I feel that 13 threats is too light so I added a Clique and another YP main. Also upped the land to 18. I dropped down Remand to 2 copies and cut Mana Leak entirely. Reason is I wanted more 1cmc counters so I replaced it with 2x Spell Snare, which is not bad against Affinity and Storm and hits Chalice for 1. Rounding up my counterspell is 2x Spell Pierce. I feel that with 17-18 lands it's hard to land a threat or keep the tempo while holding 2cmc counters. I am also testing 2 copies of Chart a Course replacing 1 SV and 1 Opt. It"s easy to play if you have a Delver or a bunch of Tokens.
My changes reduces the chance of Delver flipping but I feel that it's wrong to go all in the Delver plan especially when it's so hard to protect the tempo plan without free and efficient counter spells.
Midrange decks like Jund/Junk is very hard and so is Eldrazi Tron.
Whoa! That's a lot of affinity hate! Pretty big in your meta?
I've been running 2x keranos for the jund/junk m/u. I'm thinking of cutting it for Chandra: tod. Since getting to 5 mana is sketch sometimes with 17/18 lands.
That may be really good since all they run against planeswalkers is 1x maelstrom pulse and 2x bolt nowadays.
Still don't know what to board against eldrazi tron. Maybe 3x ceremonious rejection 1x wear/tear? For both etron and affinity?
I tried 2x surgical last Friday and it was FIRE. Especially with young PZ.
I have Affinity, Tron and Ad Naus which is why I pack in Stony Silence. The Rejection and Stroke is for Eldrazi/Scapeshift which is why I also have Spreading Seas as it is really hard to keep up with ETron once they have Cavern. Balista and Hangarback are also very tough for us to deal with.
Great idea with Surgicals and PZ, I'll probably try some in place of a Relic and 1 Wear//Tear.
What do you guys think on soulfire grand master in the sideboard?
In a meta full of burn, elves, scapeshift and some control. Could be good to buy some cards back.
I agree with you Mykhoncho. I think jeskai delver is EXTREMELY well positioned right now. I am actually somewhat surprised the more pros and/or SCG grinders haven't picked up on this fact yet. I think many of the players have bought into the idea that Delver of Secrets is "bad" in modern. I think that stems from the past in which Lightning Bolt was the most played card in modern. I actually think delver was fine then too (and I played the deck during the jund era as well).
I have talked aout a lot of this in the Jeskai Delver/Prowess forum in deck creation, but I think the main beneficiary of the printing of Opt was Young Pyromancer. The addition of a good 1 CMC instant speed spell really pushed Young P's power level back into playablility. Full disclosure, I only play young P in my sideboard, but she gives us a great tool against some of our tougher matchups - midrange decks.
I agree with purklefluff hat Spell Queller is also very well positioned right now. I have found him to be very good at being able to help pick or switch roles when we have to. If we are playing the control/tempo role we can utilize him as a speed bump or a delay and if we just need a beater we can hold up counter magic and flash him in at the end of turn as a 2 power flyer. Because he is a thre drop and doesn't hit for a ton, Queller will likely not be a 4 of in many delver based lists, but I have really enjoyed him as a 1-2 of in my list. Does anyone else run any copies of spell queller?
On the deck construction notes that Prodigy brought up, I tend to agree that 18 lands is more beneficial than 17 (depending on build of course). I actually played 19 for awhile and I have a VERY low curve. I did find that 19 was too many so I have recently cut it to 18, but I think that may be the absolute minimum I would feel comfortable with for consistency purposes. I play four 3 CMC cost creatures and 3 snapcasters mages as my only "3 CMC" spells. I don't play any 4 CMC spells currently in the main or sideboard. I have run Chandra Pryomaster in my sideboard before, but don't currently. As for threats I think 15-16 is the sweetspot for my personal build. Again, this really depends on your build. Some people start with a more tempo or control oriented build and then can side into a more aggressive build if necessary, some start with tempo/control and side into even more midrange/control, and other start aggro/tempo and side into a more tempo or aggro-control build. I fit in the later group. Therefore, an early threat is very important to the success of my deck so I keep the threat count around 16 with 8 or so 1-CMC threats (Delver and Swiftspear). One thing that is great about the jeskai delver family of decks is just how malleable the deck can be. You can really build your deck to fit your own individual playstyle.
On the Soulfire Grandmaster topic, I haven't tried her myself. However, if your meta is full of burn and elves give her a try. I think it would be better against the straight aggro decks rather than the go wide decks, however, she could be good against the really grindy matchups as well. Keep us posted if you give her a try.
On final question- How does everyone feel about Chart a Course. I have found the card to be very strong especially in our bad matchups. I noticed the Prodigy is playing a few copies. Is anyone else running a copy or two? If so, what do you think?
Hi everyone. I asked my viewers which deck they'd like to see next (http://www.strawpoll.me/14242602), and I am hoping to get some feedback from this thread on which Jeskai Delver build to focus on. The main benefit I see to running a delver list over the popular Tempo lists, is tjat you have an earlier clock, and in theory the matchups like RG Valakut should be better.
What do you think?

