No the point is that they'll remand the grapeshot and go off again for just 1 or 2 (which is your life total). It's pretty hard to survive double lethal, nvm that they likely have creatures in play to kill you regardless.
Cruious, which is the best cards to give to a storm player in that pile? I usually give them the 2 red rituals and put PiF and morphose in the graveyard.
1.) when they have a blue source
2.) which is more mana intensive
3.) which gives more possibilities of the storm player blanking

If they have 3+ mana floating and you don't have a pact to interact, then it pretty much doesn't matter which cards you give them, at that point the kill is deterministic. However, if you have a pact, then you should put the PIF in the Graveyard so you can counter it and set back their turn / fizzle it. If they have 2 or fewer mana floating, then you should put the rituals in the GY and give them Morphose + PIF, in case they don't have another ritual (because they can't continue to go off without extra mana at that point).
I'm going to GP Lyon in 2 weeks. Will I see any of you there?
Gonna be using a list similar to Two Face's list he used recently.
I put Ad Nauseam down for a month because I was gonna play Titanshift but I just never felt happy playing it so I'm back!
Any suggestions or tips?

Right now, we're pretty much on the low side. We have to shed our skin for a certain period of time (maybe a year) to be forgotten. What we do, some other decks do it better : Storm is faster and so is Grishoalbrand. In terms of combo deck, we have been for a year the premium combo deck with Ganz winning in 2016, then Jadin making 2nd in October 2016 at the SCG Open and Byrd winning the Louisville Open in March 2017. Now, other than Grafensteiner on the Pro Tour, we are not favored. Too much DS Shadow and Humans also. Storm is a die roll and Control is naturally good, but not tempo, so Jeskai is rough. Traverse decks and other grindy decks are 50/50. The only great matchup for us is Tron right now. So I'm not sleeving up Ad Nauseam that much these times.
Sideboard seems ok, but I'd take away 1 Bontu's Last Reckoning and 1 Spellskite for 2 spot removal (Path or Push). Even 2 Grafdigger's Cage seems overload. Do you fear Dredge that much?
For some reason I just wanted to try things out for the first time during a GP. Gideon, Bontu's are both new additions. I'm pretty sure Gideon mainboard isn't quite there yet. Bontu's I'm unsure about, I'll still be trying it out.
Prior to this GP I've been trying out 2 Opt instead of Gideon and the Peer, it was alright.
R1 Eldrazi Tron.
G1W he doesn't make tron plays a matter reshaper and dies to my T4.
Sideboard: In Bontu's, verdict, echoing, ethereal. Out: 1 pentad, 1 bloom, 2sleight of hand
G2L he plays a T2 chalice on 1, I'm stuck with 3 dead cards in hand and die to thoughtknots. (Bontu's gets countered by warping wail)
G3L T2 chalice again but this time I have a phyrexian unlife, I spend 4 turns not being able to find the ad nauseam. (Bontu again gets countered)
R2 U Tron.
He was new to the deck and didn't have a chance to interact at all
G1W
G2W
R3 Grixis' Death's Shadow
G1L I punt, I used 2 simians already to cast an early unlife to survive and needed a 2nd for the adnauseam (2 left in the deck), Instead of going off on my turn and play a land to cast the storm I pass the turn.
G2L Mulled down to 5 looking for a leyline, kept a marginal hand and got destroyed by a T2 tasigur into T3 thoughtseize, deathshadow.
R4 8Rack
G1W Miracle win, he strips my hand of a grace and an unlife. I top deck unlife on T3 and play it, bloom comes off suspend and I draw ad nauseam T6
G2L Mull to 4 trying to find a leyline with no luck, keep a hand with bloom, land, land, simian, he lands rack into rack thoughtseize.
G3L Mull to 6 with a leyline and pieces but 1 land, I fail to draw lands for 6 turns.
Notes I took away, in almost no situation did I want to see Gideon instead of Unlife. Field of Ruin and Ghost Quarter really make me want to put a basic Swamp into the deck and I will always keep mikokoro in the main.
I don't think the unbanning of Jace is good for us...Leylines would be good against him though.
I thought about it and it seems worse than Nahiri (against us) in a lot of ways. Its win con is much slower compared to a nahiri ult and casting it on turn 4 still risks losing to the combo. The pro to using Jace is that its plus ability some what interacts with us if we don't have the combo yet, but I don't see that being a huge problem if the control player does the smarter thing and plays it while holding up counter magic.
Have you ever played the deck vs control? We have a great matchup. Control gets more representation and taps out for a shiny 4 drop. this is a great meta for ad naus coming up.
Hey all, I’m very new to the deck, as I got a really good deal on it from a Facebook friend. My sideboard is as follows and that’s what I’m the most concerned about.
3 Thoughtseize
2 Fatal Push
2 Bontu’s Last Reckoning
2 Echoing Truth
2 Darkness
1 Hurkyl’s Recall
1 Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir
1 Slaughter Pact
1 Nihil Spellbomb
My meta at my LGS is pretty spread out, Affinity, Abzan Druid Combo, Burn, Storm, Elves, UR Breach, 2 GB Tron, 2 RW Nahiri, Lantern, Traditional Abzan, Dredge, Infect, and BR Hollow One. I’ve chosen to not include the Leylines as there is so little discard effects in my meta, so it’s not a huge issue. I’ve been wanting to experiment with Solemnity and Gideon of the Trials to get some more staying power against the aggro decks.

