I'm not certain that Spider Umbra is better than Forced Adaptation. Too often, Spider Umbra feels like a +1/+1 counter Aura with irrelevant Totem Armor (Hyena Umbra outclasses it all day because First Strike cuts through early drops like butter). I'm still running a list with 4 Forced Adaptation, and while late ones do suck and not playing as many creatures makes me a little more insecure, I've gotten 2 or more +1/+1 counters per Forced Adaptation pretty often.
I've seen Forced Adaptation in Pauper versions of Bogles, so I'm really curious why no one's picked it up. Is it really terrible, or is it more like Unflinching Courage (which didn't really see play until Reid Duke tried it)?
Ordeal of Nylea's +1/+1 counters dodge some of the removal spells (including tranquility effects) and it's pretty efficient for its cost. Don't knock it till you've tried it.
But the 10 life from the white ordeal seems irrelevant, we are aggro and allready have some lifegain.
Also, the search 2 lands from the green ordeal seems irrelevant.
Just for getting +1/+1 counters, 2 mana is asked too much.
I dont think ordeals will make a cut here - would not play.

The great Eldrazi Overlords will return to the Modern World.
what would be some sideboard cards you would recommend for this deck when thinking about the mirror match?
also, how do you guys deal with blood moons?
Depends on what's in your SB. Spellskite is an obvious choice and any Disenchant cards you might have. Just don't take out more than the main deck PtE, it's important not to dilute your explosiveness, it's going to come down to who has the bigger Bogle the fastest.
Rule of Law is great but it costs three, and I really hate to add another 3cc card to the deck. Conversely, Tajuru Preserver is 1G and adds another creature, but it's fragile- it's 2/1 and is targetable.
Thoughts?

Apparently 'Just getting started' still applies even though I've been on here since 2008...

Say that when a animated Inkmoth nexus fly over your enchanted creature and hit for lethal with Plating or Pumped by Ravager...
I prever Spider Umbra over Hyena Umbra, since the deck already have 8 first strike source (Ethereal Armor and Coronet), so 1 maximize spider umbra and then fill the rest of the slots with hyena.
Has anyone ever run Surgical Extraction in here? I'm thinking about trying it. Seems very relevant to any hate that could come about. Kor Spirit dancer taken out by Path? Surgically Extract that thing.

I've thought about that before, but it requires the card to be in their graveyard. Usually, to make use of it would require they already used a burn/removal on the poor dancer
I prefer to use that card in sideboards for decks that pack a lot of removal or discard. The applications in this particular deck are a bit narrow and situational. I would say give it a try and see how you like it though.
Does anyone think that this deck could support Auratog. I think his interaction with rancor is disgusting enough to need a home. G/W auras seems like a fit (at least color-wise). With a kor spiritdancer in play, this would be a neat draw engine. Auratog could possibly go as a 2-of in the MD.
Too cute? Maybe a different home?
The problem with Auratog is that Kor Spiritdancer is just the same but better. A lot of decks run 2 or so spiritdancers, if you want more of that effect just play 4 of them instead of 2.
So I play this deck, but i dont have any fetch lands, Horizon Canopies, or Daybreak coronets because of the $$$. What I put in instead is 3 path to exiles, a lifelink, and 2 spirit mantles and trimmed 1 Unflinching courage. I also trimmed the land base down to 18 because without the replacement power of Horizon Canopy, i feel like having 21 lands is too much. I also replace the expensive lands with basics and a 2 sunpetal groves.
what are your thoughts? Do i need 20 lands, or is 18 fine? also, do I need Dryad arbor if i dont have fetch lands? i feel like dryad isnt that great and might be cutting it

Replacing lands with more spells and expensive spells at that in a shaky deck that mulligans hard for the right hand? Sign me up?

Sorry for replying so late, but I still prefer Hyena Umbra because I aggressively mull for Bogles, so every redundant First Strike source helps early-game.
I do see the value of Spider Umbra and its Totem Armor in the recent 4 Kor Spiritdancer builds, but I still honestly prefer Silhana Ledgewalker over it because it has Hexproof, so I still don't like Spider Umbra as much as they do.
...That and I haven't faced much Affinity lately. It's more midrange and ground-based aggro decks.

I replace the coronets with spirit mantle, which is actually easier to cast. get rid of a unflinching courage and replace it with life link... how am i adding more expensive spells to this deck?
Attempting to make a good deck budget by cutting the expensive cards is just shooting yourself in the foot. Swap the fetches for pain lands if you will, but the horizon canopies and the daybreak coronet are very essential. Also cutting to 18 lands is a horrible idea, you will regularly mull to 4 or 5 in this deck, cutting lands just makes your draws even more unreliable.
Without daybreak coronet I don't really see the deck as good. Having it basically auto wins every aggro matchup. The fetches can become brushland or razorverge thicket easily.
Would someone mind explaining why Daybreak Coronet is so essential?
I understand the qualities of the Vigilance and Lifelink in terms of beating aggro, but in a deck that sometimes has consistency issues isn't it a bit greedy to play a WW that can only help a previously-enchanted creature?
The likes of Spirit Mantle lets you nearly ignore aggro and Deathtouch creatures altogether, especially if you Spirit Link your own or one of their creatures. I'm also sometimes having issues against Tron; a Daybreak Coronet is something for my regular G/R opponent to hit with Nature's Claim or Karn.
I am aware that Daybreak Coronet is better, and must admit that budget issues are forcing me to seek alternatives. However, I still don't quite understand why the card is so vital and would appreciate any help with that.
Bogle is a beating machine with a very specfic toolbox (auras) that doesn't change much; most deck pilots will realize that the only way to beat bogle is to disrupt it or race it.
If they are racing, what better way than to chump block and swing with the rest of the team. Thats where Daybreak Coronet comes in, in your toolbox, this is your swiss army knife. It enables your creature to play both offense and defense due to its vigiliance /lifelink / first strike effect.
You're creature is always going to be bigger, and always going to come out on top in any combat situation (with First Strike -- first strike will also counter their deathtouch creatures). Even if they chump block you a few turns, you're getting a 10 life swing each attack phase (yours and your opponents). Any hope of racing bogle backfires with Daybreak on board. W
Because of the very few threats that bogles has on board, it's really important to play fetches and a copy or two of dryad arbor. Mostly due to the jund matchup. Jund has liliana of the veil which can cause you to sacrifice your creature. Having a uncracked fetch online to grab that dryad arbor to sac in place is really important.
Horizon Canopy is another important tool in your toolbox, because bogle has no real way of replenishing its hand other than a kor spiritwalker (which almost always gets killed right away), horizon canopy helps you dig one card deeper which could be the difference between winning and losing a game.
Spirit Mantle is a good card, the only enchantment that I would cut to play it would be unflinching courage. The other auras are just too essential to the bogle toolbox.
I love this deck and I would like to practice playing fast aggro decks, so I picked up all the components except for the lands (the most expensive part ofc..) Now i was wondering if i can do fine with just 6 fetches 4 shocks 4 fast lands and skip the expensive canopy for now... thanks!

Vs. Blood Moon we fetch our sole Forest and use either Nature's Claim/Deglamer or drop a Seal of Primordium before BM resolves...
