I've always loved leviathans and krakens and when Quest for Ula's Temple came out I really wanted to make a deck with it, and I think the modern format presents a good opportunity to do so.
Simic and Inkwell both have trample, evasion, and shroud, making them resilient and effective. Stormtide has evasion and activates it himself.
Cursecatcher gives temple counters and acts as a counter to protect it.
Augury Owl allows me to put creatures on top and gives counters to the temple.
The counters are both just cheap and effective counters for protecting temple.
The other spells are just the best ways I could find to put more counters on temple.
From the test runs I've done it seems to consistantly get online by turn 3-4 and wins about turn 5. If anyone has any suggestions or criticisms I would love to hear them. One issue I have is Krosan Grip, as I can't counter it due to split second. Thank you in advance for any help improving this deck.
the willbender should do it...can add counters as well..although they will know you have it Daring Apprentice would up the creature count as well
but I honestly hope this deck works for you, the look on someones face when they get beat by cards like this is great

Willbender could be really helpful since it can hit abilities as well as spells. I'll test Daring Apprentice, but I'm hesitant with that one due to wanting to keep the countermagic as cheap as possible due to the low amount of lands I run.
Because the deck doesn't need many to function (highest cost is 3) it's rare I get mana starved. It's pretty common for me to hit my 3rd land and after that they aren't needed.
