Basically, the idea is that with Djinn Illuminatus and Pyromancer's Swath in play, you use Gut Shot to convert life to damage. Because, if I'm correct, the Djinn gives Gut Shot replicate PhyRed, so each copy can be paid for with 2 life. With Pyromancer's Swath in play, that 2 life becomes 3 damage. So if my assumptions and math are correct, at 20, you can pay 18 to deal 54!
This is a very rough outline of the deck. It was originally supposed to be casual, but when I realized all of it's components were Modern legal, I immediately jumped at the opportunity to post it here and perhaps get some real use out of it!
The best part, I think, is that it can go off as soon as Djinn hits the field. As long as Gut Shot is in hand, you don't need anything else. The game ends right then and there. And if you don't have it, a replicated Ponder or Preordain is almost certain to find it. And then the game ends!
But the Djinn's cost is a real problem. That seven mana hurts a lot, and I'm afraid that alone will kill the deck.
I wonder if anyone has thought of this yet.

Help would be crazy appreciated!
edit: It works! Read all about it here.
Isn't it a happy coincidence that Geosurge gives the exact amount needed to cast the Djinn?
But can really expect to be able to Surge the Djinn into play?
edit: What about the Spinerock Knoll route? Like that reimagining of Dragonstorm Patrick Chapin created (iirc).
Or both!