1 Thoughtseize less would be good, 1 less Echoing Truth too. I don't like Bontu. Otherwise, seems ok (Nihil is sweet)!
EDIT : Chris Flink went 7th at IQ Toronto with his sweet list. No fastlands, no fetchlands, unique take. 'Gratz buddy!
I used to play Ad Nauseam about a year ago but sold it. I'm wondering if you guys think it's wise to build it in this new meta of Jace, Jund on the rise, and GDS and Humans still lurking around.
I miss playing it but don't really want to waste the money building if it's in a really bad spot right now.

I think that the deck will be okay. In short :
1) More BBE means more Jund and some other midrange strategies, so not good for us (discard kills us + pressure is hard to handle at the same time).
2) Control is great for us with Pact of Negation, Boseiju and Silence even. Jace with help control decks in the long run, so when they land it on turn 4-5, we should have the combo. So great.
3) Other fringe strategies will be checked out with new meta of Jace and BBE. So that doesn't change much.
So, linear decks like Affinity, Bogles, Burn and Tron will be there and they are a natural good matchup for us, so that stays. Midrange in the form of Jund and DS will spike up, so that's not good, but not scary. More Jace decks however is good because against slower decks we're great. Lastly, some degenerate decks like Grishoalbrand winning on turn 2-3 and Storm will be out there too, so we'll have competition for being the best combo deck (which I don't think we are).
In all, if you liked the deck, buy it back, it's an eternal deck : it has been around since 2011, nothing will change (the ape won't get the axe). It'll do good in the new meta, but won't be the best deck in the world.
In the new world order of Jace and BBE, what lists will people be trying? Used to be really big into Ad Nauseam, before the GDS nightmare, and am looking to get back into the deck.
Probably 3 Spoils of the Vault, split Lightning Storm and Laboratory Maniac and some combination of 6-8 temples and 6 fastlands lands. I'll be on my usual list :
Thanks, I enjoyed Peer/Teachings more than Spoils back when I played, I'll try your list out and see what's what.
How did testing with Gideon of the Trials turn out? I remember when he was first spoiled there was some discussion about where he'd fit in and Ad Nauseam was a top contender; is he just a worse Phyrexian Unlife in practice?
So what's with the City of Brass that everyone runs now? I understand it can be used when you have no life unlike the other card like it (can't remember it's name) but doesn't the life loss make Burn and Affinity much worse?
