Haven't posted here for a bit. Been continuing to play Humans off and on. I've got a couple months in with Wingcrafter now, I've been playing 1-2 in the mainboard (made room by cutting a Militia Bugler and something else), and I have to say it has continued to impress.
What are peoples thoughts on Bugler lately? I've been thinking about going back to big Thalia.
Not surprised to see a Humans list try to go Bant, since most of the creatures are in those colors and it gives you access to quality sideboard cards. What I am surprised to see is no Knight of the Reliquary. The deck will be in the market for another beater, given it will not have access to Mantis Rider, and KotR + the fetches you have to run for a real 3c deck anyway seem like a good fit. It also gives you a nice versatility boost in that you can play tech like Bojuka Bog and Gavony Township. Without KotR, the deck seems a bit overly reliant on Champ and Lieutenant to get its damage done, and while potent, I don't think the deck will be as good at closing out games with those two alone.
I'd also want to see both Thalias somewhere in the 75. Thalia, Guardian of Thraben is one of Humans' competitive advantages as far as I'm concerned. Maybe you have to bump her to the SB because of the presence of Collected Company in the main, but she should still be played. Bant Spirits plays her, and she's not even a Spirit. Thalia, Heretic Cathar is a bit more of a pet card, but the deck as presented is a bit light on disruption. Lastly, while I have reaped the benefits of Spell Queller many a time, I am not confident in that 75's ability to protect it. It might have worked for that league, but I'm skeptical about its long-term prospects.

Card is bad if not built around somehow. It's been tested and sent on the bench everytime in this thread. Overall the card is not great in Modern.
I'd rather play Lyev Skyknight as a flying finisher if red is not possible, which I doubt.
This list made a 5-0 finish in a comp. modern league - what do you think?
First, Spirits add Ref Mage and Thalia in their lists, now Humans add Quellers... Why not.
Single Pilgrim and Inspector are jokes though. Main deck wants to be as lean as possible, those one-drops have been tested to very little success (Spirits don't play extra dorks because of Coco btw, would would we here ?). Tracker belongs in other archetypes. It's worse than Mantis in what is supposed to be an aggro deck.
On paper it seems worse than either Humans or Spirits, but the idea had to pop up eventually.

I believe you when you say that Knight is not great when not built around. Still, the fact remains that the Bant version of the deck needs a 3rd beater, preferably an evasive one. Lyev Skyknight looks a bit fragile for my taste on that front - what else is out there?
Curiously, I managed to beat Humans with a janky combo-deck brewed from GW hatebears last Friday. In one game, Hushwing Gryff out of the board just shut him down. Humans can also be very vulnerable to land hate. It also turns out that turn-two Loxodon Smiters backed up with Exalted are pretty good. Granted, these aren't cards one is likely to see often.
Actually, two cards have been spoiled today which potentially could fit the Humans deck.
The azorius one hoses a lot of strategies, the rakdos one can loot and has an alternative casting cost we CAN actually use to refill the hand to potentially net 2 cards + body. Good times up ahead.
Agreed regarding the azorius, strange my post edit: “improves our Tron and Storm matchup” didn’t appear. I’m not convinced with Rakdos one... the main benefit is the spectacle cost and we aren’t really able to achieve that with our manabase. You seeing it as a potential fit, just for the single card draw?

Spectacle is an alternative casting cost for which we have 12 out of 19 sources of mana we can use to pay it. It's a grindy card.
On another note. Lavinia, Azorius Renegade takes care of a lot of problem cards like: Karn, Ugin, all is Dust, Ostone, Conflagrate. Chord of Calling and more.
When i think of it, it's everything i use Gaddock Teeg for, on a human

Hollow One with no mana spent will be countered by the second ability.
Delve threats are creatures, so they're not affected by the first ability.
Humans have unfavorable MUs against Coco decks, Tron, but I have no clue about Pact decks (Ad Naus, Amulet), but I assume it's easy to lose to these decks. It's always good to prevent Dredge from Conf'ing us. To me Lavinia is somewhere around a 2x in the main deck. Maybe belongs in the SB bt also could be the card that takes those flex slots.

Spirits had its short moment. In my opinion Humans are still better than spirits overall
