Apologize for the delay, haven't been checking here as often, been busy the last week or so and modern season is dead so I haven't been playing or brewing much lately. Although I may put this deck together..I like it better, has less of a reliance on good draws, which is where I was getting constantly screwed at the PTQs. All I need are KoTR and Lotus Cobras...as well as Thundermaws because I traded mine in for legacy stuff since they're at 35...so I may be waiting until after rotation to buy some (unless they reprint in which case, price should go down a bit anyways)
"He plays in a walk in humidor so keep his foils from bending. He once kept an all land hand just to know what it felt like to be mana flooded. He uses power nine for ante. He is the most interesting magic playing in the world." Old man, "I don't always tap basic lands for mana, but when i do, I tap Gurus."
Any thought of having Magus of the Moon main deck or sideboard instead of blood moon. Creature a better for domri +1 ability.
Magus of the Moon allows them to draw an out at any point down the road.
Blood Moon makes them have an instead speed answer they can float mana for or they get 'Geddon'ed.

It's even more problematic when Magus of the Moon dies to probably the most common removal spell in Modern, Lightning Bolt. That card also happens to be castable with Mountains only.
Also dying to Dismember (a removal spell more commonly found in black, white, or even blue decks that is castable with red mana only) doesn't help.
I've been looking into modern zoo, and have been thinking about a somewhat non-traditional build, specifically the inclusion of silverblade paladin. Here's my rough draft:
With 8 one-drops and 12 two-drops, any opening hand with BTE should result in 3 dudes on the table by turn 2. If one of them is mauler, you're looking at either swinging for 6 on turn 2 or setting up a hasted paladin to swing for a ton on turn 3. Paladin and rancor make for ridiculous damage possibilities, and boros charm serves as sweeper protection since this deck wants to vomit out it's hand as quickly as possible. I know double-white is tough, but it doesn't seem insurmountable. Seems like the paladin would be unexpected enough to take some people by surprise, too. Obviously for those with the $$$, goyf should replace flinthoof boar.
I built this deck, but I need some help with what to board in and out against certain matchups that run rampant in my local meta. Could someone help with board against American Angels (1x Baneslayer, Restoration Angels, Helix, Bolt, etc), Goblins, Burn, and some random Argentum Armor Quest decks. Thanks!

If you're having trouble with decks that are packing a lot of X/4+ creature you need your 4th path and a Dismember or 2 in your board. And against American Angels, specifically, Batterskull is wonderful. They don't pack an answer to it. And, you'll want to maybe equip it to a creature you control. I'd also board in Sword of LaS. Protection from Path to Exile and BSA is huge. You could easily just overwhelm them, by connecting with a Batterskulled/Sworded Smiter,Goyf,or KotR.
Against Quest decks, save Path mana and bring in your Pridemage
Hello, may I just ask you about some improvements? I for example play something like that just no bloodmoon (+1 pte) and no Marsh Flats ( + 1 Hellkite) but I must admit that my lands are killing me pretty hard.. I know that I play Deathrite shamans but every enemy shoot them first and kithen finks.. but do you know any improvements ? For example i Heard of Batterskull and so on..
I started off running your build, Lantern. I noticed that the best cards in every hand were the burn spells. So I put in Vexing Devil! It works exactly as I want it to. Given that Devil reduces my chances of having a critter on board when I need it, Elspeth is less good, so she became another Ajani.
Awesome report. At any point would you have rather just done more gruul Zoo for consistant speed of things? I myself run a naya version, and found that it gives me reliable speed of gruul (turn slower) but more gas and longer range creatures/options.
I feel like White is fairly necessary. It gives you resistance to all the things that stymie Gruul the most.
Loxodon Hierarch punches through countermagic and discard. Boros Charm beats sweepers and (usually) planeswalkers and is extra reach. Path to Exile hits oversized critters (pretty much anything with toughness greater than 3) or things that you don't want going to the graveyard (Wurmcoil). Thalia hurts many combo and control decks. Stony Silence is lovely against Affinity.
The idea of not playing white is kinda absurd, in my opinion.
Lightning helix is probably worth a look at in there, as well as path. And I think in your list, dryad militant is probably better then experimental one. Its always a 2/1, but with wilt leaf out its a 4/3.
If a mod is asking for it, must be ok
