So, I have a feeling that there are going to be 2 unbans at the next announcement. Golgari Grave-Troll and Bloodbraid Elf are coming off. I would have loved to see Sword of the Meek come off, but I don't think it will on this one. Many sites are being sold out of those 2 cards, so somebody believes that these two will come off.
The last time this happened and Bitterblossom spiked, I sold 3 extra copies (I kept a play set for playing Fae) for around $35 each. I didn't believe others that it would be unbanned and I was hating myself when it was (for selling, but kind of happy to play it). This time, I am going to trust what others are doing. I believe that there are people out there who know what will happen and it's hard for them to keep their mouths shut and wallets closed.
GGT is harmless and even IF Dread Return came off some day, Dredge would be so easy to hate out. People would just put 6 pieces of hate in their SB and Dredge would be gone. It's just like in Legacy where Dredge wins a lot of game 1s, but loses many game 2s and 3s. I believe in Modern we have all of the graveyard hate available that's used in Legacy against Dredge, so there shouldn't be a problem.
Bloodbraid Elf may or may not be safe. I have been reading all over the Modern forums and many people seem to think Jund is getting close to the "top" deck in Modern. There has been a resurgence in Jund because it's so easy to dodge Tron matchups and most of the rest of the matchups are at least decent.
What do you guys think? Maybe you think I'm full of it, but I put my money where my mouth was and bought a play set of each of those 2 cards.
I recently purchased BBE, Sword, and Visions. They're all playable in Legacy to varying degrees, none are overpriced right now, and if any came off the Modern banlist their prices would likely spike a good deal. I'm fine that none of them came off (especially since I'll now play Shardless BUG in Legacy), but when/if they do I'll have my playsets.
Jund just took yet another ban and is still one of the best decks in the format. Why would they help it out by giving back bloodbraid when taking away deathrite turned out to not hurt it so much after all?
Also I think bloodbraid would replace Courser of Kruphix which I'm pretty sure wizards has to be pretty happy about breaking into modern. Though thats just conjecture on my part and likely has nothing to do with a decision on elf being unbanned.

When people call for a ban on treasure cruise: "But I don't WANNA draw 3 cards!"
Well I bought a playset of Jace, the Mind Sculptor, Ancestral Vision, Sword of the Meek and Bloodbraid Elf. That way Im safe from the price spikes that will surely happen if they are unbanned.
Jace is by the way only 23 tix per card on MTGO so its not even like I have thrown hundreds of dollars out of the window.
I just hope nothing gets banned. I really like the way the format is now. I think GGT and ancestral visions are safe to unban and I would really enjoy preordain coming off (as a twin player) but understand the reluctance to do so. I wish SDT could get freed but again, i totally understand its place there.
