Why do you want to replace relic? It impedes their graveyard and replaces itself later. It offers another 1 drop in a deck with virtually untapped Mana but very few spells to play on 1.
Is it better than squelch? I think it depends if you are playing squelch as LD or if you are really using it to hit non-land activated abilties. I'd be open to useing it. But it is one of those cards you look at and think.. this is good.. but you can't be sure what to do with it. I haven't tried it but I only just picked them up perhaps I'll try it. It seems really good against GR tron though.
I run tormod's crpyt over relic still you can't ruins relic for reuse and you have to exile your own grave. If it is useless later it becomes thrist fodder.
Hi I just wanted to share my latest build which performed very good, I really dont post much in here... but I have always loved Shooktroopa style with 2 Solemns and 2 talisman, the rest is quite usual.
I started to test the approach when I saw the ideaof River of tears as the best land producing other color which also fits in BTron.
before the 3 EE main were 2Solemn and 1 taisman the 25th and was the 2nd talisman.
Then I started with 2 Reivers and saw they were good and up to 4 in order to make EE a better card
Noticed that i needed more often than not other sweeper and then went up to +4th repeal which is good vs Stony and DeathShadow.
EDIT: Squelch will become Obstruionist soon, has anyone tested it?
In deed I just dont know why i didnt play EE before... I alays played 3 in side maynly for burn, but now that i can cast them for 2 counters - I feel like it is a must in base.
well if any interested to test the list, this is just a conclusion of list which I recently came up with and i believe it is great.
The only slots in side that im not conviced much are Arbiter which before was filigree and otherinstead of repeal, but as said I found repeal a lot of valuable...
I like your SB except its a little weird that 4 contortions and 3 dismembers are all on the SB. I play 4 and 2 myself, but I have 2 Contortions and 1 Dismember main. I would suggest putting some of these in the main deck to free up your sideboard a little and give you some outs game 1 in the matchups where you really need them.
Thoughts on running a Reality Shift in the SB to deal with the big bads that we don't want to return to a hand? Cards like Ulamog. Giving them the manifested card isn't great, but at least it brings the creature down into Spatial range.
I've added 1 to the MB and 1 to the SB to test. Every time it has been in my hand it has been useful. I ended up cutting 1 Remand in the MB. I had really like Squelch but it was too often sitting there waiting to be used IF the stars lined up. The 3/1 flyer at least provides a blocker that often trades if I need to buy time and they aren't working to kill my lands.
Looks like a good budget start. 24 Lands without manarocks and no cantrips like Anticipate might get you in trouble in some situations.
I would upgrade:
Myr Battlesphere => Angle
Turn to Frog => anticipate or some cheap spell
Tomb of the Spirit Dragon => Oboro
in the future same goes for sideboard.
For example skite seems lackluster since infect is not a deck anymore.
Thanks for the feedback.
For cantrips I'm testing out 2 supreme will and so far I think they're great.
I rarely actual want angel and the times I do she dies very fast in this artifact hate meta. I do find that I often want a wider net. So even if battlesphere dies I still have 4 blockers. If I drop another sphere after, its huge damage. Tomb of the spirit dragon works very well with sphere or even ok with wurm/hangerback tokens. Every little bit of life helps in the slow down game.
Can't afford a 4th chalice but I feel the Spellskite does alright. Again with all the removal he's great a wasting my opponets cards.
Turn to frog is an experiment. At worst it buys me a turn of taking big damage. At best it makes great combat trick and or walking balista kills your Ulamog/death shadow or whatever. With a lot of big creatures I like it more than dismember... For now, still testing.
Oboro is not worth $28.00 so F that.
Solemn hands down is a great greed card but ur opponet rarely wants to remove except for the block. Walking balista is interesting because it can become very threatning if left unchecked. So they again waste good removal on him that should have been used on Wurmcoil.
Lol, did anyone else watch Shok mindslaver that Merfolk player for 10 minutes and NOT use spreading seas to dig for dismember/vapor snap? He came back and took the match with only 8 minutes on the back of a couple T3 Tron's.
Making my round since its been a while still without my chalices XD. IS fabricate not being used anymore as last i played a while ago people were play 1 with 2 snapcasters. Also are we back to 2 mindslavers as I remember it being cut back to 1. And where are we at with balista and solemns.

fabricate is still ok..though i think treasure mage is just used a little bit more lately because it can chump block and stall, and that is just very good right now in this creature heavy meta in modern..