Awesome!
Looks like Delver is in the lead. The list I posted above is pretty close to the ones that have had the most recent results, but with opt for instant speed cantrips/running 17 lands and electrolyze for aggro/souls.
Either way, play which ever you want. I don’t know if anyone has agreed to a set list yet.

I agree that we haven't come to a conclusion of a set list yet. This deck is so easily tweaked to a person's preference it's hard to come up with a list that will suite most players. I do think their are two "schools" of jeskai delver decks right now and it really comes down to your creature base. There is the aggro-control lists with delver, swiftspear, geist, etc and the more midrange decks with delver, young pyromancer, venilion clique, etc. A lot of the spells are very similar in the two decks but just in different numbers depending on whether you want more burn or more permission/counter magic.
Hey guys- I've been playing UWR in Modern for a very long time. I started with UWR Draw-Go, and then got into Nahiri when she was printed. Played her for a while, and then Jeskai fell off the map a bit for a few months. During that time, I screwed around with Jeskai Delver, as well as UW and Esper Control. Over the summer, Jonathan Rosum got top 8 at four Opens in a row with a Jeskai Tempo list, and I immediately bought into it and started playing it. Harlan won the Open a few weeks later, and I was sold. Currently playing his list at the moment, but I have always been interested in Jeskai decks that are a bit off that radar (like Jeskai Pyromancer Ascension). I have a Delver list that I'd like some critique on. Thanks!

Nate,
I think this deck is a great choice right now. Opt is strong. I did pretty well at a PPTQ recently, going 5-0-2 in swiss (only one ID) to take the top seed with the deck. Think there were 68 people at the tournament. If you look at my post history you can see my tournament report and some of the justification for the cards I am running. Here is my decklist, would love to hear what you think of it.
tlhunter07- I think your deck looks great. I personally haven't been a huge fan of Chart a Course and only run 1 copy. 4 might be too many.
Dot8911- As I said above, Chart a Course has been weird for me. It has been great in some games and has stuck in my hand for other games. For my personal list I am only running one copy and it might get cut. I think it works really well in the pure temppo style decks that need a litle card advantage to get cards back from the loss of tempo. For the more aggro-control decks I am not a huge fan. I don't think it's bad, but I don't think it's a must have.
Also awesome finish in the 68 man tournament! I wouldn't change a thing in your list if you dominating events. Very cool to see someone do well in competitive event.

As a side note, I haven't tested Chart much, but on paper it looks insane. Has anyone tested it, and how has it performed?
This list looks quite good to me. I like how Delver draws fire away from your later Quellers for interactive matchups, and combines with Queller to adequately pressure linear decks. Both are also great with Chart, and it's nice that a T3 Queller leads smoothly into a T4 raided Chart + two-mana disruptive spell.
You're (correctly) giving up Colonnade to accommodate Delver, so my question would be how has that trade been working out? Do you find yourself missing the manland often? Which matchups do you struggle with?
the card itself really isn't worth the card board its printed on...does it serve a purpose? Sure its a blue 1 drop that might not be a 1/1. I would not put it in a list and expect to win a PTQ or GP though.
The trade has been fine- I've jammed some games versus Shadow, and sometimes having another wincon would be better, but TBH it seems fine. I haven't played this current iteration much, but I'll have a tourney report from FNM (if I can get Delvers in time).
Thanks CurdBros, it was a great tournament. I have top-8ed once or twice before but this was the best finish I have ever had.
Chart a Course looks interesting, but I have not tested it yet. I think it is OK on the play, but probably not what you want on the draw. It makes me sad that it doesn't play well with Prowess.
Me too. I really wanted it to work out for me because I remember the Treasure Cruise days, but it just didn't fit my build that well. I know some others who run a more midrange build love the card so I don't think it's bad. I just play mostly at instant speed :).
On another note-
GreatNate is at it again! Here is a link to the second match with the jeskai delver deck. Luckily he gets another chance to tussle with Eldrazi Tron:
I must say I think Nate played very well and found the correct lines. The one mana "mishap" didn't cost him anything and other than that he played WAY better than I would think an average person picking up the deck would play. Thanks again to Nate for playing the deck.
I'm currently testing 12 cantrips with a full set of Chart. Peezy has been good with the high density of spells. The tokens he generates can be fodder to Chart which has also been great in all stages. Late game, when digging for a threat or a burn spell for reach, you can Chart and discard extra fetches or dead counterspells.
Moving forward, I would like to try a list with Spell Queller, replacing YP and/or Geist. I may need to do some adjustments with the mana though as 17 is really shaky for another set of 3-drops. Remand is also a little meh, I'd probably shave one and try Deprive.
prolly a localized issue then
haven't seen any type of eldrazi deck here in a while.
people just rather play Tron here.

Obviously it has its best/worst matchups, but as a generalist maindeck card it's very strong.
What's the consensus?
I tested a list very similar to yours which is mostly based from Nolan Aguirre http://sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=116418
