Congratulations on the great results Krond2, that list looks sweet. Alas Fulminator Mage is a bit out of my price range but the Serum Visions were a stroke of genius. I have been testing them today and they helped so much.
DrewReaLee: I agree that Treasure Cruise is massively over hyped and if that was all blue had to offer I wouldn't even bother but I have to say that in my testing (which has been very limited) I have been generally impressed. This is the list I have been using:
The Serum Visions and Augur of Bolas have been really over preforming for me and the ability to control what you draw the turn after a Cloud with Visions has been really good.
I still don't know if it is any better then the normal GB version of the deck but I have Clouded down to 3 lands then next turn drawn Snapcaster Mage to flashback Treasure Cruise, play a land and cast serum visions. Over the next 2-3 turns I cast 2 Augurs, Garruk, Lili, Farseek and an other Treasure Cruise. Probably has more to do with blind luck then the deck but it is still a blast to play.
If I can lay my hands on enough Polluted Deltas by Friday I will play it at FNM this week and give it a proper testing.
I was intending to go to a weekly Modern event last night, but I got hung up at work for a few minutes, and traffic in the direction of the shop was hideous. I'm hoping to get some more testing in this week, and at the very least I should get some games in at FNM, and there's another Sunday tourney.
After thinking about Counterspells, I've decided that if I end up testing them, it will only be Remand. If I need further disruption, I think Duress will come in over IoK. The really scary stuff is Karn, Scapeshift, possibly Pod, Splinter Twin, and Cryptic, which all dodge Inquisition.
Hopefully I'll have some more info to share in a few days, so check back here before Walking Dead on Sunday night

Modern: BW Zombies / BGR Assault Loam / BUR Control

Has anyone tried this deck with a Lotus Cobra ramp plan and Loam? I'm trying a variation that leans in this direction, but I'm pretty far off from being satisfied with a list. Was wondering if anyone has poked around this territory before and could let me know what they found.
Game 1
I was not expecting affinity as no one in our area runs and I got destroyed, I kept a slow hand on the draw and died before I could revolve Damnation and stabilize.
Game 2
This was interesting. Turn 1 on the play, play Serum Visions, draw Chalice of the Void and play it on zero. He scoops.
Game 3
He goes off and destroys me on turn 3.
Round 2 Boggles 2-0
The combination of Lili and Deathcloud made both of these games pretty easy once they revolved.
Round 3 Knights 2-0
Game 1 and 2 where both pretty much the same. He kept a land light hand and I Clouded for his whole board then layed the beat down with Augur.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The cards
Serum Visions: This card was amazing, it helped smooth draws and more importantly allowed me to choose which card I would draw after Death Cloud.
Treasure Cruise: This was Ancestral Recall every time I drew it. Turns out Ancestral Recall is a good card, who knew?
Sultai Charm: I used it twice as removal, every other time I used to to draw cards. Wasn't amazing but the drawing was nice.
Augur of Bolas: This was the card I was most dubious about. I have to admit he was surprising good. He either comes down early as a blocker and draws you a card or he comes down post cloud as a beater (well, not much of a beater) and draws you into ramp or more card draw.
I found the addition of blue really helped out in a lot of situations. Early on the Serum Visions and Augurs help you draw when you aren't using targeted discard or ramp. Post Death Cloud we basically can't lose, the card draw and filtering allowed me to lock my opponent out while filling my hand and board. Overall I really liked the deck and had a blast playing it.

In play: Jund Death Shadow, Grixis Control, Eldrazi Stompy, Ponza
In the yard: RUG Delver, Kiki-Chord, Grixis Twin, Mardu Control, Smallpox, Jeskai Control, Jeskai Delver, Assault Loam, Elves, Deathcloud, Eggs, Storm
Utopia Spawl is a turn faster than Farseek and can allow for turn 2 Liliana or Fulminator mage.
With Farseek Mwonvuli Acid-Moss might be better (and $cheaper) than the Fulminator mage.
Those are both interesting ideas. Think the choice between Utopia Spawl and Farseek comes down to your curve. I don't run enough non-reactionary 3 drops to make it worth while but in a deck running Fulminator Mages and/or Kitchen Finks I could see it as option. Mwonvuli Acid-Moss is really interesting, I don't know if I would run it main board but I might test it place of Rain of Tears in the sideboard.

