Scion is very low-impact depending on your boardstate, and often enough your bitterblossom tokens are going to get there in most cases except in the case of other flyers. Scion doesnt look good on an empty board, and his effectiveness is lackluster due to the nature of our 'play from the backfoot' play patterns. Snapcaster however does depend on the right instant being in your graveyard at the right time, and has no real other benefits- but for now he's the best we've got (which is still pretty good). Scion by itself is a 1/1 for 3 that counters removal (which spellstutter sprite already does for us, outside of abrupt decay). Most times I would rather have snapcaster since there isnt a faerie that really fills out the deck well. I think the only case for scion is lingering souls, but Id go as far as saying Id rather test plague mare since it wipes most of the mardu pyromancer boardstate
Decks I have in my bag of tricks- Needless to say, someone who wants to play will probably have a deck UB/x Faeries UR Storm XURWB Affinity G Elves UW control
The biggest reason is that sideboard space is at a premium, and I've been looking at other cards that help shore up my deck against aggro, which is what I struggle against most often. Ashiok does great work against hollow one and humans, but like you said, staring down elves, ETron, and even merfolk, it's no use. I also haven't had the chance to square off against mardu pyromancer, but my first instinct is that Ashiok isn't much help there either. So I've been looking for other options, although come late fall if Humans is still going strong he might stay put.

I beat Elves, Infect and Junk Unburial Rites. I lost to "Eldrazi and Taxes". I really liked the list, but I'll likely make a few changes. Azcantas should be Snapcaster Mages, and I'd like another removal spell in the sideboard, probably another Cast Down.
I ran this list again at FNM tonight at a different shop. I finished 4-0 for 1st place beating Jeskai Aggro, UW Miracles, Bant Control and "Eldrazi and Taxes". I was surprised to see another Eldrazi and Taxes two weeks in a row as I'd never played against the deck before the last two FNMs. I got to Clique an Entreat while the miracle trigger was on the stack, which was pretty sweet. I caught another opponent with mutavault/spellstutter shenanigans. Creeping Tar Pits were amazing, Tasigur bailed me out of two games. Azcanta was good because of the control matchups. Such a fun deck!

