So with Silumgar's Scorn spoilered I couldn't help myself; I've been trying to brew a Grixis Dragon Control deck. Will it be Tier 1? Most likely not. Will it be awesome? Absolutely
Silumgar's Scorn is the reason this deck exists. While the requirement to turn it into Counterspell is a tad wonky, it is definitely achievable if built around, and being able to counter any spell at any time for only two mana is worth the investment.
Thundermaw Hellkite is both the deck's finisher and a way to trigger Scorn. It can present an insanely fast and sudden clock, especially when it comes in multiples.
Nameless Inversion is a slightly funky removal spell that triggers Scorn in hand. It could also be used to pump Thundermaw Hellkite if necessary
Mutavault is on its own a powerful manland which can lategame turn Scorn into Cancel
Serum Visions is needed to help smooth out the deck's awkward manabase, and also helps finding a dragon card for Scorn.
The main problem with the deck right now is that it has a very weak manabase due to the four Mutavaults. It might be required to cut one or two. The deck also has no mainboard answers to creatures with a toughness of 3 or more, due to Nameless Inversion taking up removal slots.
Any thoughts, input or ideas would be greatly appreciated
EDIT: Just realized Undermine isn't modern legal. Whoops!
Any way to fit Tasigur in there? Your going to lean pretty hard on that counterspell to also pull you through the early game I would think, while Remands would be feeding you cards. Drop 1 of Snare, Electrolyze, Cryptic, for 3 Tasigur?
The deck already has plenty of wincons I'd say, and adding any new wincon would require it to be a dragon. I do however think that adding two remand could work for the early game
