@Darkest_before_dawn Not counting your LGS meta, I would definitely recommend UG over GB in general. UG is just more consistent. I don’t know of any streamers though, sorry.
@bobmtg i think they are a choice, i’m not sure what we can afford to cut to accomodate both. Finks is required to shore up burn and is decent vs removal decks, stalker is decent vs burn and amazing vs removal decks. They can come in for the same things but are better against one than the other.
As for which one to play, depends on which one you are expecting! Midrange or burn? In a blind field midrange is actually many decks and so you prepare for a larger % of the field by choosing stalkers. In this meta in particular, mardu pyromancer, jeskai, and jund are all popular so its a safe bet stalkers will be used in some games against one of those. In addition, burn is an atrocious matchup that gets worse the better the burn player is- finks definitely helps but not enough to make it even or favorable, whereas stalkers i would say push midrange matchups post-board to even or favorable.
Final note: it’s still very meta dependent! Burn & Jund were the top 2 for Minneapolis, they are obviously both being played at a high level. Researching your local meta and speculating based on that data should give you a reasonable glimpse of what to expect and you should choose accordingly. Hope this helps!
That is pretty counter intuitive. You board in a non infect creature. So now you need to deal 20 damage I stead of 10. And then you board out mutagenic growth?
What are Invisible Stalkers for? Are they actually for a semi transformative sideboard to fight decks like Jeskai Control? Why not something like Geist of Saint Traft?
Well one lower CMC and they are unblockable which is nice. Where geist might do more damage. But dies easily to blockers and you have to splash white. (Those are my guess why stalker over geist. But I'm not sure at all!)
There isn't a card newer than Blossoming Defense in this list. What's new is the Geist SB strategy. It's great against UW; they can't touch it with their spot removal, and it kills them fast enough even without pump spells.
RIP kills Become Immense. That's why the grave hate of choice is Cage.
As for Stony Silence I guess he just didn't feel the need to push artifact deck matchups that much in his favor. He's already got 5 artifact removal SB. Few people play regular Affinity and Lantern now, and KCI and Tron are good matchups.
The 4 claim and 2 corrupter sounds right if you expect a lot of harden scales affinity. Balista sucks, even more so with extra counters on it, and they can chump block for days.
What do people think of Maximize Altitude? I know we use Distortion Strike currently, the Jump Start is interesting tho and there is a toughness boost as well.
Maximize altitude doesn't seem very good. We don't really care about the toughness boost on a sorcery, and unblockable is much better than flying. Colonnade, lingering souls, clique, blink/inkmoths still block flying dudes. Distortion strike is much much better, and I'd play artful dodge before this one.
How does everyone feel about assure that was just spoiled. G/W G/W for a +1/+1 counter and indestructible. I like that it is a permanent boost, but the cost is a little high for only indestructible. My opinion is it's pretty meh, especially with U/W being a pretty high played deck where indestructible doesn't stop their Paths.
Not sure now I feel about the heavy white splash for Infect in sideboard. Yes, Geist of Saint Traft is amazing but having 4 in sideboard is a bit much heavily relying on the white mana from Noble Hierarch and the one Temple Garden is super greedy. Infect is a lot more synergistic for just being green blue.
How do you all feel about Invisible Stalker atm? I have 4 in my Sb but rarely board it as of late. Having looked at the latest lists it seems like it's correct to cut the card. I'm assuming this is due to the decline of Mardu Pyromancer midrange in general?

Nice to see this deck make an appearance again. I've been working on my infect game for a bit now and am strongly considering it for GP Oakland in Jan 2019. If the format continues along the axis of linear decks, Infect is a fantastic choice.