Congrats on the wins! I wish the meta at my LGS was more like yours, lol. Here I face Gx Tron, Hollow One, Affinity, and Humans on a regular basis. That being said, Faeries can adapt fairly well, although Affinity still gives me fits. Nothing sweeter than hitting a HR during their end step though, lol.
I got to Clique an Entreat while the miracle trigger was on the stack, which was pretty sweet.
Can you explain this interaction? I assume you mean mistbind clique when you say clique. But I don't really know how miracle triggers work. It sounds to me that when your opponent reveals entreat, you respond to tap their mana, that they can in respond tap all their mana and still cast the entreat the angels, since they can do that in their draw step (correct?).
I think he's referring to Vendilion Clique, since when the miracle trigger is on the stack the card itself is still in the opponent's hand. Mistbind would be a way worse play, as you've pointed out.
How do you guys feel about 2 Shadow of doubt in the deck?
Thoughts on maybe having it MB or SB?
Your local meta would have to be something crazy to have that in the MB. It's a good effect, but only really worth using against decks that rely on a lot of fetchlands and/or searching for cards. Feels great to null fetches for what it's worth.
Match 1 vs Goblin Storm :: 2-1
I want to say that this deck was very surprising and looked to be tons of fun to play. While inconsistent, it could just need a few changes to turn it into a solid deck.
Storm usually isn't an issue due to how much hand disruption faeries has but the first game I conceded on turn three when he got a storm count to 5 and played empty the warrens and I was unable to do anything about it.
Sideboard I brought in both thoughtseizes and the surgical, taking out murderous cut, a mistbind, and jace.
Game 2 opening hand consisted of a spell stutter, an inquesition, a collective, two lands, a bitterblossom, and a mistbind. i opened with an Inquisition and took his morphose leaving a prospector, warrens, and two mogg war marshals. Turn two i drew a second blossom and pitched it to collective to kill his turn one prospector and take the warrens out of his hand. by turn 5 he had drawn a good few cards off of fecundity but I stopped any actual storm from building up to a lethal level and eventually beat him down with blossom tokens.
Game 3 went similar to game 2. Turn 2 blossom, Turn 3 vendilion to take his warrens and then start beating at him. surprisingly, he drew nearly half his deck off of a double fecundity but wasn't able to find a warrens, he was able to find a goblin chainwhirler though and whipped my board, but that let me draw 8 cards off the double fecundity and I easily stabilized with a mistbind on his next upkeep and had dealt enough at that point for lethal.
Match 2 vs Humans :: 0-2
Opening hand for game one was a bitterblossom, a push, a spell stutter, an opt, and 3 lands.
Game one was pretty cut and dry for humans, turn one vial and pass. I drew a land, played a darkslick and passed back. He played a thalia and passed. I played a swamp and fatal pushed the thalia to get it off the field, he vialed in a champion on my end step and then played a freebooter to take my blossom and hit me with the champ. Turn three drew another land and played a land and passed. He played another thalia and hit me again, after i drew another land i conceded and went to game 2.
Game two I mulliganed a 5 lander to 6, an inquisition, two spell stutters, Liliana, and two lands. Scryed threads and kept it on top. He played turn on vial and i played a turn one inquisition, it was a pretty deadly opening for him, with Thalia, freebooter, meddling mage, and phantasm. i opted for the meddling mage so he couldn't keep me off of cryptics or blossoms but I really should have taken the freebooter in hindsight. he vialed in a champion and then took my Liliana with the freebooter. Turn two for me consisted of land for turn and passing. Turn two for him was a phantasmal copying freebooter and taking my threads after I flashed my stutter in response to the trigger. he then vialed in Thalia and hit me hard with the champ. At this point i saw no way to win and conceded.
Match 3 vs 8Wack :: 0-2
Both games played out similarly, opponent established a very quick board state and started beating down faster than I could control.
First game he opened on the draw with goblin guide which i fatal pushed in response to the trigger and took the land revealed. Though I managed to establish a small board after that he was able to push through with pile drivers and bushwhackers pumping his tokens from war marshal.
side board i took out jace and both mana leaks. Bringing in both damnations and an ashiok.
The second game however I managed to empty is board and hand except a land late game with 3 health left and cast mist bind on his upkeep, tragically and fittingly he top decked lightning bolt and played the land he had in hand for a while to kill me.
I don't think I made any real misplays either of those games, rather I just couldn't find time to stabilize against the onslaught of goblins.
Game 4 vs Hollow One :: 2-1
Game one was pretty long, started out with countering both his burning inquiries on turns two and three (he played a tapped land turn one)using spell stutters and fatal pushing his flameblade adept. after that i slowly beat him with the two spell stutters and kept his discard spells down with counters and hand removal.
Side board i brought in liliana's defeat, a thoughtseize, and two ashioks, taking out a fatal push, lili, and 2 opts.
Game two opening hand mulled to 6 into a thoughtseize, two ashioks, and 3 lands scrying one more land to the bottom. I took a blood moon turn one with thoughtseize and landed a turn 3 ashiok and began milling mostly lands and looters. I wasn't able to draw into any major threats on my side and he eventually landed double anlger and pushed through.
Game three I got another turn 3 ashiok and managed to hit most of his creatures, countered his blood moon on turn 5 and eventually ultimated ashiok and killed him with a snapcaster I had played just to have a board presence since it was open.
I think i made a few misplays over the course of the day, most of which were readily apparent to me after the fact but other than that enjoyed the way the deck worked out.
I actually edited the list before playing, adding an additional ashiok to the sideboard and moving lili to the main, after that I removed two scions from the deck and added a mistbind to the main.
and before anyone asks about the sunken hollow it's simply because i don't have another watery grave at the moment and it does sometimes come down untapped. Though i plan on taking it out for another grave and swapping a tar pit with an island.

