I built a "kitchen table" monogreen treefolk deck a while ago. Words cannont express how happy I was for seeing a sucessful modern list with treefolks.
Courser of Kruphix might be interesting with Doran and Leaf-Crowned Elder. It's a "4/4" for 3 mana and it takes lands away from the top of your deck so you can hit Treefolks or Shamans more often (the card advantage the Elder gives is insane).
Wickerbough is incredible and hits most of the same things Rootgrapple does, save for LotV and Ajani Vengeant (does Jeskai Control even still play Ajani?). The problem with Rootgrapple is the five mana, though I suppose Bosk Banneret does shave a bit off. I think if you really want the effect you're probably better off with Beast Within, since a 3/3 is smaller than everything in the deck with Doran out.
I like the sound of Courser, but I think we may have to increase our dual count if we want to reliably hit Doran. With less Delver running around this deck gets quite a bit less profit from Arashi and Heartwood Storyteller, so Courser's gradual card advantage could be pretty relevant.
On a side note, is anyone else finding it borderline impossible to find any Dauntless Dourbarks?
that was the easy one for me. Treefolk Harbinger on the other hand took me a month to get my hands on...
just a note i played the mono green treefolk at my lgs and my meta is so combo heavy that fair decks like treefolk have no place there...... if your not stoping them you die turn 3/4 just that simple. vsed infect, affinity, storm
I really like this card, but I think it is kind of a dead card. It turns Treefolk Harbinger in to a large turn 2 beater, but I feel like it encourages you to fill your deck up with walls, which make you rely on Assuslt Formation in order to win.
I think it has a chance against twin, with abrupts in hand, but I feel like it needs a good way to get around flyers and Lily. aI feel like it is too single minded and does not have enough punch as it relies on having 1 of 6 cards in play (which are not hard to remove) to win. Not really a treefolk build either, but I thought I would post it here. I like Heartwood Storyteller too, and I think I should include him as well.
That's a pretty tight list, but it leaves room to run some Path to Exile and a one of Crib Swap that can be tutored for the matchups where having removal really makes a difference. Those slots interchange in Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek against combo and control matchups where targeted removal isn't helpful. Leyline of Sanctity helps against burn and discard.
But Gigantomancer is one heck of a win condition in a token deck like this, especially when you don't actually have to pay for him. Its a fun deck, I'd love to make it better though... Any suggestions?
Equinox's deck and the first deck posted in this thread seem so awesome and most of all FUN. Even better that they're apparently competitive. I'm guessing Equinox knows a bit about matchup strengths/weaknesses?
I like Heartwood Storyteller in main deck as you can get some value even if it gets removed (and even more if it doesn't get removed right away). Next PPTQ season is Modern I guess, I'll try this list at least once. I still need to find a few pieces, but once it is assembled I'll post the list here (hoping for a Fulminator Mage reprint in MM2)

You are too kind Sadly I do not yet own the deck so I cannot tell you how well my list works. My advice to you if you are going to run straight treefolk is to have a plan against removal/agressive strats.

