Dueling Megrims was my favorite deck to play when I started out, and I plan on building it if Modern ends up being a format in paper magic.
For those who haven't seen the deck, it is a combo-control deck based around keeping the opponent's hand empty while steadily doing damage.
Dueling Megrims uses the interaction between cheap, efficient discard spells and Megrim effects. The main wincon is casting burning inquiry while having multiple Megrims or Liliana's Caresses on the field.
This is the initial decklist my friend and I built:
I may try that, actually. What would you suggest taking out?
Hmm, as hilarious as the flavour-text is, Blackmail seems kind of sub-par. Hypnotic Spectre is also a little meh too, imo. I'm not familiar with the particulars of this kind of deck, so not really sure.
Blackmail seems to be not so good, but the deck has so much discard that by the time I use it they should be at less than 3 cards, and then it hits lands.
I think I'll try dropping the blackmails for 2 lilianas and test both version.

Please do not have food at the tables. We do not need a messy play area. No, you can not use a Sierra Mist-ic to fetch a Batterspill.
In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.
Assuming the opponent is on the play and resolved that nacatl, they aren't going to play that goyf before it hits the yard. Also, the deck has the ability to race all but the fastest decks on an decent hand.

Have you actually tested this vs. Zoo?
I mean, even if you take a Goyf, they'll still be dropping a pridemage, or a figure of destiny, not to mention that they'll be topdecking cards as well.
This deck was tier 2 when it was in standard for a brief period, I have a hard time believing it can somehow magically be a competitive deck in a much much stronger eternal format..

This is the initial decklist my friend and I built:
3 Hypnotic Specter
3 Abyssal Nocturnus
Damage
4 Lightning Bolt
3 Blightning
Discard
4 Thoughtseize
2 Raven's Crime
3 Inquisition of Kozilek
3 Sign in Blood
Keystones
4 Liliana's Caress
4 Megrim
4 Burning Inquiry
Lands
4 Lavaclaw Reaches
4 Blackcleave Cliffs
4 Blood Crypt
4 Graven Cairns
4 Swamp
3 Mountain
4 Smash to Smithereens
1 Duress
3 Wheel of Fate
3 Terminate
After testing it, I found its major flaw: it runs out of gas to easily. So, here is the revamp we designed:
4 Dark Confidant
Discard Spells
4 Blightning
4 Thoughtseize
3 Inquisition of Kozilek
2 Duress
3 Phyrexian Arena
4 Ancestral Vision
Keystones
4 Liliana's Caress
4 Megrim
4 Burning Inquiry
4 Blood Crypt
4 Watery Grave
4 Creeping Tar Pit
4 Swamp
4 Scalding Tarn
2 Rix Maadi, Dungeon Palace
2 Verdant Catacombs
3 Volcanic Fallout
4 Terminate
4 Mindbreak Trap

Also, what are general thoughts on Rix Maadi, Dungeon Palace as a three-of in the deck?

Just better cards IMO. Paired with maybe Nezumi Shortfang

This deck is cool, but has absolutely no way to deal with resolved permanents... Seems a bit too cute to be competitive, but looks fun at least.

Turn three you might have a megrim or caress on the board. At this point you're looking at an opponent with 0-2 cards in hand.
