AIR with Gitaxian Probe for added speed. The goal of the deck is to bring out a god turn 1 (Calamity or Revenge) or to play a card that disrupts the greedy nonbasic lands available.
Gitaxian Probe is pointless. If you just want to use it to "cycle" for a U just replace it with another card something you would "hope" to draw into as opposed to wasting deck space and 2 life.

Are you sure? It allows me to see if my opponent has any counterspells before I go off.
Plus this deck doesn't really care about life. Once I get a dude out or lock down their lands they can't really recover.
I still don't see how Gitaxian Probe helps you at all. Your deck has no way of really utilizing the information that your opponent can or cannot counter your spells. Your deck has a very limited way of playing... go hard and fast early. If you see a counterspell and don't do anything they will just sit on said counter spell. The best play is to just push out threats after threats and hope to stick a demigod that brings friends after they've wasted their early counters. Just seems like a waste of a slot to me.

If I run Empty the Warrens I would definitely use the probes for extra storm.
But I will test the build with less probes and see if there are any noticeable differences.
Empty the Warrens is much better. If you wanna play something like Dragon Stompy, just play more Lotus Blooms and Dragonstorms and Bogardan Hellkites. If you don't go off turn 1, this deck gets stomped by Dredge.

It's the same premise, ritual ritual ritual dragon. The God's don't seem like affective targets, I'd rather have bogardan hellkites.
IIRC the Gods have always been the best AIR targets. You can hit 5 mana pretty easily on turn 1 or 2 and they tend to end the game if they're unopposed. I'm not sure what dragon you're going to run that hits the early game with an effect like that.

I'm just saying that this doesn't seem extremely effective, where as dragonstorm is.

It works well unless my opponent is running Path or Condemn. That's when I have to bring out the goblins.
You don't have empty the warrens in your list right now. I can tell you path is being played a 3/4 of in any deck with white. I personally believe Dragonstorm is better.

gggrrrrrr. I wrote this long post walked away, submited and AAAARRRGGHHH.
ok here's the down and dirty of the deck. I've played this deck in extended when it still used gathan raiders, arc slogger, and rakdos pit dragon. I'm not an expert but this is my bread and butter (and jam).
it's the probably the most consistent way to get some protection for your deck. I may want to put in 2 more mountains but not sure yet . if anything I would actually throw in some fetchlands for thinning but other than that this is where i think the direction of the deck should go.
my apoligies my first post was way more insightful than this but it's the end of the work day for me and i got to get ready to go home. I can answer any questions later. maybe during class tonight ;-p

i dont believe dragonstorm is even legal for the modern format, so everyone saying use it because it's better than the gods are misunderstanding what Modern means.
Modern doesn't give you the TSB cards, because they dont have the modern border, and because they'd confuse players if the format even takes off. (spoiler, it hasn't yet, community cup is still going, and there aren't any significant reasons for them to bring it on as a fulltime format yet)
The "gods" are the better choice of running, moltensteel dragon makes it pretty sick since you can cast it on turn 2-3 with the rituals. Warrens is awesome, but the swarm of goblins can still be easily killed off by the few spells we just most recently got (Marrow Shards anyone?) Let along Choking Fumes

It was either Urabrask or arc-slogger. I like Urabrask because he has haste and that creatures your opponents control come into play tapped ability has been a life saver may times.

Some of you may think that you have made great mistakes in your lives, and perhaps you have. But let me ask you this.... did you ever play strip poker with two fat chicks and win?
Well, I'm used to turn 2 trinispheres. Also hypergenesis runs a non-basic land package so blood moon is a must to get down. My recommendation would be to land a magus of the moon first , then follow up with a blood moon just in case.
Not to mention SB. Chalice of the void as an option.

Does that do you any favours?
And have you considered molten-steel dragon?
540 Peasant cube- Gold EditionSomething SpicyI have chalice sb, but I don't think it needs to be mained. It could end up screwing myself, but it does rock vs elves.
Moltensteel seems good. I think I'll test him. You can probably do a turn 2 win if you have enough rituals.
If I run Empty the Warrens I would definitely use the probes for extra storm.

Hmmm...what does anyone think about Countryside Crusher in here?

ok here's the down and dirty of the deck. I've played this deck in extended when it still used gathan raiders, arc slogger, and rakdos pit dragon. I'm not an expert but this is my bread and butter (and jam).
I would actually build the deck as such:
4 Demigod of Revenge
2 urabrask the hidden
4 Magus of the Moon
4 Simian Spirit Guide
4 Seething Song
4 Desperate Ritual
4 pyretic ritual
3 tezzeret's gambit
4 Blood Moon
4 trinisphere
20 Mountain
Sideboard pending but I would probably do something like
3 sword of pick your poison
4 shatterstorm
4 slagstorm
it's the probably the most consistent way to get some protection for your deck. I may want to put in 2 more mountains but not sure yet . if anything I would actually throw in some fetchlands for thinning but other than that this is where i think the direction of the deck should go.

The Modern format features sets that were originally printed using the modern card frames. Specifically, the following is permitted in Modern:
Eighth Edition
Ninth Edition
Tenth Edition
Magic 2010
Magic 2011
Mirrodin block
Kamigawa block
Ravnica block
Coldsnap
Time Spiral block (including the "timeshifted" cards)
Lorwyn block
Shadowmoor block
Shards of Alara block
Zendikar block
Scars of Mirrodin block
But I agree with you fully. Dragonstorm is cute but not the best option. especially with mindbreak trap floating around.

Urabrask is definitely interesting, although it doesn't seem too good since the Demigod already has haste. But with the Deus it is pretty darn nasty.
