I just had a crazy idea for a deck and though combo isn't really my thing I thought this is something i would like to try out.
This bad boy is one of my pet cards i've always wanted to make happen. Its a hugely risky thing to try out I know. In fact part of me thinks no one would take me seriously if i sat across from them and dropped this guy on the table... but connecting with an opponent once and flipping over his best friend in the world could lead to a very quick win.
Yep flipping over the restore balance just begs to be accompanied by the troll face grin. All of the sudden your opponent has no lands, no hand and at best 1 creature... just... well... sexy But really how can we really ensure our ability to reveal said balance... i mean we only dig six deep... even running 4 copies can't gurantee that and if you don't your opponent is likely to smile, path to exile you and continue about their free win. How do you fight that? well... one of two ways.
First Way - Flip over more cards!
Flipping over 11 cards should give us plenty of opportunities.. and who's to say you can't brilliant ultimatum off another ultimatum?! Brilliant Ultimatum just gives us a ton of extra reach.
Second Way - Spin the wheel one more time!
Obviously this isn't quite as good as the first way, but lets face it, if your opponent doesn't have instant speed removal, and or you flip another hellcarver and a time warp... just give it another go. If they have two paths in hand... well thats on you
Be warned, this is an extremely rough draft, but the concept is in place. Between deathrite shaman, mind stone and Hall of the bandit lord, its completely possible to win on turn 3-4. Open up with Deathrite Shaman, drop the hall and a mind stone on the second turn, untap and time warp on turn 3, turn 4 drop a land and hasty Hellcarver Demon, swing in, reveal restore balance, hellcarver demon and Emakrul... well you get the idea. Buuuuuuut, because I don't really think a game plan that hopes to be left alone for 3 turns is solid ground in modern, i figured a control shell that has the potential to win off its back out of no where to be the best option. One of the best parts... the deck is mostly cheap. Emrakul and Deathrite Shaman are the only real costly parts of the deck... though... well maybe the mana base if you havn't been collecting lands like they were gold. Anyway let me know what you think. This is probably one of the more casual decks i would ever play, but I would like to see how competitive we could brew it.
