I don't mind a one drop dying to bolt. I do mind a four drop going over to it- thats a big loss of tempo. For the same cost I can geta krenko, which if it survives one turn (or gets haste) makes the bolt calculation much more favourable- in that it dies but I still get tokens, as I would for SCG at 5.
The hellrider gets an effect of damage in on the turn it comes in only if the men attack with it on the table
Being a goblin directly relates to the pump effect off the playable lord (i.e not the goblin king- which should not make the list), and to cavern of souls.

I really like Warchief in my builds too. He makes for a beefier Goblins deck. Against Soul Sisters and Martyr Proc you might also like Sulfur Elemental. He also helps in token matchups.
They pretty much can't play creatures with him out there unless he's removed or they have an Honor of the Pure first. Additionally, Split Second means they can't respond to him being cast by sacrificing Martyr of Sands. If they want to be cute and get extra value from blocking with her, it'll hurt them.
I play RG Tron and Goblins, and I tested my Goblin deck with and without Hellrider and I think that by the time he is relevant (4th turn) I would rather have a Goblin Grenade or a path to exile on my hand just to either kill the opponent or push the creatures
I have trough and get to the opponent. My main problem with my Goblin deck is after turn 5 +/-...the deck starts do lose momentum and I lost my chance to grab the win...
on this note let me tell you that I rely a bit on Goblin Wardriver and Warren Instigator to pack some extra damage by having just a couple of each on the MB and inevitably a couple Krenko, Mob Boss. I found its synergy with thegoblin chieftain and the Goblin Bushwhacker priceless because regardless of dying to a bolt it still packs a punch.
side note: mana wise I got to play a little on the heavy side because at my local meta SoulSister and Martyr Proc is overwhelmingly present, also I have to rely on boarding leyline of punishment
siege gang commander and krenko increase the durability a lot. i have not found the instigator to be worth it, but I love the wardriver- especially with bushwackers.
Why use path to exile, btw? Is it just for martyr making big early ascendants? Surely dismember from the board allows a mono color approach, making room for mutavault or other utility lands- against every deck other than martyr.
In this format I don't want to path anything in a fast-ish deck if i can play red and use dismember from the board for >3 toughness. Dismember deals with most men that bolt doesn't - eg restoration angel.
wurmcoils tend to be too late in tron/4 color, and the old bolt your own dude when they block with him often allows lethal (as does siege gang sacrifice).
If I play card like siege gang I don't even mind too much about finks.
Twin tricks can be a pain, but again dismember (or combust from the board) can deal with them.
Affinity's masters are troublesome, but we can hate out the deck really well, and I would rather do that than include path. if we are on the front foot they can struggle.
More anti martyr tech includes everlasting torment and torpor orb- ht elatter is good vs twin too.

Stigma Lasher is also a good card I forgot about. In any case, Torpor Orb isn't too great. I can see it being used, but turning off your own Goblin Bushwhackers and Foundry Street Denizens for it generally makes it less desirable.
Yep, Vial Goblins :). I like the SSG touch too, can make some Condescends/Mana Leaks look silly. I also like Warren Instigator for the MUs with lots of burn/removal involved. These are pretty hard.
I've been playing Channelfireball's build - no Grenades, no Bolts, lots of Dragon Fodder and Krenko's Command, which have a lot of synergy with Foundry Street Denizen and Legion Loyalist - but I miss at least a couple of Grenades to finish things.
I thought I would try something other than my Lead the stampede version of the deck and took a run of the mill goblin deck (a hybrid between SCG deck and the winner everyone is talking about) to a tournament last week and went 2-2 with it.
Match 1 against Boggle 1-2
I win by a landslide game 1
severe mana screw game 2
severe mana screw game 3
Match 2 against American Delver 2-0
game 1 I was able to keep up with his removal and just beat him to death with 1/1 tokens
game 2 was very close and the game was won with a well timed skull crack in combination with a goblin grenade
Match 3 against Geist of Saint Win 0-2
game 1 he was just able to kill everything and land a geist after I was topdecking - slight mana flooding
game 2 he won by a landslide post SB with 2x Timely Reinforcements, a crap-ton of removal, and a Baneslayer Angel.
Match 4 my opponent dropped.
All in all I was not very happy with the deck - it can be explosive but I felt like I was holding a glass cannon all night. I don't think this will be a long-standing deck until more support is printed for the archetype - especially with all of the removal I experienced in my metagame. A lot of decks are infinitely better than us post SB. I have decided to switch my efforts towards a modern version of "the gate" for now

this is the main reason why I don't have lots of one drops because if you don't have the right hand or if you draw just a couple lands the deck becomes inconsistent and weak around turn 4.
I rely on Goblin Grenade as a finisher... I also tried bowbeat and I know I will be mocked and flamed by this but I've experienced that I can give lots of dmg the first 3/4 turns and by the 4th/5th I can usually EITHER Goblin Grenade the opponent OR browbeat (he has to let me draw or die) to search for the Goblin Grenade or Bolt to finish him off either way..
I don't have any splash on my current Goblin deck, its just plain RED I was just supposing that it would probably be better, but you're right I could always manage most creatures with the help of dismember and by doing this I would just leave the color splash alone (I have been considering black for some time)
I will post my list here soon (i'm working now currently on break) so you guys can give me some insight on what I can/should change around.
wasn't there a black goblin in lorwyn block that you could prowl in for 3 to search there library and nick 3 cards from the library?- could be a board option if it were 4 cards.......I think g2 dismember is enough, but black gives board options like slaughter games, + maybe discard......
I am wondering if flames of the blood hand is better than skullcrack- I want to use it as anti lifegain- leaving 2 mana open seems better and quicker vs martyr.
Am also wondering about everlasting torment vs leyline.
Again cavern of souls seems like a good land in this deck.Still can't get my head around the 22 mountain lists.......surely cavern allows 4 scg to be played without fear?
No one I have noticed iis using ruinblaster- but i have found as a board card with 4 molten rain it gives a different approach g2 if needed, at the expense of space

Why didnt u think about splashing white for thalia?
I think she makes your combo and control or basically geist of st.win mu much better.
That would be no synergy with the goblin lord, krenko, or in this case warren instigator- and the fetchlands increase self inflicted pain (worse vs rg zoo aggro, mirror).
Goblins will never have a great combo match- but it has board options on color- torpor orb for twin/combust on color, relic for eggs/reanimator on color too, and skite for bug infect, boggle and similar.
Geist and control are never that bad matches anyway - if you build the deck to work better over the longer match. Every krenko or scg needs answering quickly. The ruinblasters I mentioned above are great against control from the board- t4 ruinblaster via cavern of souls is really nasty after a 1, 2 and 3 drop- even if they answered a couple of them.
Its white lifegain thats really hard. I would be more worried about tokens than control- and gw hatebears with its baneslayers- and perhaps rg tron with its cheap pyroclasm sweepers , although thats a matter of knowing when to overextend.

Hello all. I'm writing this on behalf of a friend on mine who doesn't speak English.
He is looking for some advice on a budget Goblins deck. This is not for competitive play at all, just for casual among friends.
Could you please suggest a budget yet viable decklist?
Thank you in advance.

I think Pyrewild Shaman will find a nice home with this deck. I wouldn't over do it, but it should be a good way to end Goyf standoffs and enhance the endgame.

Rakdos Charm, Earwig Squad, Thoughtseize, Goblin Deathraiders, Knucklebone Witch, Mad Auntie, Warren Weirding
Probably only the first 3 really justify the color, but the rest seem justifiable in one build/sideboard or another
Earwig squad is a nice card in an goblin deck. Together with Mad Auntie.
