Quote from emaugust »Gearing up for SCG regionals Chicago this weekend. Thinking about what a good composition might look like.
Planning on running 2 plains and 1 forest to fight back a bit more against field of ruin.
I have been testing 2 keen sense but not nearly enough. I think I am going to run a fun-of. I have found it tends to provide false hope in the UW control matchup but cards are cards and I want all of them!
4x Leyline in the main seems to be a valid consideration w/ burn and jund on the rise. But it also seems like not-the-worst time to have access to some path in the main. Not sure where to go here as to me these cards are sort of a binary. For instance, path would be way better against spirits. Both suck against WU control.
As for the sideboard, I am off of Tocatli for humans atm as I think Humans will be suppressed. Considering trying a worship.
Anyone else seeing success with some new tech or meta positioning?
Edit: looked over a bunch of burn lists on mtgtop8... is it true that burn players are getting off of sideboard destructive revelry / deflecting palm?
Quote from JonConner »Yikes. Got hammered at regionals.. and I don't mean drunk. My problem was Spiritdancer. She's starting to feel like a bit of a win more card. Two or three years ago I feel like there was a decent chance that removal spells were boarded out and Spiritdancers was amazing.. now the absolute best I can hope for is to draw a card off the aura cast trigger and control another creature to attach the aura to. I like ledgewalker alot but as tournaments progress and the lesser decks/players are weeded out, it's too slow. The deck obviously mulligans alot and being forced to keep a one creature hand with Spiritdancer is not good enough. One bolt, path, push, decay, trophy and it's over. Good thing those cards aren't popular or anything, ha. It's like bogles entire strategy is to blank the opponenets cards and I'm letting them off the hook by playing something to sink their cards/mana into. I've tested Ledgewalker for 50-60 matches or so but I'm going to revist it and see how it does. Maybe a 3/1 split with Spiritdancer. I'm fine with being a bit slow and losing.. I'm getting reeeeally sick of getting blown out with Spiritdancer draws.
Quote from AlCaralZ12 »Hello, if it's not too much trouble, could you share your list ?, I've been playing bogles for a few months, but lately I do not get good results, I'd like to know yours to see what changes I could make. Thanks in advance.
Quote from icehippo »Hi everybody. I’m seeing Dromoka's Command played more, anyone playing this card like to explain why this card is so good and worth including in the main board?

On a similar note, it appears Open the Armory has gained some favorability again; a lot of those same lists that have D Command have OtA as a 2 of MB. OtA always looked so good on paper, but never really panned out in practice; aside from 1 of auras that one might want to tutor up depending on matchup (Spirit Link), OtA is almost always going to be used to fish for a Coronet. The problem with that is we need access to 3 white mana and 4 mana total in order to play both on the same turn. I think a case can be made for OtA in decks that play a lot of 1-of toolbox auras, but there's no benefit to be had by jamming it into a typical decklist IMO.

I appreciate it. I've always wondered about Bant Bogles in practice. I've never done it or Aura Swap, despite having all the cards. I just didn't have the guts.
One thing I'd be wary of is [c]Thing in the Ice[/I]. It turned an easy matchup into a nightmare for us. I would like to have 4 Path to Exile and probably even 1-2 Dismember in the SB for that card. Maybe that's overdoing it since I haven't played actually played Bogles in a while, but I feel scared of it. It flipping is GG for Bogles. Scoop it up time...