On mtgsalvation people don't want to discuss ideas, so I give people something else to discuss: my controversial opinions.
Btw, Dromoka's Command seems like a fair card in the deck. It is good against Burn and Twin and could help to remove a creature while making our Treefolks bigger.
So I've been running basically OP's decklist (different fetches, but whatever) and sideboard tweaked more for my local meta and I must say: I love this deck. I love having a hexproof beater that gets bigger than goyf. I love having a "bob" with 5 on the butt. I love fetching for three color lands. It's pretty wonderful. I am tempted to replace the leaf-crowned with siege rhino, though.
Been playing this list in a local tribal wars last thursday. Top tiers were hate-banned (Elf and Merfolk), but it still crushed everything (Knights, Vampires, Slivers, Minotaurs, Allies). Was my first time with the deck, though I knew many cards from a Shaman deck I brought to an earlier Tribal Wars.
Unexpected MVP was Dauntless Dourbark, playing an 11/11 trampler for 2 mana was insane.
Worst card, obviously Everbark Shaman.
Any thoughts? What do you think about the new Commander Treefolk?
I've been testing this deck (the op list) removing the trackers and adding 2 x assault formation and 4x tower defense and this deck is AWESOME. It's capable of beating any aggro deck and control deck. 4 spellskite from the side plus some more hatebears help to the combo matches.
I'm liking it a lot, has lot of sinergies and beating from 50 damage in a single attack is wonderful.
I'll post my list later cause I'm writing by phone. Yes, I've removed the trackers, storytellers, fulminator,1 Nameless, Arashi, timber protector and 1 land and included 4 tower defense, 1doran,1 harbinger, 2 Assault formation and 3 spells kites. My list has 61 cards and is working like a blast. I'll post it later. Any suggestions??
I've increased the number of Doran to four. It's a powerhouse and with the kites they are protected. I was thinking on including more removal but not sure because we need treefolk cards to combine with leaf elder. Lignify is bad with Doran out and Nameless doesn't kill twin(although we have spellskites main deck, with Doran out they can kill you ) . Beside of that we need a way to gain life against some decks like burn and the such. Any suggestions??
I don't think we need the blue mana cause in my list I'm playing birds of paradise. I prefer birds over utopia because it provides mana of any color and if you cast tower defense with Doran or assault the birds can kill the opponent flying over his defenses.
I was also thinking on increasing also the number of spellskites to four.
I like the list of the link you provided. The rhinos are very sexy but I prefer keeping the deck into treefolk tribal because leaf elder, and dour barks are awesome. Beside of that if we keep tribal we can play harbinger, the hexproof tree and cavern of souls.
Another doubt is: play 4 Doran and 3 assaults formation or 3 Doran and 4 assaults?? With Doran you wreck affinity for example and he can beat but Doran are easier to remove and more expensive with triple cost and can help the opponent to beat with bigger dudes. What do you think?
Any more ideas??
I've been testing and found:
Good match ups
*affinity ( Doran shuts almost this deck)
*dredge vine (our threats are bigger and we can stall till they come into play)
*infect (4 spellskites make it easy)
*boggles (same than above)
*Stompy (same than above and Doran help too against Geist, dryads and the so)
Medium difficulty
*Jund ( here the dungrove elder is our main wincon cause they can remove it (only liliana and we have other expendable critters) )
*Zoo with burn they can race us
*Merfolk if they spawn the table with lot of dudes sometimes we can't stop them. Perhaps a massive removal would be necessary in the sideboard.
Bad pairings
Burn ( I'm going to include 4 endolon of retórica here against them)
Combo (eidolon helps here too but there are unaffected combos like amulet or scapeshift).
Anyways the deck is consistent and works really fine but we need a way of gaining life. I'm not sure if the treefolk theme or the non treefolk one (rhinos, endolon, and other non treefolk stuff) would be better. What do you think?
The harbinger provides us tutoring, leaf crowned card advantage and we have 12 big beaters (doran, dungrove and dourbarks ). I'm still thinking about sapling of colfenor to gain some life ( but 5 mana is a lot. If only the Arbor that give you 13 life would be a treefolk instead of a plant )
Any ideas or suggestions are welcome
She's been having some good results still. The mana base looks a little scrappy (budget reasons), but so far she has not been having problems getting the splash colors when she needs them. Main deck white is really light (just doran), but sideboard is pretty white heavy (obviously since it's the best color for sideboard).
Abrupt decay, path to exile, wrath of god, damnation in this deck?
2 drops besides banneret: tarmogoyf, heartless summoning, abrupt decay?
What do you guys think about Rootgrapple (as a sideboard perhaps) and Woodfall Primus (a one of maybe)?
Courser of Kruphix might be interesting with Doran and Leaf-Crowned Elder. It's a "4/4" for 3 mana and it takes lands away from the top of your deck so you can hit Treefolks or Shamans more often (the card advantage the Elder gives is insane).

The idea is to put a lot of creatures on the board and make those creatures bigger with Gigantomancer, Craterhoof Behemoth, Mirror Entity, or worst case Timber Protector. We cheat these expensive cards into play with either Windbrisk Heights or Leaf-Crowned Elder. Both of these leave you with enough mana to activate Gigantomancer or Mirror Entity enough to usually finish off opponents the turn they come into play. We make lots of tokens with Nest Invader, Wolf-Skull Shaman, Spectral Procession, and Lingering Souls. We also run a good number of tutors in this list with Congregation at Dawn and Treefolk Harbinger, both put creatures on top of your library (Harbinger can also be used to tutor for Forests which can color/mana fix in a pinch). Ordinarily, that would be less than optimal, but we are cheating the top card of our library into play so its actually quite effective.
