is a cool card, but it works just like narcomoeba. it could boost dredge in other formats."

That was it's price before blowing up to the 80-90$ range, no pun intended. I plan to get at least one while it's low.

Spirits
Jund, abzan, rock, abzan and bant and bant company would cease to exist. That alone keeps it from being unbanned
It only gets better and better as time goes on.
Itd probably devolve into pod decks warping the deck for mirror matches.
Tron would get better in the process.
