I am from Germany, so please excuse my maybe pure English.
A few weeks ago i saw a video posted on YouTube by Jim Davis, he was playing a Sultai Midrange list containing JTMS.
I liked his plans and ideas behind the list.
As you can see the list combines disruption and counterspells, which i don't like too much. As well as the mainboard Collective Brutality.
So i asked myself what can you change to make this deck more Jund-ish. I took the Jund list of a friend and searched for alternatives you can play and how you can compansate the loss of Lightning Bolt, Kolaghan's Command and BBE.
I was switching cards around like a madman, but then i had a list i thought would be nice to play.
It looks like this:
I do not have too much play practise with this yet. Just played 2 FNMs which were pretty nice to play.
First FNM went 3-2 winning vs Eldrazi Tron, Bogles and Jund, losing to Bogles and Grixis Shadow.
The second FNM went just awesome.
4-0 every win was pretty confidant, due to one bye.
Won vs Bant Knightfall 2-0, Abzan Coco 2-0 and Jund 2-1.
The overall high number of pure value spells, get multiplied with Snapcaster Mage, the manacurve you can lay on board is just absurd.
Compared to BBE Jund you also play the much more consistent list. With Serum Visions and Jace you manipulate you deck in a pretty nice way. The usual cards that generate card advantage are the same as in the Jund lists, but with Snapy you can use them twice as well and Jace is an additional over the top thread.
With Bitterblossom you can generate chump blockers till the end of you livepool or in combination with a Scavenging Ooze until there are no more creatures in any graveyard. Aswell as you can discard the Blossom and pump your Tarmogoyf by 2.
Overall i have to say that this deck has much potential to me and will keep playing this list for the next months.
But maybe you guys overseas have some sweet ideas which can push this deck to the next level.
Have a nice weekend!
Tim