I got to try the BUG list out again tonight. My games were nearly identical my last Modern FNM as I ended up against 2 of the same opponents on the same decks; White Knights and Boggles, both of these match-ups are in our favor (2-0 on both). I did get to fight combo elves in round 2 and got destroyed by my own deck hating me in game 3, I had to mull to 5 and never saw a blue source, a fetch or any of my 4 board wipe spells.
I am thinking about testing more LD in the main by switching to 3-4 Rain of Tears along with some number of Mana Leaks and Spell Pierce in the main board.
Finally I got a several hours of testing in against Burn last weekend and damn that is a savage match-up. I still have nightmares about Eidolon of Great Revel. However if burn and delver are going to take over the paper meta like they have the MTGO meta I think I might switch to playing the Junk version that DrewReaLee and others were testing.

I'm glad your iteration of BUG Death Cloud is working for you. As a tip, I would be careful with Sultai Charm. Celestial Colonnade is a very real threat and something to look out for. I would have 1-2 Putrefy in your sideboard to protect yourself against manlands and the like. I was going to suggest Fulminator Mage as an overall better card, but noticed you played Snapcaster and Augur which makes Rain of Tears actually really good in your deck.
I am also not running white anymore and have stuck with the core B/G Planeswalker based build. Here's the list in case you were interested.

I am definitely thinking of cutting the Sultai Charms, while the versatility is nice their inability to hit man-land is a pain. I am currently torn as to what to replace them with, I do like Putrefy as it has been a house for me in the past but I am tempted to try Far // Away instead. I have typically found that I only get attacked by man-land late in the game when they have no other creatures, plus sometimes it can be double edict with Lili.
The other card I am going to try replacing is Treasure Cruises for Dig Through Times and see how hard it is on my mana base. My new deck should look something like:
I want to try the Rains main deck but I'm not certain what to cut yet.
Thanks for the advice. I really like your build, however the current price of Nissa's is a bit rich for me at the moment. I am hoping to pick some up post rotation along with a Garruk, Apex Predator.

Had a question about some choices as I was debating playing it myself.
for those running Nissa, any reason to not run arbor elf/utopia sprawl? Since I assume that your mana base is comprised of forests prodominantly, I assume these are the best combination 1 drop mana accellerants.
Dig vs Cruise
I was honestly surprised how easy Dig was to cast in the deck. I never found myself having trouble casting Lili, Garruk and Dig together however I am still unsure if Dig is better then Cruise at this point. I was running 2 Digs and 1 Cruise, Dig was much better before cloud if you are forced into a control situation but Cruise feels better post cloud as any 3 random cards are normally enough to get you going again. I think I am leaning toward as it is more powerful in general but more testing is required.
Far//Away
This one really pulled it's weight all night, it is fairly expensive to fuse but either side is good and it can be a monster with Lili in play.
Discard
I am starting to look for a way to cut alot of the discard from the deck. There isn't a lot of combo in my local meta and it a lot of games it feels dead or would be better served by something else. I did try boarding them out for Rains in a couple of matches and I found them to be more useful. Being able to cut people off their colours and using it to cripple them post cloud is nice, especially with Snapcaster Mages. I think mainboarding more LD might be my next test.

This is one of my favorite decks, by far. I'm glad to see people are doing well. It seems surprise is the one benefit this deck has in the current meta. Although, I've always been a fan of consistency and think the deck should stay strictly Golgari, even if it's just for the time being. Though, I see the strong appeal of running blue in this deck. Serum Visions, Remand, Mana Leak, and Dig are just insane cards.
Did any of you see the aggro/midrange cloud list Gerry T posted yesterday on SCG? Wondering what your thoughts would be on it. I definitely think it looks interesting, as I was thinking a junk build could be tried, but I just didn't like the creatures in it. And I know I'd change things to where it wouldn't function like the original list would be intended.

Hey guys, looking for extra money for cards?
I do it with CashCrate and Swagbucks. Get paid to complete surveys, offers, and other online tasks. Refer friends and family to get even more money. It may not be a lot, but it adds up while messing around on the computer. If you have any questions, feel free to message me and I'll help the best I can.
Could it be possible to make a death cloud list using good ole Dark Confidant and a lower curve? maybe like a Loam/smallpox/death cloud sort of deck? (i have a man crush on dark confidant so...)

It looks like it might be a good Junk deck but it is a terrible Deathcloud deck. He is running too few lands and the mana dorks are really bad if Deathcloud is your main plan. It sort of seems like the child of pod and deathcloud without having the advantages of either, for instance the Angel of Thrune is cute with Finks it seems clunky. That said I do think that Junk could actually be a strong colour combination for the deck and that Sorin is a great choice as he does everything we need and want.

