Vivien might be useful. Flashing our creatures and having a choice on which creatures to “draw” is something. Making opponents wonder what is coming out makes them question their plays. This all for lead the stampede mana makes me wonder for sure.
played on a modern event with 177players last sunday. I reached rank 12 and 2 other elf players in top 8.
(might be up in a few days in mtgtop8, location Dülmen)
I played 6:2 and only lost to mirror (haha) and Humans.
My list is pretty standard bg. The human matchup is for me a dice roll race. Don't know what I'm missing since everywhere it seems its favoured. I think I was very unlucky. But I lost to him in an FNM before. SB plan was -2 leads, -2 Ooze +2 dismember +2 trophies

@kysg why you're asking this? in GB aggro elves it's the best card in the deck.
In a combosih beast whisperer storm it's not great tbh, but I would say GB elves is better although the combo elf player mate I met at that tournament hasn't that opinion.

He didn't quote, but he was talking to Retswerd, who spoke about cutting collected company from the list.
Personally I feel cutting Coco is a mistake. There isn't a version of elves without the card that will give you overall game against the meta. It's a very solid plan A. If a deck needs to compromise its own plan A, it simply means the deck itself is not viable in a meta. It's like trying to play Storm in a Humans meta - you can maindeck removals, but the whole plan A is now compromised.
I believe elves still have a foothold in the meta. Between the resilience and consistent damage from GB and the toolbox and surprise wins from GW, there should be a place for elves in most metas.

I went 3-0 for the first time in ages running GB Elves at my LGS last weekend, managing to take down the best Rock player at the store too, so I'd agree that Elves is still a decent pick. That being said, I dodged both Mono-Red Phoenix and Tron so results may vary haha.

I never fully switched to the GB plan even after clancaller was printed. With my combo finish I didn't real the impact of Titi since I would just end the game out of nowhere with a well timed chord when the opponent tapped low or out. Being able to chord for ethersworn canonist is real, too.

I am the guy on Sultai. My only record that is worth noting is a top 8 on a mid sized event here in Japan. I really love the list (still), but it suffers from the saturated lightning bolt market we have now.
Just to note about the Sultai list, but the touch blue works primarily because of Phantasmal Image, not Nissas. Phantasmal copying Shamans was the reason why I created the list. The full list is in the link below, if the link still works.
This is my current decklist. for a heavy control meta. I have found out that diversifying the amount of threats i put on the battlefield is good. Westvale abbey is great and has won me games that i have no business winning (Valakut for one). The land is also great at grinding against control and GB decks.
i was trying for a while in the right configuration of value cards that the deck needs to have. i tested 2 lead on main 2 on sideboard, 2 lead 2 shaper's sanctuary, but it was not enough. Shaper's is good against GB midrange decks and mardu, the matchups we often struggle. But i've decided to add 2 more cards to the mix, 1 being a creature. a third lead in the main is a bomb and wins games against heavy removal decks, and the eternal witness it's just pure value, returning a coCo in hand or a Shaman of the pack to finish the game is soo good.

Finale of Devastation. It’s a fixed version of Green Sun’s. No more turn 1 ramp, but it is 1 green mana “cheaper” than Chord. I don’t know if it is worth it, but certainly worth a try. The x=10 clause may be relevant in some games. But, ultimately, it is a turn 2 x=1 at fastest, so I don’t know if it is worth it. One tempo slow, is my guess, although it is one turn faster than chord.
Being sorcery does hurt though. It might be better in WG combo elves? It seems like it is half a turn faster. You can combo off turn three fairly consistently.
EDIT:
Wait a minute. Why does it say “and/or”? Does this mean what I think it means? Is this the busted card that Elves has been looking for?
EDIT:
Upon further research, it seems we only get 1 creature out of the deal. It becomes, suddenly, a worse Green Sun’s.
The sorcery speed and not being able to convoke make it worse than the current option. i thought about how it might just tutor for 0 and get ballista on the battlefield but if you don't also play hardened scales, it won't work. On the other hand if you have infinite mana and want a powerful X-spell, you're simply cast genesis wave and kill with all your shaman triggers.