The first shop I went to is doing Modern again this week so I'll be back on Faeries. That store has quite a bit more aggro than the other place. I'll let you know how it goes :).
BTW, Spell Pierce is a great way to slam the brakes on a lot of stuff. This includes:
-tron turn three Karn
-storm trying to slam Gifts Ungiven or Past in Flames
-Control decks trying to hit Teferi
-Miracles trying to do anything, lol
Hey Just a couple of quick questions, When running 4 bitterblossoms do you find thats a little overboard at times? because this is a mid range deck I feel like I am constantly picking up multiple even when I am only running three. I like the fact that your running Jace and Liliana, do you feel like they are vital to the deck? lastly thanks for the post Im new here currently I am spending alot of time on my Tezzerator build I am also messing around with faeries and am following whats going on here to keep up with whats new.
People have tried azcanta and honestly even from a theory perspective azcanta is going to slow the deck down further as well as impulse you past important creatures after it transforms. If you are going for control faeries thats a different story, but faeries is a strategy that is dependant upon applying pressure, and inconsistent creature presence is not where we want to be

This deck doesnt flood very often. We have access to 7-8 manlands to pressure the opponent with. Serum Visions is what I was using to dig for some time now, but it can be just as big a strategic speedbump as azcanta, so I just forego the card draw or cantrips since they arent on bodies on the board or useful to stay alive like cryptic. My philosophy has been that drawpower in modern is too slow to really keep up with the format (ponder or preordain would be nice imo), but some of the discord faeries players use opt.

I use Opt in my build and it works out well most of the time. Even when it whiffs, I never feel bad playing it, that instant speed makes a big difference. I'll also say that for certain aggro matchups, Bontu's Last Reckoning can really turn the tide. I get a lot of wtf looks when people see that in my sideboard, but it's worked great for me. Reality Shift is another great piece of tech that works great against decks that like having hard to deal with threats. I started using it when Hollow One got real popular at my LGS, but it also does good work against Eldrazi Tron, Dredge, and Deaths Shadow.
You should test the new removal spell infernal reckoning for those colorless based matchups over reality shift

Yeah, that is definitely a strict upgrade for the most part. I do like the shenanigans Reality Shift can pull sometimes. It is hilarious against Tron when they manifest Karn or Ugin.
hello,
1)do you feel that dampening sphere is good enough in the SB? I've never included them, since the storm matchup is good and I believe ceremonius rejection is more important to have in the sideboard then the spheres.
2) I don't think adding search for azcanta is that good. You already have enchantments on turn 2 and they are way superior I believe. Also you kinda want to draw some creatures/finishers with faeries and search for azcanta can't get those.
3) thinking about adding 1 infernal reckoning to my SB too.
4) Sword of fire and ice in the maindeck? I have one sword of light and shadow in the sideboard too. Where I think this card is great because you replenish the life you lose Bitterblossom, also getting a creature back each turn (you can use your snapcasters/spellstutters each turn to chumpblock something which feels just as good as drawing a card).
5) I agree with having 4 bitterblossoms in the maindeck, collective brutality is a good way of getting rid of multiples (so is mistbind clique). Turn 2 bitterblossom against a control deck is just funny.
6) I really like the liliana's maindeck. Sure there are a lot of decks that they get sideboarded out. But they are the best removal spells against creature swarm decks. And since there are no damnations maindeck I really need them against elves and abzan company decks and such. They never feel completely useless since they rebuy your counterspells/snapcasters
7) I'm a big fan of 1 nimble obstructionist in the sideboard if you keep having trouble against tron. The versatility of the card is great. Can keep opponent of tron with expedition map, ignores the trigger from oblivion stone, is a 3/1 beater when you want to go aggro on them instead.
I'll address each point, and good post!
1) Absolutely worth having sphere in the SB. Faeries is disruptive enough to make use of how much sphere delays tron and storm.
2) I'm not a fan of Search in this deck either, Unless you're going for a Tasigur/Angler finish, you're better off without it.
3) Infernal Reckoning definitely looks like the real deal for dealing with colorless threats.
4) I actually run Sword of War and Peace alongside Feast and Famine in my main. Fire and Ice is also pretty good, it gives the deck two angles that it can put to good use.
5) I agree with your reasoning on having four BB in the deck.
6) LotV and/or LtLH are both great in the main, they do a lot for you in a lot of matchups. I like having Ashiok in the SB for certain matchups, specifically humans.
7) Nimble is great, but the times are few and far between when you'll be able to use it against an Expedition Map. You'd more likely use it to stop an Ulamog trigger, Valakut trigger, or something along those lines.
Add mistbind clique in the main. Its a serious clock that you'll want to have going forward. None are needed sb these days