Played U tron in the Syracuse classic today. Went 5-3-1... I saw two other U tron players in the tournament too.
My draw was bs one of them...unfortunate cause I was likely going to win. It needed two more turns to close it out with my thought- knot.
Deck felt pretty good in the meta.
R1- D -u tron draw. ^^^
R2 - L- gw hatebears. G1 I didn't draw any lands and g2 no threats.
R3- w - bant eldrazi. Angel won both matches. Spreading seas was champ all day with cavern of souls and man lands
R4 L - UW control. One game I cast thirst FOUR times and couldn't find threats lost to man lands. Won g2. G3 I made a mistake and let him land a new Gideon... slow beats and no bounce effects.
R5 - W - grixis shadow. Flawless victory g1 with Ugin and titan. G2 slaver lock.
R6 - W - mardu control. Lose game one to nahiri ultimate. Crush the rest. Pretty easy match
R7 - L - slivers. Ugh. Caverns and vials. G2 ugin won. G3 I was a couple mana short of ballista taking over.
R8 - W - eldrazi and taxes. Not a great player. Play tight and win.
R9 - W - mardu control. Same as last mardu control match... cake.
Basically same as shoks lists. No nimble. TKS in the board. No trinket. 2 snap. 2 dismember main. 2 seas side...
I want to try one supreme will over remand or in one flex slot. I liked TKS side over main. Kinda wanted third snapcaster with all the discard!
Haven't checked in on this deck in a long time. Can someone explain the importance of Chalice MB?
i'm sure someone can explain it in more detail but in a nutshell; the deck have always struggled against fast, creature swarm strategies that chalice has almost become a necessity..chalice is very good against decks containing a lotta 1cmc spells especially when resolved early in the game..

Haven't checked in on this deck in a long time. Can someone explain the importance of Chalice MB?
best example is the tournament i had yesterday (note first: 2 chalice main, 2 side):
- first round bye
- second round other guy outright refuses to play with me because he hates playing against tron, so he gives me the match and goes home
- third round against 100% netdecked naya-burn: turn 2 chalice on 1, turn 4 chalice on 2; game 2 turn ~3 chalice, few turns later wurmcooil, then swing and go for 3 to the more safe 9-life zone, GG on turn 4
- fourth round against rakdos burn (silly fun home modifications with Browbeat and Contaminated Ground): game 1 turn 2 chalice on 1, then platinum angel a few turns later, basically took a few damage from eidolons and swiftspear and was on 4 life when i cast the angel; game 2 chalice on 1 keep me alive until i mindslaver him, then cast all of his 5 1-mana spell from his hand, but it's not enough and he topdecks into a smash to smithereens; game 3: turn 2 chalice on 1, turn 4 chalice on 2, GG
it is basically our only realiable out against rdw, especially if they don't play Vandalblast or Shattering Spree
For the low cost of 2 mana and turning all your expedition maps into expedition bricks, you can at best turn your opponent's deck into freebye.dec and at worst trade 1 for 1 with removal/counterspell.
Right now the meta game seems to be partiuclarly weak to U Tron. Maybe as weak as I've ever seen it. There are so many good to great matchups among the most played decks right now.
8 most played decks with meta game share and my winrate vs them:
7% Affinity 47%
7% Titanshift 73%
7% Eldrazitron 70%
7% Burn 66%
6% Grixis Shadow 56%
5% UW Ctrl 100% (12-0)
5% UR Storm 62%
4% Vizier 77%
I am 14-1 in my last 15 matches and 17-3 in my last 20. I will try to play/stream this weeks Modern Challenge as well as I got some vacation days so this is the first week I got time to play it.
Pierakor is a professional pwner. Impressive numbers man. Kiddy Pool or against the big boys?.
I'm not one to brag so I'll just say we've been doing quite well ourselves. Trying new things. Survived two self imposed retirement leagues where I streamed and everyone knew i had to 4-1 or better. Peeps were calling for my year long retirement after i lost the 2nd round. And then game 1 the next 3 matches but.... WE DID IT with a 4-1 followed by a 5-0. Then changed 4 slots in the main and went 1-2 =( . IF you play the modern challenge I will make a point to play it as well. (this is the perfect time to put yo money where your mouth is pierakor) and do a little side bet of some sort. A prop bet if you will.
So I was looking for a deck to play aside from what I cureently have built. I'vs been playing Abzan Midrange and Grixis Death's Shadow for a while, and wanted to try something a little different so I picked up Mono U Tron. Played my first modern event with it last night and went 3-1. Deck seems sweet. Played against Death and Taxes, Vizier Combo, Affinity and Eldrazi Tron. Considering I haven't been playing the deck for too long any tips and/or criticism is welcome. The list is as follows.
I want to find room for Chalice of the Void, both in the main and in the side. I have also tested with Epiphany at the Drownyard. Card is good, but it might be too slow in the current meta. Like I said, any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks dudes!

These meta numbers are not from 5-0s, they are from PPTQs and Modern Challenge. 5-0 lists are worthless yes.