Man, I came here to see if anyone else had noticed Finale of Devastation, and I see y’all have, though no one seems excited about it. I was under the impression that the ability to search both the GY or the deck, coupled with the possibility of a Craterhoof type effect (with haste instead of trample) would make it at least comparable to Chord; exchanging the speed and convoke of one for the possible finishing ability of the other.

One of the things I love about Chord is that I can cast in my opponent's upkeep if he's playing counterspells and leaving mana up. The instant speed aspect of Chord is really effective. Also, the reason to play a "creature grabber" is that you accelerate your damage, imo. If you got wrathed, for example, returning an Ezuri or an Archdruid from you graveyard doesn't seem all that relevant then. I believe you play Finale of Devastation not for the graveyard thing, nor for the 10 plus thing, but for the Chord effect. But Chord seems a better choice. I might be wrong, of course. Maybe against target removal decks, which you are more likely to play against, the graveyard effect becomes more relevant, since you recover the key creature they killed with Fatal Push or something.
By the way, nice avatar, @Piney_Tinecones. I love Meddle. Echoes is my favorite Pink Floyd piece

I tried Elves at a 29 person FNM for the first time in a while.
Round 1 vs. Amulet. I spammed too many Elves, going off with triple Nettle Sentinel, Heritage Druid, and Coco + Lead the Stampede. He scoops on his turn 3. I had enough blockers to chump block a 10/6 double strike Titan if needed, enough mana to pay 2GG for a Summoner's Pact off Hive Mind, but not enough to survive a potential TWO double Striking 8/6 Titans. In the next game, he had Engineered Explosives on 1, so I got Dwynen's Elite and Elvish Archdruid on turn 2. Then I played the Damping Sphere I had been saving, so he had to Summoner's Pact for Reclamation Sage to bust it. He got double Amulet, but he couldn't find Titan and I ran him over. 2-0.
Round 2 vs. Burn. He put a big clock on me, but missed his 3rd land drop. I Company into Lord and Shaman of the Pack, allowing me to attack with most creatures. He declined blocking with his Eidolon of the Great Revel, so he was locked out from killing me (I had blockers and 2 burn spells with Eidolon in play kill HIM). In the next game, he does Monastery Swiftspear into Searing Blaze on my Essence Warden, but he misses burn for 4 turns, while I find a 3rd land to CoCo with Elf in play. I find double Dwynen's Elite, so I block all 4 of his creatures, with my Shaman of the Pack and Llanowar Elf living. He is at 4, so he dies on the swingback with 1 card in hand. Just poor draws by him near the end. 2-0.
Round 3 vs. Dredge. I am on the play, so I get too much going before he can get off the ground. Ezuri makes my guys big enough to swing for 21 damage. In the next game, I turn 3 do Westvale Abbey, flipping into the Ormendahl, Profane Prince. On his turn 2, I also used Surgical Extraction on his Bloodghast to not allow a Prized Amalgam trigger too. Super good draws vs. this deck! 2-0.
Round 4 vs. Little Kid Abzan Hate Bears. We ID'd 0-0-3, but played for fun. In the first game, I play too many dudes and he scoops, knowing there's no way around this. The next game is similar, but I was mana restricted, so he got me to 9 to 27 before I was able to do 31 damage to him on the same turn for exactly lethal. Good matchup for this deck. 2-0.
I went 3-0-1. Not too upset about IDing the final round since I know the guy.

Well, that's kinda unexpected. On MTGO I play friendly tournaments with a Mono Green beatdown version with more lords and no CoCos and Heritage Druids and the result is almost always like 50/50 in the end. Maybe you don't have experience with the deck yet, or you're running out of luck. Can you please share the list you're running?
Could you tell me more about this Mono Green beatdown version? Been looking at throwing together a super budget version just to enjoy some Elves and that sounds like it may fill the role nicely without CoCo and Heritage Druid along with being easy to upgrade should I ever want to.
Anyone thought anything about Vivien's Arkbow? Seem's like recursive searches that can turn extra lands or dorks into bigger things. Not sure if there's room, though.