While I do like Bob I don't know how well he fits into a normal B/G cloud list due to the life loss. If you are wanting more of a pox/loam deck you might want to have a look at the Assault Loam thread. There are quite a few different lists which might suit you tastes and your love for Bob while still allowing you to run Deathcloud.
On a side note what do people think of the Tasigur, the Golden Fang in this deck? He is about the size of your average Goyf, dodges Bolt and Abrupt Decay and provides a good post Cloud clock by only costing B, plus even a bad regrowth on a stick is still a regrowth on a stick.

Thanks guys for keeping this thread somewhat alive. I've been so busy recently that I haven't been able to play Modern in at least 2 months. Tasigur, the Golden Fang looks interesting to say the least. It's a better Deadbridge Chant on a stick and after reexamining the card a second time, it's certainly worth taking a look at. Tasigur has more to offer than what's just on the surface. Yes, the regrowth effect is of an opponent's choice, but you can use Tasigur's Delve casting cost to your advantage by getting rid of useless spells like Thoughtseize or higher casting cost cards in your graveyard to basically get what you want. That said, I think he's more of a build around me finisher than he looks.
Death Cloud remains that under the radar type deck. Gerry Thompson's Death Cloud deck is not the same deck I am running at least. As @Artyom already said, it basically looks like a Junk list with a playset of Death Cloud throw in for the surprise factor.
I'm confused by people running creature wincons and things... your wincons are a live garruk, or Golgari rot farm+Treetop village. Those should be enough alone to kill them after cloud. What you want is better ways to play a deathcloud for 4 and seal the game with a high life total/disrupt your opponent.
I played D cloud back during extended times when top was legal, and see it as the missing piece for modern d-cloud to be truly successful. With that said, I have been wondering if Cream of the Crop could be a replacement for card selection. This suggestion is for non-blue decks. With kitchen finks, you see up to 4 cards deep, Garruk is 3. Goyf, etc. it would mainly be used to filter to find the key card, d cloud.
too cute ( you could get cute and play terminus too ! just kidding)
With the new bannings, this deck is playable again. Getting rid of Dig and Cruise puts us back to where we were pre-Khans, and with Birthing Pod gone as well, we don't have to play a million board wipes anymore. Its brewing time.
I agree Chess, what do you think we should expect though as a metagame? Junk, burn, affinity, and maybe amulet combo would be the ones I think of until the PT comes around.

Be prepared to be peppered with lists. Pod was one of the biggest Pre-Khans issues for this deck. My thoughts are that a bwg build is where you will want to be. Siege Rhino, Finks, Lingering Soul's just screams value town. With the new fetches we have a more stable manabase to play with as well. Super excited about this brewers paradise. I'll start going over my old build to get something out for people to look at.

In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.
Drew: I could see him possibly being played just for his effect. Would you run witness also or just use him only?
I currently run one Witness, but I don't think I will be playtesting Tasigur personally. It's a bit too much build around me for my tastes, but he can be viable. As for Tasigur and Witness, if you plan on aggressively delving into Tasigur, it means Witness is much less useful with less choices.

Glad to have you back PMP; I look forward to seeing some of your lists in the future. I do have to revamp my sideboard and this thread now that Pod has been banned. I too struggled finding sideboard answers against Pod but it was an unfavorable matchup.

2 Tectonic Edge
2 Treetop Village
2 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
Those aren't all the lands. But I digress, this is only the GB build. If I decide to jump on the BUG train, it would probably look a little more like
2 Tombstalker
4 Serum Visions
3 Treasure Cruise
4 Farseek
4 Thoughtseize
3 Inquisition of Kozilek
3 Abrupt Decay
1 Slaughter Pact
1 Maelstrom Pulse
2 Garruk Wildspeaker
2 Bitterblossom
In the yard: RUG Delver, Kiki-Chord, Grixis Twin, Mardu Control, Smallpox, Jeskai Control, Jeskai Delver, Assault Loam, Elves, Deathcloud, Eggs, Storm
Death Cloud remains that under the radar type deck. Gerry Thompson's Death Cloud deck is not the same deck I am running at least. As @Artyom already said, it basically looks like a Junk list with a playset of Death Cloud throw in for the surprise factor.

too cute ( you could get cute and play terminus too ! just kidding)
